Hey Ed025 what's your take on this window mate, personally I think we have done really well with Gray and Townsend brought in early and we know how well they have done so early on, and now Rondon at the end, good experienced player, this season so far we have played our best footy in years under Rafa and long may that continue, Everton are in a situation and going places at last and couple that with the new Stadium the future is bright, well chuffed mate COYB.

{Ed025's Note - im a bit underwhelmed that we never got a couple more in to be honest GB, i think the ones we did get are fine for the job in hand but injuries or suspensions could just scupper operation rafa mate, but im happy with what have and really looking forward to the season..

Considering we had no money until the final few hours of the window and the fact that we have brought in five proven PL players and managed to get a couple out on good loans and reduced our wage bill significantly its not been to bad a window. If you take into consideration that Benitez has most of the players performing much better than they did last season so far, I can see us progressing again this season. RB is still looking a bit shaky but we do have players that can cover the position. It will be interesting to see if Kenny can improve offensively with better coaching.

I'd play Godfrey or holgate at RB over Kenny.

We started off pretty well last season also. Hopefully unlike last season we can keep it going when the injuries and suspensions kick in.

We’ve only played three games, and just like last year people getting carried away with what we have achieved. Let’s wait till the end of the year see where we are then.

Dont agree with that Woburn mate the whole Team is playing with much more energy and pace and can do it for 90 mins, much better than last season and we have finally found a manger who can take us places,

I’m concerned about the right back and leftback situation as no idea why Nkounkou was loaned out.

Otherwise not a bad window with 5 in for very little outlay.

Several left at end of contracts (Walcott, bolasie, besic) and we moved on Kean.

Also apparently got some money from Vlasic moving to West Ham.

Underwhelming as Ed025 said, however not as bad as many fans are making it out to be.

Woburn, totally agree mate. 3 games in and everyone seems to think we've turned a corner. We had a very good start to last season and we all know how that went! It's a good start to the season but let's not all get too carried away, Christmas is the bench mark so let's hope we continue our good form and we will see how far we've come under rafa.

Don’t think anyone is getting carried away mate, we can all see it we are playing better than last season.

I honestly think this has been a very decent window. We acted like a kid finding a tenner in woolworths on Xmas eve and made so many mistakes. Now we've had to really think about where the money is going, we are making better decisions. Woulda been nice see a RB but we do have cover, just not sustainable quality. I think we'll compete in the top ten quite comfortably n may even be the surprise of the season if an avoid injuries to key players.

I think Rafa is going to use 3 at the back and of its a 4 then use Godfrey, Delph and Holgate like Ancelotti did. This might not be a bad thing if we are going to continue to play on the counter and use our pace.

GB beg to differ, we were actually playing really well at the start of last season, and didn’t we top the league at one point?
Three games against average opponents is not a yard stick to measure this team by. Now if we are still performing well by the end of the year then I will be a very happy blue. So let’s see then eh.

Guernsey of course they are playing with more energy etc! '3 games in', we did the same under Ancelloti for longer. Woburnblue is just pointing out the obvious. My opinion is that given our curcumstances Rafa willl never the less have us finishing top 10.

{Ed025's Note - i will take top 10 DFS, its yet another season of transition but this time without the money wasted in previous campaigns, i dont know whether thats a good or a bad thing having no money mate, but it will be a very interesting season and im looking forward to it actually..

Look at your posts from last year GB. You were raving at our start under Ancelotti and how great he was for us. Wait until Xmas and let's see how we are doing.

In my opinion we have started better than last season as although we were scoring we were also letting in quite a few. This season its been individual errors by one person that has been the cause of the majority of the goals conceded. The players seem to have blended well in a short period of time and our energy levels look much better. As with last season I hope our form will continue but as always we will have to wait and see.
