Just seen James Rodriguez has tweeted a selfie in the gym with the caption 'I'm ready'. Medical maybe?

Don Carlo

1.) 29 Aug 2020 08:43:02
also read he has flown to Portugal as they are not on the quarantine list so will not have to isolate for 14 days if he signs.

2.) 29 Aug 2020 11:09:01
Sorry brank but that doesn’t make much sense as regardless of being in Portugal surely he’d have to quarantine for 14 days in Portugal due to time spent in Spain.
I don’t think it’s as easy as moving where you fly in from as there must be some scrutiny regarding travel in the last 14 days?
Otherwise everyone who is planning on returning from Spain and concerned about 14 days selfisolation on return would pop over the border to Portugal and fly back from there to avoid it?

3.) 29 Aug 2020 13:12:48
How did Liverpool avoid a 14 day quarantine after a mini pre-season trip to Austria? It's not a dig at Liverpool btw, just wondering how they were allowed to bypass the rules.

{Ed002's Note - They were given an exemption but there are questions being asked about it.}

4.) 29 Aug 2020 13:38:28
You have to let UK immigration know of your whereabouts over the past 14 days, so he would have to self isolate upon entering the UK, if Spain was on his list of counties he’d been to, within 14 days. On top of all that Portugal is about to get added to the quarantine list in a matter of days too.

5.) 29 Aug 2020 16:01:58
I’m no medical expert, but to get into this country when travelling from certain places vice versa, you have to have had a test showing a negative result - so surely this negates the need for isolation/ quarantine?

6.) 29 Aug 2020 16:23:44
sound fellas i was just passing info on that i had seen.

7.) 29 Aug 2020 20:45:17
As an elite sportsman whos been in bio-bubble for longer than 14 days he is exempt from quarantine rules, eg Liverpool travelling from Austria.

Hi ed002 you have mentioned on a number of occasions that Mr Moshiri has taken advice from a third party which has limited Brands input. Could you possibly clarify which signings Brands is responsible for and which where recommended by Moshiris advisors.

Don Carlo

{Ed002's Note - Actually two third parties have pretty much been running the game for a couple of years - but not now. I don't want to open up to attributing blame.}

1.) 26 Aug 2020 21:25:52
So is brands finally been given the chance to do what he was hired to do?

{Ed025's Note - lets hpoe so jcl..

2.) 26 Aug 2020 21:19:22
Thanks ed, I understand you don't want to point the finger, just I've seen and heard a lot of criticism towards Brands which I think is unfair considering his hands have been tied.

{Ed002's Note - MB has rather been stuck due to advisors getting their way.}

3.) 26 Aug 2020 21:53:05
Well he has an opportunity to shine. With the team performing so badly and limited spending let's see him pull it out the bag - I've got a feeling he will deliver.

4.) 26 Aug 2020 22:07:53
Why would Moshri spend Big money on Managers over the past, Brands was not cheap and now Ancelloti and still have advisors who seem to have more power within our club and yet we have no idea who they are, Moshri is a smart business man but last 4 years would suggest otherwise.

5.) 26 Aug 2020 22:14:54
I hope so Jcl. Like most I would love 4 or 5 quality signings but honestly think a class ball winner in midfield would make all the difference and free up the likes of Gomes to play their natural game.

6.) 26 Aug 2020 23:16:43
I agree Trueblue, it just doesn't add up. Its pretty clear what Brands' philosophy is for building a team, why bother bringing him in if your just going to undermine him? Moshiri and his advisers have got our club in a right mess an now expect Brands to clean it up. Barring a miracle this season I suspect we'll be looking for a new DOF when his contract expires.

7.) 27 Aug 2020 06:32:22
Agree carlo, gomez is definitely stifled by the lack of quality in the rest of midfield.

8.) 27 Aug 2020 08:12:49
I guess it goes to show how hard running a club is. The owner of that rubbish across the park invests his money, but sits back and let's the right people do their job. But, it took time for them to get it right.

9.) 27 Aug 2020 08:38:02
The Premier League Champions are rubbish 😂😂😂 What does that make Everton mediocre, down right awful, pathetic etc etc? #bitter.

10.) 27 Aug 2020 13:49:35
Didn't one advisor move? (Moshris neighbour) .

{Ed002's Note - They are not involved at this time - but he has not moved home.}

11.) 27 Aug 2020 15:19:55
Jcl,
Gomes is stifled through lack of pace.

12.) 27 Aug 2020 15:49:43
Verigo, one of the eds would have edited his word to 'rubbish' so I'm guessing they used the word that comes after 'red an white . ' or 'blue and white . '

13.) 27 Aug 2020 15:25:44
Just out of interest sake Ed, why are they no longer involved?
Has Moshiri realised the error of his ways? Has brands or Ancelotti given an ultimatum? or have the advisors found a better way if making more money elsewhere?

{Ed002's Note - Brands would have forced the situation.}

14.) 27 Aug 2020 16:48:35
Cheers Ed, appreciate the reply.

15.) 27 Aug 2020 19:11:33
Fancy, each to their own. has no pace but his first season on loan with us i thought he was class. indeed he played well before injury last season. but when playing with tom davies and sigurdson (who in my opinion offer very little) its going to make your job harder. Put some quality in along side him and i think you see a different player. He can pass, he cam tackle he can take a man on (at least that's what I've sewn from my seat) - i rate him.

That's the exact formation I was thinking Efcfanatic but wasn't sure if it was something Ancelotti had used much, we would definitely need a new RB (Florenzi/ Arias) as Coleman hasn't got the legs to provide the width needed from fullback.

I agree mate, Potter was the first name I mentioned to my mates when I heard CA had left. Might not be the most glamorous name about or the most successful but I think we need to be looking past who the best individual is and looking more at who the best partner would be for Brands, and for me Potter fits well with a lot of what Brands is trying to do.

He's not made an appearance yet, Reading only conceded 1 goal in first 7 games so haven't messed with the defence much, they've just let in 5 in the last 2 though so he might get a chance. He's been 4th choice at best so far, got their own youngster Tom McIntyre, who they would rather give minutes to.
