What's everyone's opinion on £15 pound a game to watch on Sky/ BT?

I'd pay for a season ticket - or a block of 10 games say for £50 but we have 34 games left - best part of £500 quid - it's a bit of a mick take when they know people are struggling for money / jobs.

BBC, ITV, C4 and 5 should get 50% of games - but that's never going to happen.

It’s a disgrace, how can anyone think that charging that much, in the current climate, is reasonable? It’s exploitation and greed.

{Ed025's Note - im with you swinners..

Didn't they charge around 8 quid for a day pass if you didn't subscribe, but this is shocking if you already subscribe and your teams not scheduled you have to pay again, and through the nose its a disgrace, fleecing supporters as they know there desperate to see there team play. To us its a game to them its a cash cow.

''cash cow'' nailed it mate!

First of all it should be free to all season ticket holders for the home games.

For away games there should be something more reasonable. As much as I understand the price seems extortionate to go to the game you would be charged a lot more than 15 quid. These are also outside of the subscription that most pay £30 a month for the privilege.

These are games you would normally not go to or see unless you go to the actual match but a fairer idea would have been a top on your subscription of 15 for the month not per game.

It’s exploitation at its worst, not really surprised though.
Everything is about money these days.
The only way to approach this outrageous situation is with solidarity! Everyone should downgrade their subscriptions or cancel where possible and reverse the issue by buying a fire stick / iptv and stick 2 fingers up.
Problem solved!

{Ed002's Note - You don't get it. The broadcasters are simply implementing what the Premier League clubs want - and voted for (albeit the vote was not unanimous). The clubs want the money to offset what they already owe.}

Thanks for your valuable input Ed002.
It’s just a very frustrating time all round with the current climate and this proposal has left a very bitter taste in most supporters’ mouths.
Some people in general are suffering tremendously with their finances at the moment and football can be a release from certain stresses but this just adds to it in some cases.
A little more compassion wouldn’t go amiss taking into account what’s going on globally.
Not sure what the perfect answer is but something certainly has to give.

{Ed002's Note - Three of the clubs who voted against it and two have said anyone who has paid for a season ticket will not be left out of pocket. There would likely not have been an issue if the pricing was more sensible, but broadcasters additional costs need to be covered. One club has tabled a further discussion for the call due in the coming week.}

Thanks for the info Ed002.
Hopefully there will be a sensible resolution.

{Ed002's Note - Perhaps.}

Whilst the fact the money goes to the clubs and not sky softens the blow. £15 is insane though and a club specific season pass would be better. How long until the early game on sky is Villa vs Fulham ( scintillating) and the later ppv game is Man U vs Liverpool ect.

The fact that IPTV was trending on Twitter after the announcement should make them rethink.

{Ed002's Note - The Premier League clubs are not going to care what is "trending on Twitter". They may listen to a plea from the club raising the issue of price and then tralk again with the broadcasters.}

I get what you’re saying Ed but it was a clear indication of the general consensus of a large portion of its customer base. Surely they won’t ignore it when the majority of people end up watching the games elsewhere.

{Ed002's Note - That would impact Sky and the other broadcasters rather than the Premier League clubs. As I have said, one club has raised the issue for further discussion this week.}

as ed says hopefully if a further discussion happens maybe we will get a better outcome. i will be happy to listen to radio commentry rather than pay. missing the match but not willing to be ripped off.

There are plenty of 'legal' alternatives out there at cheaper options than SKY, Virgin, BT etc'

Hi Ed
I think Brighton have tried to raise this issue. If that’s right - good on them.

{Ed002's Note - Brighton were one of the clubs who voted against for the final vote. Another of the dissidents have raised the for further discussion.}

Won’t be any money going to EFC via those routes Bill.
I don’t mind paying and as I said I think £50 for 10 games is a fair amount.

Let’s start a business Bill. You can transfer it from your dodgy box to me and I’ll sell it on for £5 - donations to EFC and their striker hunt #BrettAngel.
