Every one seems to be in a panic over no cb coming in
I think we can wait until January.

We have:

Keane, Mina
Holgate, Gibson
Gbamin,

And I’m sure Pennington even if does go will have a recall clause
Worst case Sidibe looks a solid enough defender he could fill in well

I agree we in the long term need kurt Zouma

But rather than buy rubbish I would rather wait 6/12 months and sign him than spend 30mlion on someone rubbish

Although I do think we try and test Bournemouth on Ake
Of those available (or at least their club naming a valuation) he is one I like
£75m is a massive amount of money

But it’s a sellers market and I reckon he oils help us get to next level
Certainly rate him higher than Maguire so if we can talk them down to £60m I’would consider that excellent business.

These rumours I’ve heard that Ashley Williams has returned are extremely worrying though.

2.) 08 Aug 2019 11:10:59
I agree Sh, we don't want to make any last minute panic buys ( that don't work out and then on wage bill for 4 years. A loan deal ok, we've made some great signings this window. Remember NSNO, on that point is Iwobi good enough for anything more than cover considering what we have. To me another Arsenal cast off re Theo.

3.) 08 Aug 2019 11:16:23
Sky just reporting we have held discussions with Utd over Rojo.

4.) 08 Aug 2019 11:19:25
I understand all everyone worry about defence but I have a funny feeling we have given up on a CB and I think we may use gbamin there as he can play that position and sort a CB another window I think there focusing more on zaha.

5.) 08 Aug 2019 11:40:44
Personally I don’t think Iwobi was ever a big target I think he was used to prompt Zaha requesting a move!
Today I would expect an attempt to get Zaha done, possibly one last try at Doucoure and then a loan move for Either Tomori or Rojo is also a possibility
I.

{Ed025's Note - please not rojo SH..

6.) 08 Aug 2019 11:57:02
Ed025 if it’s just a loan as cover mate I could live with it
A permanent deal would be upsetting 😂
I mentioned on another post about Rojo a few days ago (heard it from a friend) and it just doesn’t seem to be going away
I would honestly go to Bournemouth with an offer for Ake
Maybe a deal seeing Gibson going on loan as well.

{Ed025's Note - im not a rojo fan scone head, but as you say maybe a loan deal would be ok but i would like a CB on a permanent deal really mate...ake would be good..

7.) 08 Aug 2019 12:22:41
Talk is that Rojo will be a permanent deal.

8.) 08 Aug 2019 12:46:18
Rojo at finch farm talk is it’s a permanent deal.

Apparently linked with Malcolm (again) after he made his debut for Zenit and his own fans had a banner telling the club they don’t want black players!

Zenit may be forced to get him off the books sharpish and may take a significant loss.

Sconius-headius

1.) 05 Aug 2019 17:07:08
Was just about to write the same post S-H. Haven't heard links we are going back in for him. But saw the carry on he had the his own fans. The fans are requesting zenit to sell him. Interesting if he comes back to the market weather we will go back in for him.
Would absolutely love him at Everton. Think he's quality. Might even get him for less than we offered Barcelona.
But I haven't heard anything about us going back in for him so not getting hopes up!

2.) 05 Aug 2019 17:41:14
Yeah mate it’s only something I heard through a mate

Be a great addition.

3.) 05 Aug 2019 19:30:01
Would be a good addition however the bigger talking point is what disgusting behaviour by their fans!
Quite a few media outlets have been running stories about it.

4.) 05 Aug 2019 20:26:58
IMO if we wanted him he wouldn't be at Zenith . I think the Prem has to be a better option with or without European football on offer .

5.) 05 Aug 2019 23:10:49
Whether we are interested or not this is a despicable situation. Such brazen acts of racism are truly sickening. I learn this on the same day one of our supporters groups are raising funds for a banner to welcome Moise Kean and reassure him of our total inclusion policy as a club.

6.) 05 Aug 2019 23:12:18
Zenit bigwigs have come out and flatly denied the said banner was racist and that their fans weren't being sarcastic in any shape or form. Apparently, the 'small minority' of fans were thanking the club for holding up their tradition of signing the best players no matter what colour their skin is or where they originate from.
I, for one, am a bit sceltical of their explanation!

7.) 05 Aug 2019 23:26:12
In all fairness it's not like it's a secret that the Russian league is rife with racism so whoever was his advisor about the deal should have warned him of this. He will be there for 1 season before going on strike and looking for his 3rd club in as many years.

8.) 06 Aug 2019 03:01:55
The rumours about the Russian league are rumours. Who has been to Russia, St Petersburg is nothing like we are brought up to believe, let's keep it football and not behaviour of a small minority of fans. Every club has that minority that don't agree with most fans. We have it ourselves, everything is negative to them. When Bill has had a plan since he took over and that plan is still in play almost 10 years on.
Football not polytics.

9.) 06 Aug 2019 04:38:00
A disgrace of course, but there’re no surprises there at all. Kean had well documented issues in Italy too, whether or not that influenced him wanting to move or not? Our gain either way. Not perfect in England, but not comparable to the abuse faced further East in Europe. Harsher sanctions required!

04 Aug 2019 18:51:26
Happy with business so far! Made up at Kean signing

Zaha and Zouma ideally (just my opinion)

But if not would be happy with short term solution rather than massive spend

Maybe look at a one year deal for Cahill as cover for Mina and Keane
And would happily take a 1/ 2 year deal for Welbeck offer him a reasonable wage and a hefty appearance or goal fee

Put the emphasis on paying more when fit and see how injury prone he is then

Other player I would love is Ryan Fraser
I think would be great signing!
Everton fans live a work horse! Straq was loved and he was a rubbish footballer
Even Niasse works hard which is why no matter how bad he is most of us would love it to work for him because he gives everything

Fraser has that mentality
But with the actually ability too

I for one hope we are the in named club that have apparently enquires about him.

1.) 04 Aug 2019 19:10:06
I'd like andre Silva on loan
Bakayoko loan
No idea who I'd have as centre back, if we do get a man utd reject, who would you take, rojo, Jones or smelling? They are all prone to stupid errors but I can see us going for one.

2.) 04 Aug 2019 19:11:49
With the signings we have done we were linked with neres from Ajax would anyone want him now watched him on YouTube class player.

3.) 04 Aug 2019 19:17:29
As some sort of cover, I'd avoid the man Utd trio at all costs. Errors in them all and confidence not great, but I'd take Cahill. His leadership and experience in the training ground would help if nothing else.

4.) 04 Aug 2019 19:26:14
Klassen looked better than Neres on you tube and he didn't work out.
He would be a massive risk for the price.

5.) 04 Aug 2019 22:57:24
Think everyone is drunk tonight.

6.) 04 Aug 2019 22:59:34
I agree Neres is a risk at the price quoted! Would prefer to pay the extra for a proven player in this division (Zaha)

Also heard a rumour since my original post of Bids for two united players

Rojo (permanent)
Sanchez (loan)

Of the two I think Rojo is the one I would prefer but wouldn’t be upset if doesn’t happen!

7.) 04 Aug 2019 23:05:01
Albo why do you think everyone is drunk mate? 😂😂.

8.) 05 Aug 2019 08:55:48
Deffo need another striker definitely not welbeck Charlie Austin name been mentioned definitely not for me but can see another striker coming in need a CB and a cover rb think silva looking at a winger as well going be interesting few days see few players coming in still say marquee signing as well.

9.) 05 Aug 2019 11:22:54
Welbeck wouldn’t be my first choice either White! But if our targets aren’t available I would rather have him on a 1/ 2 year free transfer (obviously it’s not actually free as still pay the relevant fees for signing etc) that way we can spend any money available on more pressing issues

Also hearing that we have this morning
Put an official bid in of about £33m for Zouma
This is a starting point to test the water
I see this being turned down and us going back in

Personally I think he’s worth as more than VVD (not saying he isn’t better as I actually do rate VVD as one of worlds best
But in terms of value to Everton then Zouma is paying what it takes

However I don’t see Brands paying over £50m (60 at a push) so whether this gets over the line I don’t know

Chelsea hold the cards on this one.

Heard a few rumours today of English clubs looking at both Luca Waldschmidt (Freiburg) and Marco Richter (Augsburg)

Saw quite a bit of there two in the U21 tournament a few weeks back and was largely impressed with them both!

Anyone know if Everton May be amongst the Prem teams showing an interest?

For me both would improve the squad.

Sconius-headius

1.) 23 Jul 2019 15:38:48
Whilst they may have potential, they would probably not solve our problem. Under 21s are still developing and for the most part would not have the impact we need (a proven clinical goalscorer) . One of those signings would essentially be DCL volume 2.

2.) 23 Jul 2019 18:02:17
WorcesterEFC I fully agree that neither is the marquee 25 goal a season player we need and a proven goalscorer is also required! What I do believe from
What I have seen of them is LW is more natural in front of goal than DCL (I am a fan of DCL btw) and certainly a better option than Niasse.
To compete we would need 4 strikers imo so DCL, Waldschmidt, Tosun (I still believe has potential to succeed given a chance) and hopefully a big name proven scorer! I would be happy with that!
MR would for me be a better option to come off the bench than Walcott! ANd if Lookman is gone then I think we need another game changer in to fill that space!

Neither would be guaranteed 20 assist or goals this season but I certainly think they could contribute with a few each.

3.) 23 Jul 2019 18:16:32
I don't completely disagree with you about what they may offer but we do not need 4 strikers. We do not need someone who will hinder the growth of DCL and we mostly need ready made experienced players to let us take that step up in terms of quality. The plan of a 24/ 25 year old is absolutely correct because we can't waste more time of developing players to get the progression in a few years time.

4.) 23 Jul 2019 20:23:59
Who is the 25 goal a season striker we could realistically sign?

5.) 23 Jul 2019 23:04:46
I think Mandzukic could easily nab 15-20, he's a 'fox in the box' who has always been pretty prolific. Short term of course due to age but despite being 32/ 33 or whatever he is, he's a hardworker who puts himself about. Contributes well defensively and busts a gut to get back into the poachers position. I like that graft in a player.

Outside bet of a sneaky signing for me, watch to see how Roms future progresses re; a move to Italy. Doesn't seem forgone it'll happen so if still in limbo at the end of the window i'd pursue a season long loan to bring him back. Very highly unlikely of course, Italy seems to be his next stop and probably a very hefty loan fee too if it did come to that, but with no future at United it could be a viable option.

6.) 24 Jul 2019 14:14:12
Rom’s not welcome for me. The lad downed tools before he left. Mandzukic I’d take a punt on for two seasons - proven goal scorer, DCL could learn a lot from him and still get game time.

Very impressed with young Lewis Gibson so far in pre-season! I know the prem is a totally different beast but If Zouma isn’t coming now then rather than panic buy somebody I can see us going into the season with Keane and Mina as first choice with Holgate and Gibson as cover!

Wouldn’t be too shocked to see McCarthy fill in there when needed as well (provided we don’t sell him)

On another note, heard a few rumours today about Danny Welbeck having agreed terms!

Personally think on a free he’s worth a punt!
Can see him weighing in with 8-10 goals minimum even if he does have the odd injured spell!

Sconius-headius

1.) 19 Jul 2019 22:58:51
Wellbeck yes to come on from the bench but we need a better first choice quality striker.

{Ed002's Note - Someone like Tosun.}

2.) 19 Jul 2019 23:50:12
I'm with you on the Tosun idea Ed002. Get him the service and he will score. He needs to be in box getting on the end if things, not holding up play or receiving the ball in wide areas. Play to his strengths. He proved he can hit the net when he joined.

3.) 20 Jul 2019 12:08:22
No no and no he is injury prone and also not prolific goal scorer if were to take a gamble on someone let’s get Daniel Sturridge.

{Ed025's Note - you say DW is injury prone TBM, yet want sturridge who has been sitting on his arse for 4 years and in and out of the treatment room mate..strange..

Timothée Kolodziejczak, Mangala and Martin Caceras would all be decent on short term deals to cover our first choice pair.

The cut off is 12 the day before game so s long as signed by end of window Zaha could play against palace

It’s only Norwich and Liverpool that need signings by12.

Sconius-headius

{Ed0333's Note - the irony mate Zaha playing against palace.
