Bernard off, Gordon to Preston on loan, Josh king in unless he chooses Fulham 🙄.

Think he will go to fulham.

30 Dec 2020 00:06:54
Any chance of Diego Costa ed.

Bigduncansback

{Ed002's Note - I cannot sensibly answer "any chance" questions. Something changed in the summer that would likely discount such a move.}

1.) 30 Dec 2020 15:49:47
What are your thoughts on any movement in the January window Ed? . Realistically can we expect any moves in/ out or will we be waiting until summer? .

2.) 30 Dec 2020 17:50:31
I would not expect too much in January but Everton face work in the summer and need to decide on which contracts to extend and which to let run down or sell up. Before the start of next season they need to add asecond pick G, a RB, possibly a DM, a RW and a S.
Possible options being considered right now include:
Gleison Bremer (CB) Carlo Ancelotti tried to take him to Napoli and could try again - but a Work Permit could be an issue unless paying over the odds. If Mina stays nothing will happen.
Sami Khedira (CM/DM) Will be allowed to leave Juventus in January. The player says he is keen to work with Ancelotti again - it is unclear if Everton would look to him - makes little or no sense and wages would be very high. Spurs may offer a solution for 18 months.
Demarai Gray (RW) not a CA pick but there might be a real push for him.
Boulaye Dia (S) Reims striker who would need to considerably improve his strike rate but has been of interest to Brighton, Everton and Marseille. Says he wants to play for Lyon.
Arkadiusz Milik (S) a wildcard because of the CA link but of interest to others.
Diego Costa (S) will be offered to two English sides including Everton but I doubt they will want the risk.

Everton have 10 players entering the last year of their contracts next summer in addition to these potential departures. The club needs to step up.
Robin Olsen (G) will become a Free Agent.
Jonjoe Kenny (RB) Schalke wanted another loanbut Everton have kept him and not used him - needs to move on.
Yerri Mina (CB) May well be available at the right price.
Mo Besic (DM) Wasting his time in the U23s at Everton.
Yannick Bolasie (LW) Sporting wanted to keep him but would prefer another loan if there is an end to the current crisis - this is the result of buying all the LWs in Europe - will be very tough to move on - except cheaply in January but a Free Agent in the summer.
Bernard (LW) Really needs to get to a side who can manage their squad well - Roma may offer to take him on a loan to buy deal of some type.
Moise Kean (S) Needs to move on as soon as possible.
Cenk Tosun (S) has permission to talk to other clubs but fitness will be an issue.

3.) 30 Dec 2020 18:15:58
Thanks Ed, are you aware of any purchase agreement with PSG at a set price existing within the terms of the loan for Moise Kean? . Seem to be reading a lot of differing reports. Are you aware of any desire from PSG to take him permanently? .

{Ed002's Note - There is no option to buy. It depends on the new coach but goals are coming easily in France.}

4.) 30 Dec 2020 23:36:45
Hi Ed - few sites say PSG have an 18.1 million option to buy at end of season - not correct? - shame I thought that money was nailed on.

{Ed002's Note - I am pretty sure there is no option to buy the player at a fixed amount and if they want to they would have to go back and negotiate with Everton.}

5.) 31 Dec 2020 09:36:26
Yeah you are right - I looked again yesterday - Learnado had rubbishd reports of the 18.1 million as did CA.

I think that’s probably around the fee we might end up getting for him - hopefully he keeps scoring.

06 Oct 2020 12:48:58
Hats off to brands, schniderlin, Garbutt martina niasse Hornby stek Baines markelo dowell Gibson kean Ramirez walcott and more out the club, and still more to go, what striker do you think we will be looking at ed? Hands up I was wrong about Moise kean good info thanks.

Bigduncansback

{Ed002's Note - There won't be any striker in the short term and Tosun will provide cover when he returns.}

1.) 06 Oct 2020 13:59:03
Still think Carlo has a soft spot for Kean so makes sense to use Tosun as cover and hope when he comes back he will commit to Everton long term. If not then we will have time to identify a replacement. i'm pretty sure there will be ongoing conversations throughout the season between Kean and management so they will have pretty good idea if he wants to stay or not.

{Ed002's Note - Kean does not want to return to Everton.}

2.) 06 Oct 2020 14:11:16
I am happy to use Tosun as back up carlos likes his strikers to stay in the box and that will hopefully suit him.

3.) 06 Oct 2020 14:41:26
when is Tosun expected to be back?

{Ed002's Note - Perhaps December.}

4.) 06 Oct 2020 19:12:05
I would look at Welbeck on play as you play 1 year contract.

5.) 06 Oct 2020 21:59:16
I would look at a Josh King.

6.) 07 Oct 2020 00:39:48
I think when Tosun gets up to speed (after injury) we will see the player we thought we were getting. Nearly everyone was slating DCL before the season kicked off but just look at what having better players around him has done, not taking anything away from DCLs efforts. Tosun is a great finisher and I think our style of play now will suit him. COYB.

7.) 07 Oct 2020 10:04:45
Baines out the club? He retired from playing and is still at the club as professional development coach it’s not like we moved him on 🤦🏻‍♂️.

8.) 08 Oct 2020 07:25:10
I was thinking the same mate.

9.) 08 Oct 2020 15:04:06
You think baines still be on 70k a week? An I forgot about Tosun he could be very good in this team he doesn’t suit being upfront with no support! Manzukic I read today, heard josh king.

10.) 08 Oct 2020 16:25:36
Would be criminal if we didn’t go for King for the reported 10mill. Averaging a goal every 3.5 games playing mainly out wide.

11.) 08 Oct 2020 19:20:16
You had it read like he was part of the players moved on and out the club which was not the case and his 70k wouldn’t be on the figures as his contract had expired
Credit to Brands on the players he moved on and those he brought in but Niasse martina and some others were already out the door with expired contracts
What we will see now from Brands is better contracts negotiated
But indeed, hats off to him on the work he’s done.

{Ed002's Note - King is not an out and out striker and has played regularly on the left (where Everton are more than well stocked) or in the James Rodrigues rol.e I would expect him to move to a club where they will be able to assure him of a start most weeks - West Ham would be the top of the list and a preference over West Brom.}

20 Aug 2020 23:30:21
Ed ed or eddy, I know this is a rumour page but could you confirm any centre back targets please as I hate paper talk, not getting Gabriel has nocked me sick.

Bigduncansback

{Ed002's Note - As I have explained, Gabriel was not going to be joining Everton. IN terms of other options:

Marcos Senesi (CB) alternate DC replacement for Sevilla, interest from Leeds, Everton and Atalanta - he would be a good solution.

Jean-Clair Todibo (CB) will be sold with a buy-back clause and Barcelona want €25M - plenty of interest as Barcelona do not see him as good enough - was available in January and is being offered around to clubs including Everton who may well look to push for him, Manchester United and Inter. Milan have had talks but concerns over injuries saw a much lower bid made and rejected. General interest from RBL, Bayer Leverkusen and Southampton but no discussions. His agent has offered him to Napoli as a Kalidou Koulibaly replacement but they have their mind set on another. Roma are being messed around over another player and have turned to declare an interest in J-CT but it looks like that issue will be resolved - so they will drop interest. Everton should make a reasonable €20M offer and see where is takes them.

Boubacar Kamara (CB) Marseille do not want to sell and interest from PSG will go nowhere. Chelsea and Manchester City both maintain an interest. An unusual offer has been made but Chelsea will likely resist a move this summer as they have other priorities. Manchester City have been in regular contact with Marseille and may well look for an early conclusion. MIlan and Lyon will likely not have the funds to make an offer. Unless something significant changes he will spend next season in Marseille as a Marseille owned player. Everton has made an approach to Marseille to request an idea of price but have been told that he is not for sale regardless of the ongoing talks with Manchester City. An offer of around €35M may well make them think again - that is too much for Everton.

Kim Min-jae (CB) RBL had been in discussions over the South Korean as an Upamecano replacement - but that is no longer needed. Spurs, PSV, Lazio and Porto have notified his representatives that they are interested in the player as well. The player wants to join an English side and has said his preference would be Spurs, but the less attractive Watford, Everton and Southampton have also shown an general interest. Southampton and Watford can likely be discounted and Everton have other priorities at CB but could look to him. A Work Permit could be a problem in England unless someone pays over the odds. Beijing Guoan are very keen to keep him.

Nikola Maksimovic (CB) Napoli are willing to sell NM rather than have him run down his contract. They have held discussions with Fiorentina and Roma have declared an interest but are dealing with their takeover still. Ancelotti knows the player well and could look to taking him to Everton. Inter have considered him as a MIlan Skriniar replacement but he is not top of their list.

Kurt Zouma (CB) Mr Mourinho knows Kurt Zouma very well and sees him as a CB option but Spurs have some financial difficulties and look like they won't match Chelsea's valuation of him. Everton can provide a good option - he is very experienced in the Premier League and has already spent a season at the club but messed Chelsea around last summer using a third party for discussions.

Gabriel Magalhaes (CB) Not going to be a realistic option.

Mohammed Salisu (CB) Norwich were very keen on taking the Valladolid centre back in January but will face opposition from Wolves, Southampton and Everton. Manchester United and Valencia have been credited with scouting the player by his club, but they have also said the are in talks with Atletico Madrid. Rennes agreed a fee with Valladolid for Salisu but his agent rejected a move to France in favour of a move to the Premier League. He has joined Southampton.

Ferro (CB) an advisor to Everton has continued to push for Ferro and the club may well approach Benfica after again sending scouts to watch him - this is not aligning well with the expectations of CA. With the change in the situation, scratch him.}

1.) 21 Aug 2020 11:27:40
I forgot about Nikola Maksimovic.}

2.) 21 Aug 2020 11:44:31
With our current squad I really think the CB position is the last of our worries. We have 4 decent players there, I know certain people don't like mina or Keane but with our financial situation the 4 we have are good enough. At least imo.

3.) 21 Aug 2020 12:29:48
Ed thanks mate you must of started writing that last night very good info thanks, Chris I do believe we have 4 good centre backs Holgate and Branthwaite are going to be great, if Keane plays like he did towards end of season then fair enough he’s good enough but Mina is hardly fit although I think he’s good enough, look it might be the least of our worries but we need a top class centre back, top class centre mid and a top class striker not to mention right midfield left back. We don’t have the funds clearly and the players we have available for sale are worthless. I doubt Carlo signed up for this, we have spent that much money on crap appointing crap managers and Steve Walsh, the club have shown everyone around us what not to do and there going to take over us like they have started to do last couple seasons.

4.) 21 Aug 2020 12:47:48
How many games do you have to play before your considered hardly fit? here are the stats for our 3 main CD

Squad: 34, Starting eleven: 24, Substituted in: 3, On the bench: 7, Suspended: 0, Injured: 0,

Squad: 31, Starting eleven: 25, Substituted in: 4, On the bench: 2, Suspended: 0, Injured: 0,

Squad: 37, Starting eleven: 28, Substituted in: 3, On the bench: 6, Suspended: 0, Injured: 0,

5.) 21 Aug 2020 13:06:50
why would gabriel join us in the first place there's better clubs than us who want him think some people on here need to start realising what are club is about i have no doubt in c. a transfer targets just going to take time but i have no doubt he will sort this team in due course and also have we really got 4 good center halfs?

6.) 21 Aug 2020 16:47:02
Sorry sa90 don’t really understand, why would Gabriel join us? 1. We got ancelotti 2. If C.V. never came about he would probably already be a blue. What you need to realise is Carlo needs quality players, how many can you name in our squad? We will see if We get c. a transfer targets or brands targets, we needed an ancelotti when we got Koeman it atleast after him, with financial fair play he’s never going to have the money them managers had. Don’t forget we had players getting sold for 50m 75-90m even last year we had players to sell for good money.

7.) 21 Aug 2020 16:48:07
Sorry to be negative a just don’t see how we are going to cope without Europe with the money we have spent we should be top 6 minimum.

8.) 21 Aug 2020 17:37:54
Too much over thinking and the old signing players chestnut. We are hardly the most attractive club out there but our ace in the hole is Ancelotti. To say he wasnt aware of the situation is silly he's fully aware, we have ambition he has too and is ready for the challenge, give this project time it's only just started really.

9.) 21 Aug 2020 19:45:19
Bigduncansback you say that you doubt Carlo signed up for this - are you saying that the board lied to him a few months ago when he joined? Are you expecting him to be gone in a few weeks once it becomes clear he was lied to? My personal view is that he was fully aware of what a sorry state we were in but was sold partly by the project but mainly (massively so) by the fat contract we offered him.

10.) 21 Aug 2020 20:31:22
I maybe speaking prematurely and we might sign a few players Upto his standard, he was brought in to attract big names aswell as sort the team out and getting them playing well, the impact of the virus adds to our crap financial position, previous managers and signings (money wasted) has put us in this state and unless we get Europe And fans back in stadium how ca Everton spend money?

11.) 21 Aug 2020 21:13:53
I don't get this Mina is never fit! The lad was involved in 30 odd games last season. Fit and better option than Keane.

12.) 22 Aug 2020 09:21:25
Wrong choice of words never fit but he’s had his injuries over last 2 years, plus the season has been dragged out n the last I remember we had a kid playing there because Holgate and Mina where injured, my bad! Tbh Branthwaite is probably the man for the lcb role he looked better than any of them.

13.) 22 Aug 2020 10:36:42
Keane was a shining light for us last season I thought. He was OK in his 1st season too. Had a wobbler in his 2nd but I agree. CB isn't a priority although plenty of room for improvement. And as a back up, there are many worse CBs in the prem than Mina. He looks like Wanchope in the sense his legs don't seem to be connected to his brain but I like his dirty side and he's not too shaby on the ball. Needs more goals and to get over the niggling injuries. Right Back is more important.

14.) 22 Aug 2020 12:01:14
Mate I like Mina don’t get me wrong maybe when we was in for Gabriel before the virus we didn’t realise how ready Branthwaite was, but without him a cb would be a priority.

15.) 22 Aug 2020 12:45:58
Carlo is a fantastic Manager but is here for two reasons. A. Absolutely fantastic wages and B. He was sold a pup in as much promises made that this Club cannot make good on, same as it has been for the last few seasons.

16.) 22 Aug 2020 13:35:29
Just wish we had him when we had big money to blow.

17.) 22 Aug 2020 15:11:42
Sorry lads only seen 10minutes do we need a centre back haha shocking.

24 Feb 2021 09:50:05
Max Aaron’s and rafinha from Leeds would be fantastic and a Carlo special Ed?

Bigduncansback

1.) 24 Feb 2021 16:06:37
Aaron's yes. Rafinha no, think there are better choices out there. Also think our priorities should be an attacking midfielder and another striker.

2.) 24 Feb 2021 17:09:40
Would rather Mcneil from Burnley than Rafinha but can see the appeal certainly.
Personally with him and Aarons I'd be happy. Then just need to make a call on Kean, not sure which way I'd go, but was clear he was not overly interested in being an Everton player so should probably cash in and replace. The big question is, Replace with who. Simms probably needs another season on loan at least.
In terms of exits, think Bernard plus one of Sigurdsson or Gomes. At the moment Gomes is probably worth more on the market.

20 Sep 2020 11:29:08
Ed002 sorry I even challenged you over Moise kean, would be happy to see him leave now, still think on loan but if he doesn’t want to be a blue then good riddance it’s his loss we are going places! COYB! UTFT!

24 Aug 2020 14:11:45
Allen travelling with Napoli for pre season, nothing looks imminent yet might be a last week of window job, who are we going to sign? Are we going to sign?

Also I would keep Yannick Bolasie we paid stupid money and a couple of million is nothing when you look at how much wingers cost, if he plays well I. Pre season do you think he will still be sold ed? Him and Richarlison on wings would be nice unless we get a rm in and keep right up top.

Bigduncansback

1.) 24 Aug 2020 17:06:17
Considering the C19 situation, I am very happy to welcome anyone through the door at midnight on the last day of the window.
We've all screamed to the board to stop paying top whack for average and now they've been forced slightly to be more conservative with the spending.
If clubs like Napoli want to stand about thinking they'll get top dollar, let em sweat it out.
Its painful what with click bait weirdness and the lack of any true sports journalists these days. Even the eds seem to have it wrong re Arsenal.
The clubs who are selling are desperate (we should know) to get money in before they can spend. It's the classic log jam. I predict 3 in last day madness and likely most loans. None out unfortunately, who would buy any of our for sale list?
Fingers crossed for the world get back on track before next summer. That will be a crucial window to keep CA and finally wave goodbye to any lingering stink of the Koeman/ Walsh disaster.

2.) 24 Aug 2020 17:13:30
The problem with Bolasie, as I see it, is we paid big money, won’t recoup that, we pay him big wages, and we haven’t played him
In the current environment, and if we continue to not play him, he is an expensive player who we cannot shift off the wage bill and in all likelihood at present will be sitting on the bench or in the reserves
However I would be intrigued to see him on the right Richarlison on the left and DCL through the middle of sort front 3 Gomes crafting it out in the middle and Allan and Doucoure hunting the ball out and driving the team forward, really think the middle of the park is where we need to focus.
Think Carlo sticks heavily with a more standard 442 although he did use 4231 initially at Madrid before moving to a 433 and 433 at Munich.

3.) 24 Aug 2020 17:45:30
He's still kicking around because he's rubbish.
We need to loan him out ASAP.

4.) 24 Aug 2020 19:36:24
I think the main problem with Bolasie, ST, is that he’s just not quite good enough. I’d love him to succeed at the club because he seems a genuinely decent bloke, but he’s just a bit short of what we need. Is he better than Walcot? Is he better than Iwobi? Probably on par tbh.

5.) 24 Aug 2020 23:35:33
The thing with Bolasie is, he had a good loan with Villa and instead of finishing the season with them and continuing his good form he decided to cut his loan short to come back to us. He had another loan sorted but why didn't he just continue with Villa for the season and then come back and fight for his place at Everton?

{Ed0666's Note - would you wanna be in Birmingham longer than you have to? Liverpool is a great city to live and work in maybe he did it for cultural/family reasons?

6.) 24 Aug 2020 23:21:50
There's a player in Bolasie, albeit one that thrives on form and the best thing for those is game time and consistency in mins. Same with Walcott, though I think Bolasie has more natural quality.

Also, fitness for me would be a concern. Last season, they didn't look fit enough resulting in no composure and headless chickens, with Gordon putting most to shame in his rate. In the Blackpool match, Moise looked amateurish with his fitness level. The lad has talent but no poor technique and that's the first thing that goes when ya knackered.

7.) 25 Aug 2020 07:34:56
How can Moise be "tired"? He only plays 20 minutes a month.

8.) 25 Aug 2020 11:37:54
Lol that's a question for the lad directly I think mate. COYB ICWT.

18 Aug 2020 14:24:40
Have we dropped out the Gabriel race or what? I have my heart set on him, looks like a uprated sylvan Distin who was massively underrated.

Bigduncansback

1.) 18 Aug 2020 14:31:33
He has his heart set on a move to Napoli and I believe if we sign Allan they will then have the funds to complete the signing.

2.) 18 Aug 2020 14:53:42
I think the fact we haven’t signed him already suggests he wants to go elsewhere.
Just wish he’d hurry up and go wherever it is so we can move on - turning into the similar situation we had with zouma were we pursued him all window and he stayed at Chelsea.

3.) 18 Aug 2020 15:24:36
He's going to Arsenal apparently.

4.) 18 Aug 2020 16:26:06
Brightontoffee have a read of the Arsenal page if I'm correct ED02 has said he's not going to arsenal as they don't have the money and have about 8 Center backs.

5.) 18 Aug 2020 17:08:23
Looking more and more like Arsenal. Until the ink dries and all that jazz.

6.) 18 Aug 2020 21:08:18
he's as good as ours.

13 Jun 2020 22:02:57
we have a lot of youth in our squad now, Willian, cavani and tiago Silva could teach them how to win.

Every player has improved in this team, even seen Davies play well other night an delph the game before. Coleman has upped his game massively and so has Yerry an Keane, who’s to say Tosun wouldn’t score regularly if he was getting 3 or 4 chances a game, goalkeeper is a must tonight.

Could Godfrey not do a job at right back as he is supposedly very pacey. Maybe we was thinking that and sell jonjoe? Holgate can play there also.

Hopefully a goalkeeper rather get Nigel Martyn back or big nev than Pickford, I still had faith in him at start of season, but majority of goals conceded this season he has beeN at fault somehow. What are the chances of Romero coming in tomorrow or pau Lopez.
