Holgate going to Sheffield. atleast some money coming in. But Sad state of affairs if reports are true that we can't even afford a loan fee for anyone . Hard to believe this great club has fallen so far. Coyb.

Tomtom272

1.) 01 Feb 2024 18:17:06
Imagine the uproar if he does well for them and they stay up at our expense ?.

2.) 01 Feb 2024 19:35:15
Have you been drinking GD.

3.) 01 Feb 2024 21:03:54
At least their goals against will sky rocket #agentholgate.

4.) 02 Feb 2024 17:22:22
I think Sheff Utd have gone. We need to find a way of dragging Luton back and Notts under pressure. We have no choice now but Dyche to me is becoming the same as at Burnley.

31 Aug 2023 15:27:56
Cornett being rumoured to be one of our targets. Forgot all about him, he disappeared wanted him last year, but now not so sure. Thoughts?

Tomtom272

1.) 31 Aug 2023 15:37:17
Never rated him at Burnley and didn't want him last year. Moyes got him and clearly hasn't rated him at West Ham. Steer clear for me and go for another option.

2.) 31 Aug 2023 15:48:46
Rumoured to be a loan so wouldn’t be bad business

What is confusing is we already have two loans in Harrison and Danjuma, unless one is an obligation to buy.

3.) 31 Aug 2023 16:45:13
He was out a long time with a rare calf injury. Do we really want to take that chance? Loan or not!

4.) 31 Aug 2023 16:49:15
Danjuma is a foreign loan so we can have 1 more domestic loan.

5.) 31 Aug 2023 16:50:20
Is it just the one?

6.) 31 Aug 2023 17:06:38
He did his rehab back in france so fell out with Moyes. Like him but would rather get a more natural righty or a creative CM and swap Keane for a bag of spuds.

7.) 31 Aug 2023 17:08:45
Would rather go for the Leeds lad (not Gnoto) Sinisterra.

8.) 31 Aug 2023 18:29:02
I thought Cornet was Burnley’s best player.
Unfair to judge his form at West Ham as he’s mostly been injured. They bought him for a reason though.
My concern would be that we have enough injury concerns and need players that can come straight in and have an impact.

9.) 31 Aug 2023 18:52:34
Mostly been injured so of course we should go for him, let's add him to the list.

10.) 31 Aug 2023 19:12:43
Only 2 domestic loans can be registered at any time. 4 total in a season.

11.) 31 Aug 2023 19:36:58
Smit,

We can't have more than 2 loans at any given time inclusive of domestic or international.

12.) 31 Aug 2023 19:58:22
I thought it was only two straight loans but that ones with obligations didn’t count towards that quota.

13.) 31 Aug 2023 21:02:01
Nooooooooo, not the loans debate again. You can have two. Only two. An obligation to buy is basically a transfer waiting to happen. If Harrison and Danjuma are, as reported, loans then we cannot loan anyone else.

14.) 01 Sep 2023 09:57:56
Finally ?.

15.) 01 Sep 2023 10:09:14
Need to seel Canon and Iwobi sales and anyone else like Gray and loan out the forgotten ones we talk about every window. See what our balance is after all that then go buy 2 or 3 on convoluted deals with no money up front for a financial year. I expect a surprise who's not been mentioned as yet.

16.) 01 Sep 2023 12:12:56
Under the rules in the Premier League Handbook 2022/ 23 (Download PDF, size: 16MB) , there are restrictions on how many players Premier League clubs can loan from other Premier League/ English clubs.

They are:
- Premier League clubs may not register more than two players on loan at any one time.
- The maximum number of loans registrable in the same season is four, and, under no circumstances, shall more than one be from the same club at any one time.
- Premier League clubs cannot loan to another Premier League club a player they have acquired in the same transfer window.
- A Premier League club may loan not more than one of its goalkeepers to another Premier League club.

With the exception of Welsh clubs competing in the competitions listed under Rule V.6.2, loans from a club in membership of another National Association do not count towards the above quotas.

Rumours spurs are looking at Gnonto. Wish we'd stop messing around and announcing to the world who we're looking at and just go get them!

Tomtom272

1.) 15 Aug 2023 15:41:26
We don't announce it to the World, agents and representatives do though. It's their job. What Everton do though is dither or go in with derisory offers.

2.) 15 Aug 2023 17:33:06
Let’s be honest, do we really know for a fact that low ball derisory offers have been made?

Most teams would make lower offers

It’s negotiation they have a valuation we have a valuation and you see if you can align somewhere to get get a deal done.

{Ed002's Note - Yes.}

3.) 15 Aug 2023 19:43:15
TomTom, if we stopped messing around and low balling they'd be a danger of having an offer accepted. I think the point is to promote the "we tried" line of nonsense so if we made proper offers and looked to get things done efficiently it'd be a real spanner in the works.

4.) 16 Aug 2023 18:15:50
Ssn reporting our latest bid was £25million plus add ons.

5.) 16 Aug 2023 19:33:58
Big C, don't believe it mate.

6.) 16 Aug 2023 22:16:13
You can say we dither but Everton need value for money and to be careful with what is spent.

The blank cheque approach hasn't work well the past decade so I for one am happy it's not continuing. We might miss out on him, and if we do its on to the next.

7.) 16 Aug 2023 23:08:45
And the next derisory low ball offer you mean. Making a respectful and realistic offer is not blank cheque. But whoever it is at Everton that thinks it is a good idea to low ball is not acting intelligently.

14 Aug 2023 15:00:51
The rumours of man utd looking at Onana surfacing again. Whether true or not, hope we knock them back, even at 50 million I'd rather he stay!

Tomtom272

1.) 14 Aug 2023 15:04:27
Not many young midfield players with prem experience going for less than £80 mill these days.

I doubt he’ll be sold as we are looking at a huge profit in 12-18 months time.

2.) 14 Aug 2023 15:11:04
Flog him for £50-60 mill and that gives us a healthy budget for more recruitment. Got to be a few out there with broken legs and/ or ones' for the future. Not even in the laugh or cry dimension. Just wtf is going on.

3.) 14 Aug 2023 15:41:51
Not so simple. I believe there is a large percentenge sell on clause
We would have to get north of 60 mil for him.

4.) 14 Aug 2023 15:50:58
Would have to agree with some of the other posters, todays market is high, pay up or go away 80m to start a conversation.

5.) 14 Aug 2023 17:59:02
Hes only had 1 season at 21 years. He was an unfinished article when we bought him. We should keep him he will get stronger with experience. Value will increase. Why buy these guys to sell in 12 months for less than 20 percent profit after sell on etc. Are we pretending to be building for the future? It's pretty fu king sad if we consider this.

11 Jul 2023 07:12:19
Lots of rumours on twitter saying we're about to sign Gnoto from Leeds. Good signing but still waiting for this striker we're so desperate for, .

Tomtom272

1.) 11 Jul 2023 07:47:12
Ye just read that mate good player.

2.) 11 Jul 2023 14:56:17
Yeah a think it's safe to say we desperately need a striker. This fella isn't a striker.

3.) 11 Jul 2023 17:22:55
Lets be grateful he is coming in and let's not kid ourselves Dyche is not going to start the season with only one forward.

If we survive and I get the feeling we won't unless we start looking like we're fighting. I think Dyche will go. Although I wouldn't mind graham Potter, I think we need Harry Potter to fix this mess!

Tomtom272

1.) 16 Apr 2024 17:05:47
What's this constant Potter dreaming? He isn't coming to us. If he blew out Wham how the heck is he coming here? I think we need to do a Bournemouth and get us a European up and comer with a lot to prove.

2.) 16 Apr 2024 18:19:48
How about get Bournemouths :)

{Ed025's Note - i do like Iraola Woburn, but they are really on the up and also have great owners mate...so why would he want to join a club in disarray like ours knowing he would have a very weak squad and no money to spend?..

3.) 16 Apr 2024 19:40:01
I was joking Ed, jeez you really are stressed out mate. Have another large brandy, works for me.

{Ed025's Note - sorry Woburn all my fun has been washed down the drain mate, my smiles are now frowns and im as funny a Michael McIntyre now mate.. :)

15 Apr 2024 20:33:05
What a disaster! Not even 30 minutes gone! Jeez ?.

Tomtom272

1.) 15 Apr 2024 20:52:24
It's going to only get worse. FM in attendance? Maybe one last swing if his axe? I do hope so.

12 Apr 2024 11:13:53
Now the Luton hierarchy saying Everton and forest not docked enough points. people will do anything to stay up I guess. But mad as a hatter comes to mind! ?.

Tomtom272

{Ed001's Note - to be fair, if you were in their position you would say that as well. This is the problem with football, the tribalism means people only look at things from their own position and never try to see things from the other side. That is why VAR is still a disaster, because the only ones that care are those on the receiving end of a bad decision that game week.}

1.) 12 Apr 2024 11:30:39
Don’t get the Luton criticism as the years the breaches happened they weren’t in the league so unsure why they think they should benefit from the punishments.

Surely they should just concentrate on their football rather than complaining about the advantage they are being given with 2 relegation rivals having points docked not being a big enough advantage to them?

{Ed001's Note - I agree with you, but if you were in their position wouldn't you be calling for bigger penalties in the hope of surviving?}

2.) 12 Apr 2024 11:34:24
Totally agree ed 001 with the var i think there needs to be new rules in place or scrapped completely i like how spain uses there var to determine if there players are offside when they score like 10 seconds is it IFAB could be wrong where we just draw lines like kids are drawing them in stockley park or using microsoft paint Haha.

{Ed001's Note - they need to take it away from the PGMOL and have independents using it. They should only ever suggest a ref looks at the monitor, not make any decisions.}

3.) 12 Apr 2024 11:50:35
Neither team should not have been docked any points. The process is not fully documented with regards to penalties due to breeches and having a open ended punishment policy is farcical. But that's what happens when you have a hierarchical members club run by self serving muppets.

4.) 12 Apr 2024 12:11:00
Yeh Ed, as I said people would do anything and I'm sure we clwould too if the boot was on the other foot.

5.) 12 Apr 2024 19:46:55
I’m still to have anyone convince me that VAR should be used like the TMO in rugby. Mic-ed up officials and it is used fairly quickly and efficiently. The only time it takes up longer than a few minutes is when it is a game changing incident.

How the muppets in charge of VAR haven’t learnt from other sports that use technology properly amazes me every decision that seems strange (and less face it, there are enough of them every week in most games)

08 Apr 2024 14:03:52
2 points deducted. Better than I expected. Now at least we're not in the bottom 3 and we have a game in hand. Hopefully we can now put some points on the board!

04 Apr 2024 17:27:14
OK I don't understand how all the ffp rules are done. But ours is for the last 3 or 4 seasons. So I'm not understanding how man city (I know it's nothing to do with our charges) but if theirs date back to 2009 if reports are correct, then I'm baffled as to why they weren't charged with some of them 10 years ago with whatever they did, instead of letting them rack up over 100. Just a thought amongst this mess!

Tomtom272

{Ed025's Note - because its corrupt Tomtom...pure and simple mate..

1.) 04 Apr 2024 17:37:44
Too right Ed. It stinks of corruption and deceit.

{Ed025's Note - absolutely Swinners mate..

2.) 04 Apr 2024 17:51:42
Hope Ed02 does'nt see that, you know what he thinks of us blues and conspiracy theorys.

{Ed001's Note - the reason they weren't charged back then is because the evidence only emerged later, not at the time.}

3.) 04 Apr 2024 19:15:19
Or maybe it was brushed under the carpet for later on.

4.) 04 Apr 2024 19:25:20
Scares of Man City, their money and lawyers. We are an easy target. Using us to set an example.

5.) 04 Apr 2024 19:40:42
Premier League to Man City 10 years ago. “We would like to see your true accounts”.
Man City reply. “Yea maybe in about 10/ 15 years time when we’ve won everything and own the league” bye then.

Unfortunately Branthwaite is also a big asset with a big transfer fee possible, with everyone from Real Madrid to man city rumoured to be lurking, I'd rather see Onana go, but our status in the ffp is looking dire, we might end up selling both sooner than anticipated!

I think lots of foreign players need at least a season in the Premier league to settle down, new surroundings new home etc. They just need to find their feet etc I think Beto will come good. I think we'll not see the best of him this season though.

I think we should be grateful that he might keep us up again! What's done is done, the past mistakes, we can't change but we can rebuild, it'll just take a long time. as Ed says, we aren't that big club anymore, we have history but that's exactly what it is, history, nothing won since 95. So I think we should try survive the season again and small steps to stability is all we can expect at the moment, because no manager in the world is going to turn us into European contenders for many a year! !

I think it's shocking, I think these lower league teams fans love the idea of visiting a Premier league ground, getting a draw then bringing them to their ground. its all about to top clubs these days!

I remember the 70s teams, big bob hitting 30 league goals in 1 season, we beat Chelsea 6-0 last game of the season, we beat Leicester 5-1 away from home, very exciting team, Dave Thomas on the wing supplying the ammo for big Bob. Unfortunately we just couldn't hit the top, Liverpool were too good!

I definitely don't see us beating Luton away. Forest at home I think a draw at best. We look like we've given up and just waiting to be put out of our misery!
