I forgot to do ratings for the substitutes today but I did want to say that Ben Godfrey did really well when he came on, shut down that side of the pitch whenever they attacked, was calm, never made any mistakes, fair play to the lad out of position in his first game.

I think iwobi is starting to look better too when he comes on.
He was tracking back and Was a threat going forward.

Need to move on from yesterday. Mina, Pickford, Gomes were poor yesterday and I wonder if Godfrey, sigs, and Olson will be moved in.

Maybe too many changes at the back - especially if Coleman is out for couple of weeks

Pickford is making headlines every week and if we bought Olson for competition then he should be in.

Sorry sobs but how was Pickford poor yesterday?
He made some outstanding saves and actually kept us in the match - we’d have lost that game without his saves.

He’s been poor in other matches but wouldn’t say that was the case yesterday- think it’s becoming far to easy to use him as a scapegoat.

Have to agree with Gingerdan, although he made a few mistakes like Liverpool’s 3rd “goal” and Van Dijk. He also made 2-3 outstanding saves. The game would have been over if Matip’s header had gone in. So think it’s harsh to say he was awful.

He should have been sent off for starts
His distribution was not very good. He gave possession back to Liverpool on numerous occasions

He should have done better with Henderson’s disallowed goal

He was on the half way line 3-4 times in second half getting himself involved - he seems to have ants in his pants - he can't keep still and give of any calmness which would assure the back 4

He also appears to have lost the ability to catch the ball

I think this is 4th week in a row he has been a major talking point

He is a good shot stopper - Liverpool made same mistake when they signed Mignolet from Sunderland also.
Pickford - 35 games in last season for Sunderland - conceded 61 goals

Appreciate might have a different point of view but I think he has been at fault for 3 goals already this season and think it will continue.

Didn’t say he hadn’t had fault in other games just think to say he was awful yesterday is harsh. Those couple of saves cancelled out his mistakes, that being said I wish he didn’t have to cancel out mistakes in the first place.

I didn’t say he was awful - I said he was poor.
Any case game is of opinions - I thought he should have been sent off. I think he has a poor mentality (Lack of concentration) and it showed again yesterday.

Henderson’s goal could have been given any other week and that poor save was a lack of concentration similar to when he lost us the derby with Origi.

If either of those decisions went against us yesterday I’m sure there would be a lot more of us saying he should be dropped.

Pickford wasn't poor, made some good saves but to be fair he should have been sat on the bench. Gomes was always hit and miss, since his injury more miss. Siguurdson now looks the better bet to be with the new guys.

Your probably right that sigurdsson needs to replace Gomes but this absolutely kills me because his attitude and behaviour to the club last season was a disgrace and I for one would be happy to see him be moved on. Yes pickford made some worldly saves but he should have been sent off no question also he was at fault for the ruled off goal. But hey this is pickford careers to date isn't it? THink what other posters are trying to say is we want someone level headed between the sticks with consistency. We don't expect them to save worldys every game but not do we expect them to make a mistake every single game to which my knowledge pickford has done discounting Tottenham away.
