With the season coming to an end which players are going to be out of contract and of those who are going to be out of contract who would you want to keep. Obviously we haven't got the luxury of buying decent replacements.
In only asking this as I read DCL only has a year left on his contract. Is this going to go the same way as barkley where we will sell him in January for F all or are we going to let 1 of our only saleable assets go for free and be more in the crap.

Monkey nuts

{Ed002's Note - I would not have high expectations of significant additions with Everton having to clean up the financial mess they are in. They need to reduce the wage bill further and utilise the cheaper or free options available to them and utilise youngsters where they can. There will also be a need for the sale of players liked by the fans, such as Branthwaite. Leicester, Burnley and Leeds are open to negotiate a soultion to the concerns Everton have about being forced in to Administration which would see a further points deduction and financial constraints which could strangle the club. So a negotiate a solution makes sense - but it could hit the club very hard.
Everton have another eight players who are out of contract in the summer - Harrison (who will return to Leeds), Lonegan, Young, Coleman, Gueye, Dele Alli, Gomes and Danjuma (who will return to Villareal). They have an issue regarding the sale that needs resolving. There are another seven players who will be entering the last year of their contracts. Selling Onana would help them out as any loans or sale of part of the club would only help with the stadium they cannot now afford.}

1.) 18 Apr 2024 13:13:53
I don't think we will be negotiating anything with Leicester burnley and Leeds.

2.) 18 Apr 2024 14:05:37
Thought Leicester had already been charged for seem season as us and facing a points deduction upon their premiership return.

How can they have grounds. Puzzling.

{Ed002's Note - They were relegated.}

3.) 18 Apr 2024 14:22:47
I'd keep dele and gomes if they were happy to sign a massively reduced contract.

4.) 18 Apr 2024 14:32:51
Based on what Anom? Both Injury prone and cost us millions over last couple of seasons.

Not seen anything from either to suggest new contracts should be given apart from wishful thinking of they get back to their former selves.

Get rid of lot for me if the money is right. Needs must.

5.) 18 Apr 2024 15:06:29
Get rid and start again, younger players from lower leagues we need to bin our current Team absolute tripe.

6.) 18 Apr 2024 14:37:26
Are the championship clubs that missed out on promotion going to sue Sheff Utd Ed? They been charged and deductions in place for next season once confirmed back in EFL.

When does this madness stop? Will we be able sue City or Chelsea or others when they finally are dealt with. Massive can of worms and just don't see how they could.

{Ed002's Note - Clubs will seek settlements where appropriate. Everton will not be suing Manchetser City or Chelsea.}

7.) 18 Apr 2024 15:53:45
And don't forget to bin Dyche as well ?.

8.) 21 Apr 2024 22:56:21
Is the only way we are getting income into the club through selling players Ed02? No miracle buyer waiting in the wings to rush to our rescue?

If we sell Branthwaite and Onana, we’ll still have no squad or funds to buy players in with. Scary and worrying times to be an Evertonian.

9.) 22 Apr 2024 09:13:56
Completing the 777 Partners deal is important and to be honest it seems not to be getting much closer due to funding converns and concerns over their ability to pass the Owners’ and Directors’ Test. The vultures will be circling already with a strong chance that Everton may need to seek Administration if the MSP loan cannot be paid on time.

22 Jan 2024 15:49:19
With the rumours about doucoure possibly being sold. I know he's been an important player for us but what price would they realistically be happy with
£15m
20m
25 etc.

Monkey nuts

{Ed002's Note - I really don't know - perhaps £15M or so.}

1.) 22 Jan 2024 18:40:05
20m for a 31 year old would be decent business.

2.) 24 Jan 2024 10:14:40
Wouldn't sell him we can't afford to he our most important player reason our results so much better when he plays.

3.) 27 Jan 2024 10:15:25
Obsession with age. 31 is not even peak in a 'normal' 31 year old. These players have nutritional, physical coaches and doctors.

12 Jan 2024 15:15:57
With loan signings like Harrison and danjuma. Are the parent club allowed to recall them at anytime they want regardless if the other club want to keep them and vice versa about cancelling a loan player because they aren't good enough wrong atti6etc or does it have to be a mutual agreement?

Monkey nuts

{Ed002's Note - It depends on the contract.}

1.) 12 Jan 2024 18:11:52
I think I'm right in saying that if we have paid club a loan fee then the parent club has no say on recall.

{Ed002's Note - No.}

2.) 13 Jan 2024 08:01:23
It is all to do with the terms of the deal, the two clubs can negotiate whether to have a clause in the contract that allows the parent club to recall the player.

3.) 13 Jan 2024 13:32:04
Ah OK Ed002. If we paid a fee to a club and they recalled player, would the club have to pay some of the fee back? Or is it not as straight forward as that?

{Ed002's Note - it does not work like that.}

4.) 14 Jan 2024 09:40:14
Ah OK. Cheers for reply Ed002.

5.) 14 Jan 2024 12:46:11
if its specific to Danjuma we have a big say in what happens to him as we paid 3.5 million for his loan and that would need to be negotiated as that was for a full season. El bobble has said his parent club hasn't been in touch regarding Danjuma and he will stay with Everton for the full season, Danjuma wants minutes which is understandable and Dyche has said he will get some but its then up to the player to prove he can play in a Dyche system.

6.) 14 Jan 2024 17:34:35
Danjuma isn’t the answer, Spurs already figured that out.

18 Jan 2023 09:42:00
Apologies if it's been asked before but does anyone know who is out of contract this summer and would be leaving or which of those would have their contracts extended.

Monkey nuts

{Ed002's Note - See another post on potential departures.}

1.) 18 Jan 2023 11:35:09
Transfermarkt good source if info for that information, just had a quick look and these are the players with contracts ending June this year:
Connor Coady
Yerry Mina
Tom Davies
Abdoule Dacoure - club has 1yr extension option
Ruben Vinagre
Andros Townsend
Seamus Coleman
Asmir Begovic
Andy Lonegran

Off those players personally would only want Coady offered a deal, however we’d have to purchase him for that to happen.

The others could all go.

2.) 18 Jan 2023 11:55:07
I personally don't want Coady. Bang average and was awful on Saturday.

{Ed025's Note - if hes bang average Reg...that makes him one of our better players mate..

3.) 18 Jan 2023 11:55:20
Be in the Championship then and no pot to pot in.

4.) 18 Jan 2023 12:02:56
Sadly, you're not wrong there, Ed.

5.) 18 Jan 2023 12:17:04
If Coady's contract ends in June doesn't that mean we can get him for nothing?

6.) 18 Jan 2023 12:24:36
We need Coady signed up, important player for us.

{Ed025's Note - im with you GB..

7.) 18 Jan 2023 12:38:38
That’s his contract with us Brass whilst on loan, have no idea how long his contract with wolves is.

8.) 18 Jan 2023 12:46:02
I would try and sign coady. In all honesty his experience will be invaluable if the inevitable was to happen. He would possibly help us get out of the championship.

9.) 18 Jan 2023 19:33:28
I think doucs will get a 1 year extension. We need cover in midfield, especially if playing with 3. If Davies and doucs went it would only leave garner as cover.

10.) 18 Jan 2023 19:36:14
I have no confidence he would come here if we were relegated. I have no confidence we would have any money either. I think we would need to get as many off the books as possible.

11.) 19 Jan 2023 00:57:54
So no Andre Gomes or Gbambin on that list?

04 Oct 2022 22:53:36
This might be a silly question. Am I right in thinking if we signed Coady in january transfer window does that mean we could potentially sign another loan player?

Monkey nuts

{Ed002's Note - Yes, if there is space in the squad.

I haven't seen the game or the lack of highlights yet but with all the talk of let's get rid of dyche etc but
1. Who in there right mind would replace him at this point in the season with all the uncertainty going on with points deductions owners etc going on.
2. a lot of people are saying the squad isn't good enough and that half of the 1st team need to leave which will leave us with nothing as I'm sure we won't be able to attract the players we want.
3. If we sack dyche then that's another manager we are paying off with money we don't have and then the vicious cycle begins again.

I am beginning to believe someone's put a voodoo curse on us or something.

Monkey nuts

{Ed025's Note - i think people would want the new manager bounce MN, because the the definition of insanity is doing the same thing week in week out and expecting a different result mate, the team..no the whole club..stinks and the fans are totally fed up with it, this is not a blip its the standard we have got used to and expect..

1.) 31 Mar 2024 09:10:45
Spot on Ed’s.

{Ed025's Note - i really wish it was different Penysarn..but its not mate..

2.) 31 Mar 2024 09:36:34
Mike walker was a better manager can’t believe we never seen this coming. People tried to warn us but we never listen.

3.) 31 Mar 2024 10:39:27
As much as I don't like saying it as I'm not a believer of sacking managers for the sake of it, I can't see a future of continuing with Dyche.
As Ed025 said "the definition of insanity . ", lots of things not his fault, we all know it is a consequence of years of mis management, poor signings, lack of ability to get rid of players on contracts that make them unwilling to move etc etc.
If we go down, still a strong possibility, or even if we survive . what do we want to achieve going forward . things like new owners, new stadium, further points deductions, god forbid administration . are things business related . all massively important but in the "football" background.
Dyche can't get a tune out of this lot, same as all previous managers going back to Moyes. A coach like Potter, or someone of the new breed that are coming thru, mainly non British unfortunately, needs to be given time no matter our league status to get rid of the rubbish we have (Thelwell) , target players that are achievable (Thelwell and new coach) , make hard choices on the Academy around good enough/ not good enough (Baines and new coach) and plan to end this constant cycle of poor managers, poor signings, poor contract management, poor ownership.
We deserve better, this club deserves better - Easter rant over.

21 Mar 2024 20:09:44
It's not nice to see other teams struggle financially due to players and agents etc being mercenaries but with Leicester being charged it did make me laugh as weren't they a club trying to sue us (according to the media) for breaking FFP. A points deduction could cost them the jackpot of being in the prem again. which will screw them over even more so. All I ask is where is it all going to end.

Monkey nuts

1.) 22 Mar 2024 07:01:26
I read that any points given to Leicester won't be given this season.

2.) 22 Mar 2024 11:01:14
It’s not a time for any gloating regardless of the irony of Leicester who allegedly wanted to sue us.

The situation has become completely untenable for the premier league to continue down this current route.

Someone needs to step up, preferably all members of the premier league, and say enough is enough.

Yes they all voted this in, however that was a number of years back when the situation was different.
There’s been no change to the amount even though we’ve had C.V., a global economic downturn and therefore costs spiralling.

We should have a reset on this, fine those clubs accused, or put transfer bans for 1 window, change the rules in June and have an agreement on points deduction versus severity of overspending so everyone knows the consequences.

Wishful thinking on my behalf I know, but surely something has to give.

{Ed001's Note - they are already planning to change it.}

3.) 22 Mar 2024 16:23:52
They are planning to change, however my point is they have recognised the current system doesn’t work, therefore they should have held back on all the current points deductions until they had a matrix in place that everyone agreed and understood.
Current situation with different IC’s is that it’s become a lottery.

{Ed001's Note - just like any legal system then. There will never be anything that everyone agrees and understands.}

24 Jan 2024 13:30:47
The only good thing about all this FFP stuff is that I've got so much more free time from not checking transfer news rumours etc.

Monkey nuts

1.) 24 Jan 2024 15:06:47
Proper dry January.

2.) 25 Jan 2024 19:01:01
Think our issue with ffp had made lots of clubs over cautious. We're like the lab rat in the Premier league and everyone has taken notice.

3.) 25 Jan 2024 20:50:31
Points deduction is like a financial penalty coupled with a relegation threat. Add to those encouraging compensation claims from relegated Clubs. Add to those dismal comments, rule changes mean before Thelwell etc! can properly get to grips, we are hit with a second charge. It is those messing up that should be hit in the pocket. Instead the board resigns with a payoff and the owner just sells up.

06 Jan 2024 19:35:53
With all the talk about DCL's red card. I'm looking at it from a different view. He gets banned for 3 games I think. This gives Beto a chance to prove himself and will also give Chermiti some game time. Hopefully DCL shouldn't get injured during this time and he comes back even fitter and we prove to everyone that no matter what you do to knock us down we will dust ourselves off and come back stronger time after time as we are the greatest team with the greatest fans.

Monkey nuts

1.) 06 Jan 2024 20:59:38
Agree ther mate, I would like also like to see Beto and Dobbin up front.

2.) 06 Jan 2024 21:40:41
Yep see the logic with a enforced rest for DCL monkey nuts but would also hope and expect that the sending off is overturned and more pressure applied to the powers that be to either drastically improve the use of VAR technology or scrap it completely.

It is also pathetic we have a competition that uses at some games (premiership grounds) and not at others.

As many have said fed up with it and football in general tbh.

{Ed025's Note - im the same Mocker, my love for the game is on the wane mate..

3.) 07 Jan 2024 14:08:57
Fed up with the whole business to be honest. Hand on heart do any of you really believe VAR/ FFP etc! improved the game.

4.) 07 Jan 2024 15:02:08
VAR has done nothing but make things worse and FFP has just made it easier for the top clubs to move even further away from the rest
The richer are getting richer and the rest are getting poorer and money has ruined the game and I can't see any way back any time soon.

30 Nov 2023 01:08:47
I've just got round to watching MOTD and from the highlights they showed I thought we looked quite good especially against man utd I know people are going to say they are a poor team but they are the inform team results wise for grinding out results.
Also looking at bbc sport stats we had 24 shots 6 on target last season that would take about 6 games to get that.
The thing that annoys me is that the MOTD panel slate us. I'm not a season ticket holder or anything so only watch games on the tele etc but I thought we played well. I would imagine confidence was knocked after that wonder goal and another day we might have had some luck and scored a few.
Is Dyche the man? I think he's the best man for the job and if given time will bring stability back to the club which we desperately need.
We will be fine this season and we are going to win the caraboa cup.

Monkey nuts

1.) 30 Nov 2023 19:11:59
The way MU play you are always going to get chances and we should have been 3-1 up by half time with any sort of decent finishing.
VAR gave them an undeserved penalty, then we were always chasing the game after that.

2.) 30 Nov 2023 19:41:58
I've got no idea how anyone can dispute the pen. Clear as day. If it was the other way round we'd all be calling for one.

3.) 30 Nov 2023 20:32:48
It was a pen and we was terrible in front of goal as usual
Utd deserved the win
Don't know what game you watched but it wasn't the last game we played.

4.) 30 Nov 2023 20:35:16
We probably wouldn’t get it though Chris.

5.) 01 Dec 2023 18:09:23
Chris, it looked from where we sit that he did a swallow, it certainly wasn't clear and obvious error. We were however, rabbits in headlights in front of goal.

With the fa cup if they are going to scrap replays then what I think they should do is the following.
Keep replays upto the 3rd round as it doesn't effect the big boys
For the 3rd round
All non league teams that are left in the competition get drawn at home against a premier league. Once all the non league teams have been drawn then league 2 teams get drawn until all premier league teams have been drawn if all league 2 have been drawn then any remaining prem teams it goes back to a free for all and if there Any remaining league 2 teams after the prem teams have been drawn then they go against championship teams then it's a free for all.
They can start the fixtures on a Wednesday with 2 games 6pm and 8pm
Thursday 2 games 6pm and 8pm
Friday 2 games 6pm and 8pm
Saturday and Sunday 5 games 12pm 2pm 4pm 6pm 8pm
Monday 2 games 6pm 8pm
Tuesday 2 games 6pm 8pm

No extra time straight to penaltys

This way all games involving a prem team would be televised and hopefully don't over run.
all tv rights gate receipts go to the non prem side / championship side.
The prem team would win and they get to keep the prize money for qualifying for the next round. This way I think everyone wins.
We get the david and goliath matches
The fans get a memory
We should see lots of goals
And there's more chance of a major upset.
Hope that makes sense.

Hi Ed002
When you say they plan to buy the player then sell him on does that mean they don't have to buy him from us? This is where I'm really confused with it. If Juventus are planning to buy and sell on I'm assuming they would have a buyer lined and make a few £££ in the process otherwise why would they buy him if they didn't have to.
Apologies if I'm asking the same question and if you've already answered it.

Monkey nuts

{Ed002's Note - He is an Everton player on loan and they would be buying him from Everton, and yes they will look to make a profit.}
