Apparently Van der Beek is available on loan this January. I think he would be the perfect solution to our midfield until the end of the season. Does Ed know if we have any interest?

JtheBlue

{Ed002's Note - Donny van de Beek (CM) Everton may still provide an option - but his agent is also looking for other options and he has been offered through a third party to Barcelona, Real Madrid, Dortmund, Juventus and Wolves but the Spanish sides have not asked for more information. Manchester United will now let him leave in the summer but the player wants out in January if possible. Manchester United may well block that and again hold another player hostage with his value likely to have halved from what they paid for him. Atletico might provide a loan to buy option. Borussia Dortmund may be the most attractive option.}

Thanks Ed.

Read that Williams is getting number 6 which was Jags number? Maybe Jags is going to Sunderland.

Anyway I think it's only fair Moyes doesn't stand in the way of Kone and do the right thing and let him progress his career by joining a bigger club.

JtheBlue

1.) 10 Aug 2016 14:13:52
Is this the same smaller club that thumped you 3-0 at the end of last season? Yes granted you may finish higher than us but mate you aren't that much bigger if at all. None would do very well to stay at Sunderland where he is adored by everyone.

2.) 10 Aug 2016 14:18:51
Lol love it, I am guessing you are saying that as its what Moyes said when trying to nick our players.

3.) 10 Aug 2016 14:33:22
FTM! WTF hahahahahaha.

4.) 10 Aug 2016 14:34:13
Calm down ftm he's only saying a quote from Moyes when trying to buy our players.

5.) 10 Aug 2016 14:36:31
Perhaps we could swap lone, s, do you think they'd notice!

6.) 10 Aug 2016 14:40:19
Not being an Everton fan didn't get the pun. Sorry fellas just abit on edge with the concept of kone leaving! Haha my bad.

7.) 10 Aug 2016 14:42:29
FTM if you need to know which club is bigger ask Kone where he was yesterday? And that's Kone, not None.

8.) 10 Aug 2016 14:43:13
Of course everton are a massive club compared to sunderland. Their history is nothing other than being a yo-yo club who have flirted with relegation the last few seasons. As for 'thumping' us last season, we had nothing to play for other than the players aswell as the fans wanting Martinez out. what did sunder land have to play for? Oh yes I remember, relegating your biggest rivals and surviving another season to struggle once more in the top flight. Your deluded if you think sunderland are anywhere near evertons standard and look at the money you've spent over the last 5 seasons compared to us.

9.) 10 Aug 2016 15:07:44
Funny thing is Arouna Kone scored a hat trick against Sunderland 😂.

10.) 10 Aug 2016 15:00:08
FTM I was just having a dig at Moyes. Nothing against Sunderland. You made me laugh though!

11.) 10 Aug 2016 16:13:55
FTM, see your selective memory forgetting the 6-2 drubbing previously.

12.) 10 Aug 2016 17:09:59
Tongue in cheek family from another poster, when Moyes tried to pinch Baines and Fellaini, he said Everton should not stand in the way of a player moving to a bigger club, very good post imho and a dig at Moyes and not Sunderland, be suprised how many Evertonians have a soft spot for Sunderland, probs to do with your neighbours lol.

13.) 10 Aug 2016 22:51:42

We are linked to Anderlecht's Dennis Praet for £10mill. Is he any good?

JtheBlue

1.) 03 Aug 2016 03:21:02
He is highly rated so £10m is a good price. Definitely worth a punt in my opinion.

2.) 03 Aug 2016 06:35:56
I can't find this link anywhere plus I've read that he wants to sign for sevilla.

3.) 03 Aug 2016 09:04:13
We seem to be linked with him every transfer window he is very talented but he would cost more than 10mil though I think his club a while ago was looking for close to 20 mil for him.

4.) 03 Aug 2016 09:56:12
You could probably get silva from sporting for a few mil more and he's a much better player

Also has vanaken who plays for bruges is a much better player in same position as praet and would be cheaper.

5.) 03 Aug 2016 12:13:34
Praet has been linked with us before and also read Koeman has had him watched previously while at Southampton. Only has a year left on his contract from what I have heard.

6.) 03 Aug 2016 15:09:36
Here's the link:

7.) 03 Aug 2016 16:09:00
10 million euro is about 8m pound, well worth the risk and if he's been scouted in may then he's clearly on Ronnies mind. signing number 3?

13 Jul 2016 15:16:58
According to sky sports we are interested in Georginio Wijnaldum.

JtheBlue

1.) 13 Jul 2016 18:29:15
To be fair according to Sky Sports, at the moment, we're interested in any player with two legs.

2.) 13 Jul 2016 21:42:42
True haha but I'd still like to see him in blue next season.

3.) 13 Jul 2016 23:19:44
Not sure myself. 25 mil totally overpriced. Think Newcastle only paid 14 and they went down! Better players about imo.

4.) 14 Jul 2016 00:50:08
They went down and he scored at least 10 in a shocking team. He'll be much better for us an in todays market £25m is not big money.

5.) 14 Jul 2016 10:40:40
Agree blue that's the going rate know think he be able signing for us 11 goals for Newcastle in a struggling team and first year in premier league not bad just think of him Ross wwe could possibly have 20 goals from the midfield let alone what ROM bangs in if he still here.

6.) 15 Jul 2016 00:45:01
Rom only scored 7 more in the league and we are taking 65 mill for him. Wijnaldum is worth the 25 mill in my eye.

Press suggesting Marc Overmars will become our director of football. Due to him doing this job at Ajax it backs up the appointment of Frank de boer as they have already got a good working relationship. Having won 2 league title whilst working together.

Sounds good enough to me.

JtheBlue

1.) 27 May 2016 12:09:12
Sounds good to me just like to get it sorted now but all hear Is no contact made with Frank as of yet but just hope he can bring some of his backroom staff with him if we get him but also make sure we can keep rhino and big Dunc.

2.) 27 May 2016 13:02:24
Konehead if Frank de Boer does become r manager jaap stam won't be coming according to sky sports he in talks with reading about the managers job.

I'd love Potter to get the job but he won't come. We have no money to start and with an owner whose ear is obviously being filled with nonsense from agents etc I have no idea who would want to come.

Gotta be Dunc for the immediate future.

JtheBlue

1.) 16 Jan 2022 09:06:46
Yeh I'm with you blue, dunc or Potter!

07 Jun 2021 10:25:37
I think Ferguson has got to leave the club and maybe come back in the future. My reason being is that he has been here with numerous Managers and we have been continually woeful. If he was as great as some people think he is, he would have had a better impact as part of the coaching staff.

Time to clear out and start again.

JtheBlue

1.) 07 Jun 2021 11:09:04
I agree he needs to try different clubs but to say he's at fault is completely baffling every manager that's come in has had the opportunity to release him but have all gone on to say what a fantastic coach he is blaming him is as absurd as people blaming Bill for Carlo going.

2.) 07 Jun 2021 11:28:35
I'm not suggesting he is at fault for how bad we are but something isn't right at the club and the way we keep the same staff in the background year after year could be a contributing factor. We need to purge the club and bring new people in.

3.) 07 Jun 2021 11:56:35
Unless we want to take a gamble on an unproven manager (DF) then he has to move to get the experience elsewhere. Personally I think he was marginalised by several of the recent managers and didn't get much responsibility put on him but if CA wanted him to follow him to Real Madrid he must have seen something in his work under him.
Management is tough though - Lampard had a year at Derby but couldn't make it at Chelsea, Pirlo failed, Rooney has really struggled at Derby and Arteta, even after learning under Guardiola and spending millions hasn't yet set Arsenal alight
Young managers will make mistakes and will learn from them but I don't think we have the time to let DF make his mistakes at Everton.

4.) 07 Jun 2021 14:24:28
I'd say he's done a decent job turning DCL into a proper CF. The lad has blossomed under his sessions and, although he was in the press this week lauding CA, I'm sure he has also come out saying how much of an influence DF has been on improving his game. We need people who get the club, get the fans and understand what it means to play for EFC. I think DF is one of those people.
Nobody should be there just picking up a wage, if they haven't got anything to offer, bar being a former player, then they should be shown the door. I think DF is doing a decent job so don't see the need to push him out.

5.) 07 Jun 2021 14:50:23
I'm not trying to push him out BP but if he wants to be a football manager of a side like us I feel he needs to get the experience of management elsewhere. Using Arteta as an example again I'm sure he knew he wouldn't get the Man City job if he stayed at City so he's gone elsewhere, albeit to a top side like Arsenal to hopefully make himself ready for City at some stage. Lampard is an example of Chelsea letting their heart rule their head and he's paid for it
I think it's best for DF and for Everton if he found a managerial job elsewhere - not to push him out but to continue his development.

6.) 07 Jun 2021 15:18:18
My reply was to the original post, BW. I agree, if he wants to be a manager then he has to cut his teeth elsewhere and prove he's got what it takes.
As a coach, I think he's worth keeping. The onus will be on the new manager, of course, but he can't be too bad if CA wanted to take him to Spain.

7.) 07 Jun 2021 15:39:07
I remember a few years ago real madrid took a chance on a manager with no league experience. In fact all he'd done was coach the b team for 2 seasons. Was that a massive gamble? Did it pay off? Now I'm not saying we have the same squad as real madrid but zidane could've flopped big time. He could've ruined his legend status at the club but instead he improved it massively. Again the only comparison I am trying to make is not to be too hasty in destroying a man before he has the chance to show his skills. I'm sure many, many fans of the club were incredibly dubious about his appointment and spoke out about his lack of experience and questioned his ability to coach the superstars at the club.

8.) 07 Jun 2021 15:50:25
Zidane took over an insane squad, at a time when Barcelona were clearing out their squad. He had the best player in the world at the time playing for him, as well as a prime Bale.

If Zidane hadn’t succeeded with that squad, that would’ve been a bigger surprise than if he had succeeded

Last time I checked our squad is poor and we don’t have a single player who is even one of the top 100 players in the world.

9.) 07 Jun 2021 16:00:44
Colin Harvey took over from kendall and we still had league champs in that team. In fact we were reigning champs. Just because you take over a great squad doesn't guarantee success. Sometimes it takes the right manager and the right attitude. Zidane could've failed miserably but he knew the club and he knew the players and he had the right ideas on how his team should play. What is there to say duncan couldn't do the same? He'll have money and he knows that club from top to bottom. I just don't think he should be written off in the way some are doing on this site.

10.) 07 Jun 2021 17:05:03
Because we do not have a great squad like Real. Nor are the other top teams in the league going through transition.

Like I said, it was harder to fail with that Madrid squad than succeed.

Harvey not succeeding like Zidane are both irrelevant to Ferguson.

Cant believe some of you guys are turning your nose up to Ancelotti. We would be very lucky if we can convince him Everton is the right decision.

JtheBlue

1.) 12 Dec 2019 12:11:11
look into his work properly mate.

07 Dec 2019 20:07:31
Ed02 I've read that Ancelotti has been mention as a potential new manager. Is he being looked at? Cheers, J.

JtheBlue

{Ed002's Note - No, Carlo Ancelotti seems a most unlikely option.{

1.) 07 Dec 2019 21:04:10
He hasn’t built his own team for 15 years and has mostly managed top players would of been a good appointment moving upwards after years of stability but not now in fragile position we are in. Big name big manager for a big club in Europe.

2.) 07 Dec 2019 20:41:40
Thanks Ed. didn't think it would be likely.

Like to just give a shout out to Mina. Doing a great job since Zouma has gone. Good partnership building with him and Kean.

Sanson would be a priority for me. We need to sort out the middle of the park with the long term injuries and lack of quality. We still need to replace gueye.

Exciting times ahead!

A statement of intent would be winning football games not signing players for large sums of money more than they are worth or we can afford.

Depay isn't the answer in my opinion.
