Do you think FL thinks all midfielders are prolific scorers like he was so just looking to collect as many as possible.

Just get a striker in for gods sake. What’s with this James Garner rubbish.

chalkie

1.) 24 Aug 2022 20:25:23
Apparently Garner did well at forest on loan.
Looks like we’re trying to build a team of younger players to set us up for the future but also offer resale potential.
I for one think it’s a decent strategy.

We all want a striker, however I imagine the delay is because the ones we want are not available - can’t just buy one for the sake of it, needs to be a player that will fit in with the squad.

However wouldn’t want the search for a striker to prevent us purchasing in other positions if they think there are players that will improve us.

2.) 24 Aug 2022 21:13:50
To be honest I have no complaints about us going after another midfielder, and Garner does look like a potential good deal. 2 main reasons;

Personally I think we need to play a 3 centrally, I wouldn't replace AG like for like and instead focus on central positions i. e. DM, AMC, ST

For me, currently there are only 3 midfielders I'd be happy to see on the team sheet, Doucoure, Iwobi, Onana, so additions would be welcome. Along with some departures!

I appreciate with the signing of McNeil this is all unlikely, but we're so much better with 3 centrally.

3.) 24 Aug 2022 21:32:44
Garner would be very good for us.

4.) 24 Aug 2022 21:47:12
Said that Toffe_ with Doucoure fit and Onana, a good DM would release those two, mind you Iwobi's form creates a quandry. A Striker is a must, I think we are all baffled by the seeming lack of foresight which gives the impression now of panic and West Hams scattergun being borrowed.

5.) 25 Aug 2022 09:10:53
As everyone knows a striker is the priority. If someone doesn’t get goals we don’t win matches and we know where that will end. As I see it at the moment whoever Frank selects to play there is NO GOAL threat up top and oppositions know this. Got to be sorted bring 2 in, preferably with a view for one of them to replace DCL as I think he will be going in the next window.

Raffa will be in place on Thursday. The money has spoken.

chalkie

1.) 23 Jun 2021 09:40:55
Sooner the better then we can all move on. Whoever it is.

2.) 23 Jun 2021 11:29:08
Hope that’s true mate.

3.) 23 Jun 2021 14:12:22
i know the board want to get it right, but it's dragging on too long imo. how many questions have got to be asked before the position is filled. i think maybe the chosen one is still in a job or at the euro's

nonetheless tho, i wish they would hurry up and announce so we as fans can settle down to transfer talk etc.

it's rafa all the way for me tho, small club jibes or not.

4.) 23 Jun 2021 14:25:57
Completely agree Robbo. If that’s the decision then they just need to get on with it. This period of uncertainty does nobody any favours.

{Ed002's Note - So you want them to rush and won't be upset if it goes horribly wrong?}

5.) 23 Jun 2021 17:47:57
Are we still awaiting for all the decision makers to come to an agreement? Surely Moshiri will have the final say and if he wants Rafa what is the hold up?

6.) 23 Jun 2021 17:56:07
What’s the rush? It will happen soon enough, then everyone can moan about whoever gets the job.

7.) 23 Jun 2021 19:08:47
Can see December languishing 12th 13th and blaming delay in setting up for new season for poor start. What we down to 5-6weeks before season starts.

8.) 23 Jun 2021 19:40:34
If Rafa done as you say chalkie amazed he can still be backed at 1/ 2 you’d have thought the bookies would have closed the book or shortened his odds to something unappealing.

9.) 23 Jun 2021 19:53:35
Haha not happening . Who gave you this information ?

10.) 23 Jun 2021 20:00:26
Its not as if any manager is in a position to do anything right now, with international tournaments and players on holiday. Right now we still have time to consider options with zero impact on preparations for the upcoming season.

11.) 23 Jun 2021 16:43:20
Funny lott us blues aren't we ed.

12.) 24 Jun 2021 11:29:51
What's the odds on him being out by Christmas?

13.) 24 Jun 2021 13:36:49
Well Gingerdan, With Usmanov, the money man, pulling strings with Moshiri and Raffa @ 4/ 9 on with the bookmakers, I'm still confident that Raffa will be announced today or by the weekend.

14.) 24 Jun 2021 21:45:03
No I don’t want them to rush Ed but it’s been almost a month. By all accounts the club has made their decision. If that’s the case I was simply saying get on with it and a point the fella.

3 our of the next 4 games away, don’t get carried away with this 7th place talk. We’re rubbish away, However if SA plays attacking footballs we’ll have a chance. Try parking the bus we’re dead in the water. Are you listening SAM?

chalkie

1.) 11 Feb 2018 14:18:01
actually, our fixtures away aren't that difficult, watford have just come back off a defeat, i think we have good chances to get at least a draw there, burnley have really stagnated for some reason and i can actually see us getting a win there, brighton at home should be a win, and stoke again are really struggling, especially considering that paul lambert has typically had a poor home record with the clubs he's managed because of his counter attacking style of football (i think it was at villa where i got this stat, my memory might be wrong and quite frankly i'm too lazy to look it up, if i'm wrong then please point it out) all in all i'd say the next few games are quite good for us.

2.) 11 Feb 2018 14:27:21
just for fun i'll be predicting our results for the fixtures after that
we should lose against man city, i think we might nick something from liverpool (not sure if its a win or not) , i think swansea will beat us, i can't really see us beating newcastle at home because i just don't think sam is good enough of a manager to break down a defence set up by rafa benetiz even with a squad with inferior talent such as newcastle, huddersfield, ehh, they'll probably be fighting for their lives so i'll say we lose there, southampton should already be relegated by then so i think we'll win at home against them and a draw at west ham.

3.) 11 Feb 2018 16:10:15
Some good forecasts Evertonthings.

Sadly I have to disagree with the Liverpool one I think they will beat us, I do think it will be a very tight game and would be happy if we drew. 0 - 0 or 0 - 1 against Huddersfield.

I think a lot of results will be dependant on how we fare against Watford and Burnley. If we win those two games it will alter the rest of the season for us and how we play, the most important thing is we keep clean sheets in open play.

We’ll I’m not sure who needs the World Cup break the most, the players or me.
What a poor performance again.
No point to having the possession if you don’t have an end result.
Even our strong defence at the beginning of the season looks shot.
I fear for FL although personally I don’t think we should get rid, who else would come to the club in this state.
Definitely need a stronger forward line, roll on the transfer window to shake it up a bit.
I’m having a football break, as I am not at all interested in this World Cup.

1.) 12 Nov 2022 17:28:56
We need a coach. 11 months is plenty to have a style of play and we don't have one.
Keeping us tight is easy if you get men behind the ball and surrender possession.
As soon as we get more possession we are not tight.
Exactly the same as we were with the last first 11.
Get a coach who can instill a style of play and then buy players to fit that.
Love Lampard and all he brings but I'm not sure he has what it takes to mould a team like Everton.

2.) 12 Nov 2022 17:36:05
England have a manager as bad as ours, mate.

3.) 12 Nov 2022 18:11:01
Not fing concerned about England having a worse Manager. I am concerned about constant bad decisions who we hire and why those decision makers do not take responsibility.

4.) 12 Nov 2022 18:29:19
Need to throw everything at getting Anthony Barry into the coaching team once he's back from the world Cup.

22 Aug 2022 21:06:07
Week 2 of the Anthony Gordon saga. We know he’s going, so get it done quickly and use the money we’ll on a good strike, not a fill in striker, we’ve already got one of those.

chalkie

1.) 22 Aug 2022 21:15:46
Could be sorted and we’re trying to tie up deals before it’s announced?

2.) 22 Aug 2022 21:22:16
chalkie

you took the words right out of my mouth why do our management haver such low expectations look for a better striker than DCLgive him some competioni have a shaven head but if i had hair i would be pulling it out.

Gueye and Obana deals done but not in time for Saturday.
Great bit of business.

1.) 05 Aug 2022 14:34:06
Excellent mate.

03 Aug 2022 19:10:29
Cavani has to be a good shout. He’s desperate to play to boos his chance of a World Cup slot.
He may be 35, but he knows where the goal is.
In my opinion a very clever player.
What’s the chances Ed’s.

chalkie

1.) 03 Aug 2022 20:18:46
Yep. Class player and would take for a season. Not sure on wages mind but definitely do a job for us and brilliant workrate and experience.

29 Jul 2022 22:37:45
We looked reasonable tonight against decent opposition, however the main thing for me is the fantastic support for a country that we can only imagine the pain they are going through.

Very proud to be an EFC supporter tonight.

chalkie

1.) 30 Jul 2022 09:18:10
We all are proud, Your judgement of reasonable was right. That was not a very good side we played but they still gave us problems. Keep Holgate out of defence is a priority.

Disappointing if true. Camara is decent and young so has sell on value I guess. ?.

In contract talks that apparently are not yet aligned which is a worry if we want a signing before deadline day.
Fingers crossed for an announcement today.

Well bluepotato with so much negativity around, lack of confidence in the team, a board who have no clue, no manager or director of football, it’s not looking too great is it mate.
I pray it’s not going to happen, but we need to be ready if the worst happens.

Goes to show we do have some attacking qualities if we just set up that way. Well done lads, and Frank.

So why can’t he see this. Everyone else can. Is he just that scared of losing he’s afraid to attack to try and win.
You won’t stay in the Premiership by 0-0 results every game.

Couldn’t agree more. Even at home we are playing like the away team.
Take a chance on the fact that going forward we may actually be ok. It’s not like there’s no ability up top.

No attacking intent, not worth the plane ride down, they should just have given the points to Tottenham and saved the money.

Apparently Maupay wasn’t registered in time due to the bank holiday. More top level incompetence as Frank already said he’ll be in the squad.
