After watching the game yesterday, I am more pessimistic than ever, especially as it seems that Benitez is going to use zonal marking, we will struggle to create, we will struggle for goals, and by the looks of it will struggle to stop them aswell, unless players arrive before the window shuts the outlook is bleak, nobody can deny it, that squad of players as it stands will seriously struggle to make top half.

{Ed025's Note - we just have to live in hope danny, its not looking very promising i must say but you never know mate..

I think we will be just fine, give Rafa time he’ll get us winning games, we just need to be realistic and temper our expectations, it’s a season or two of rebuilding and Rafa is the perfect man for the job. If we all start the season with a negative attitude it won’t help the club or players. Once we get back to a full Goodison, we need to get behind the team; as last season showed, the team need us.

I hope you are right swinners, I refrained from criticism of the manager, I realise he needs to be given time, but if FFP dictates that we can cannot improve the squad, then Benitez or any other manager would struggle to get a tune out the players that we have, its one thing signing players, but another to improve the squad, I can't help thinking any further signings we make, will be purely about having more legs, I don't see us improving the quality.

I thought that the one thing that we could depend on Benitez for would be organisation. The team would not fall apart. Evidently my mistake.

{Ed025's Note - he has to be given time glennk, he will be trying his best but its not easy when your hands are tied, dont read anything into yesterday mate it was a run out with a scratch side and only the third game in the rafa era, hopefully we will be in better shape on saturday and see some progress..

Better to judge him when we next play Utd. We’ve set a bench mark; now let’s go smash it!
