It's crazy to think how many aren't up to the job Ed. We've basically got a GK, 2 CBs and some 3 CMs and 1 forward player at start 11 quality. And I am sure some would argue that the CMs aren't starting 11 quality.

Did well at Wham and made me slightly gutted we didn't win that race. No show at Forest. Was it an attitude problem or was he not deemed good enough? Seemed a big drop off either way from the season before being one of Whams best players. Can't be any worse than Danhoofer or can he? These seem to be the type of deals we are shopping at these days. Mate of mine is a Leeds fan and apparently Gnonto has no release clause went from pushing for the move to saying he didn’t want it today. Apparently he reckons another PL side is interested. Don’t really blame him as he probably doesn’t want two relegations in two seasons on his CV.

Even if DCL had been for the last few years, we’d still have been short, and we’ve signed dozens of players in that time. I’m not a manager or a DOF, but I’d have sorted that problem out a long time ago. I know a good number 9 is hard to find, but we’ve not even taken a punt on one.

We know DCL and Delle are on the mend from physical injuries
Gomez not sure why he didn’t feature but if he has an injury then fair enough but if he wants to go it makes sense for him to be left out.
I think Cannon must be going even though he has an injury you’d think he’d have been at Finch farm or watching us from the dug out. SD said he wants four in well that’s two done two to go and still early days.

Maupay has got to be the worst striker I have ever seen in an Everton shirt and that really takes some doing that does. I’ve seen some terrible strikers pull our jersey on but he really takes home donkey of the day award.
Just watched highlights and he’s 6 yards out, puts a volley 15 yards over the bar.
He’s 6 yards out and puts a free header 6 yrds wide.
Free shot on goal after good play, penalty spot. Straight at the keeper!
He’s so terrible at football! I can honestly say that my 5 year old son would have done better with all three of those chances!

Hope Moyes will trust Patterson more and hopefully improve him. Garner, Tim and Armstrong could add a lot to the midfield. Armstrong has a goal in him as well. definitely need couple reinforcements and someone to bang in a few goals.

A proper striker has been needed for years, never replaced Lukaku since he left…. mind you with the tactics of Dyche would of been a waste of time anyway…even Pele in his prime wouldn’t of stood a chance of scoring with his tactics…let’s hope Moyes can get in a decent striker and get us scoring up field…time to get rid of Calvert Lewin in my opinion, take to move on!

I’m not so certain about the need to move on DCL. As you say not even Pele in his prime under Dyche. Don’t get me wrong, he’s very likely to leave at the end of his contract but Moyes might get some vital goals out of him that could be the difference of what league we start BMD in.

I'm sure only a few of the less knowledgeable posters ever gave DCL pelters. He is depressed by it all too I'm sure. The lad was not given a chance and the few he had were pretty lame chances mostly. His contract situation only help fuel the fire of the knuckle draggers in putting the boot into him. He surely wants as big a sign on fee and wage and he only gets that in the summer if he starts to do the business again. Win win for club and player.

I think having Moyes in will give us what's currently needed.
Good foundations
Better attacking play
He will allow youth to progress.
He gets the club
Has proved on many occasions he is capable of finishing higher up in the league. #top 10. Though doubt that this season.
He won't try and play away from the players strengths, ie play out from the back at all costs.
Is he the ultimate answer to the holy grail, possibly not. But he did win a European trophy only 2 seasons ago with a club similar to Everton.
