Eds. is the jonathan viera talk just paper stuff or have we made our interest concrete for the player?

oscar

{Ed002's Note - Paul Clement sees Jonathan Viera as a replacement for Sigurdsson and Swansea have made two offers to Las Palmas but they are not keen on selling after Roque Mesa has already joined Swansea. What they have said is that they really don't want to sell him, and the player is apparently keen to stay, but if a sufficient offer was made they would listen.}

1.) 20 Jul 2017 16:18:06
Ed, is this paper talk suggesting EFC are after him, or is it a threat from EFC to help persuade Swansea to get Gylfi?

{Ed002's Note - I don't read the papers so I don't know what is said but clubs like Everton would not make any threats to sign a player. Everton want Sigurdsson and know the price. If they wish to drop interest in Sigurdsson to chase after a player who is happy in Spain and his club don't want to sell at anything but a high price, they can do that. If that is thye case I am sure Swansea can find another taker for GS.}}

Koeman clearly believes there is something left in the Rooney tank. hoping so. but If Giroud then comes in we would have two players with little pace at the top end of the pitch and against the best I wonder if we would trouble their defences. Like to see Lookman given a chance in attack with Ramirez as they would give us that pace.

Looking forward to see who koeman brings in next. while we will miss Lukakus goals, won't miss his ego, and given his first touch, we seem to have done a great deal with Man utd. Onwards and upwards. wonder what Barkley makes of all the comings and goings. Maybe thinking he would be lucky to be invited to sign on.

oscar

1.) 08 Jul 2017 21:06:28
He'll play 3 up top. Giroud would be the focal point with pace coming from lookman, mirallas, Lewis, Sandro.

2.) 08 Jul 2017 21:10:54
Yea of little trust, Giroud may not even come yet, Roo won't be a main striker, Everton have got many targets still to be talked too, patient boys.

3.) 08 Jul 2017 21:20:28
Talking about Lookman I was told that he was homesick and that resulted in a loss of form, I hope he’s over that now (if true) , because he’s got bags of raw talent .

4.) 08 Jul 2017 21:47:32
Who is lewis?

5.) 08 Jul 2017 23:11:44
Andre Grey from Burnley has lots of pace and a proven prem goal scorer love to get him.

6.) 08 Jul 2017 23:59:18
Gazza never had pace, nor did Sheringham, but what they did have was good footballing brains and that is where both Rooney and Giroud have something to offer. Not to mention a wealth of experience.

7.) 09 Jul 2017 17:37:48
I believe they're talking about Calvin-Lewin, Berkshire . Autocorrect changes it to Lewis.

What do you think Ed? Will Sandro look to head abroad to everton or will he prefer to wait for the Atletico ban to expire and stay at Malaga unti he can join them in january?
Oscar.

oscar

{Ed025's Note - i would be guessing oscar, so i cant commit one way or the other on that im afraid mate..

1.) 02 Jun 2017 09:41:51
Hi re Ramirez keeps saying 21 year old he looks at least 31 Ed have they got the age correct .
Also the amount of money top 6 are talking of spending we will be lucky to Finnish any higher next season than 7 th unless we do a Leicester.

{Ed025's Note - he is 21 trebor, all the teams have sky money to spend so the fight for top players will be fierce, we wont be able to live with the city, chelsea and united,s of this world financially mate so we have to live with that, but spending big money does not always guarantee success...well i hope not mate..

delighted. relieved. great effort and we can breathe now. but a little footnote. how can Young be allowed to take a free kick towards the end when McNeill is a far better ball striker. he then predictably balloons it over the bar.

oscar

1.) 25 Apr 2024 06:17:43
Young shouldn’t be allowed near the stadium, let alone a free kick.

I can see why many would welcome back Moyse because we had a time of stability and you might say a modicum of success. but we never won anything under his reign and we often set up without ambition against the top of the league sides like the Reds and Utd at the time. There was no sense of daring. believing we could match the best. that is what you see from other managers like the recent ones at Brighton who are a club that punch above their weight not just because they have a sound scouting system but because their managers have not been afraid to go for three points against the top five. I respect the work Moyse did. though he conveniently forgets that his attitude to selling Lescott was widlly at odds with his pursuit of Baines and Fellaini when he left us. I just would like to see a young and freer thinking tactical manager than someone who will maybe offer solidity with few thrills. Maybe it gets back to those who remember. who would you rather see upfront Jim Pearson or Duncan McKenzie?

oscar

1.) 24 Apr 2024 07:57:08
Mackenzie all day.

2.) 24 Apr 2024 07:58:01
Though I should have added that Dyche would go for Pearson.

3.) 24 Apr 2024 08:22:48
Pearson.

Can't possibly put two men with a combined age of more than 70 down the right hand side against any opposition with a modicum of pace. Dyche needs to lose his affiliation to Young and play common sense. Godfrey at least has pace if not great ball control. Hope the others in the back four, esp. Branthwaite are fit for Sunday. but picking a midfield which gives us some strength and creativity going forward is becoming harder by the week. Is DCL going to be fit? Crowd needs to encourage them all. even if we go a goal down. we can't go silent and let them get their heads down and get nervous. A collective storm force needed on Sunday to procure a decent result!

Happily take a point today. but what a game coming up against Forest. if we can just find a cutting edge from someone in that baffling team, we could begin to sleep easier. The new ground has to be ours. not a lease. what on earth has been going on in the business side of our great club? It can't just be Moshiri. other cowboys must have beeen playing roulette for some time. Hoping McNeill finds his best form for the run-in! Come on you blues!

oscar

1.) 15 Apr 2024 16:35:37
A point would be massive mate.

2.) 15 Apr 2024 17:00:49
To be fair so. pong as we don't get beat by Forest Luton and Sheffield then we will be fine. To expect 9 points is probably a little risky considering our season so far. A point tonight would be great. And a goal from open play would be novel.

3.) 15 Apr 2024 17:56:16
Pickford can even score it at the other end of course don’t mind.

4.) 15 Apr 2024 19:43:07
Need someone anyone to step up and take charge and then the rest might follow COYB'S 1.2 TONIGHT.

I know life changes fast but it is still something to think we bought a young lad called Alan Ball in 66 for a third of what players like Ronaldo earn in a week today. Or has the world gone a bit crazy?!

oscar

1.) 12 Aug 2023 06:45:52
He was 21 and already a world cup winner by then.

2.) 12 Aug 2023 08:19:18
It is crazy Oscar, but it’s also relative to how much money the premier league brings in.

3.) 12 Aug 2023 13:58:11
£112,000 was a record fee then, we also didn't have all the agents taking their pounds of flesh.
Different game / world then.

Another yard of pace and Ossie would have been an england regular for years. he gave calm and intelligence to our midfield, and scored vital goals.
