Hi Ed. Thanks for all your work on a mad day like today. Is it true we hold an interest in Romero or Gazzaniga or would these deals be unlikely? Cheers mate.

toffejoe

{Ed002's Note - Romero has been of interest and I guess they are the obvious ones - but MU have not made it easy for Romero to move on. It could be difficult.}

Hi ed, hope you're well mate. Seen reports that Hojbjerg is likely to move to spurs. Any ideas who we are interested in mate as CM alternatives? Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - I gave a list a few days ago. Really what is needed is a DM to replace MS.}

Hi ed, hope you and your family are keeping well. I've seen reports linking us to two players and was wondering if we hold any interest: Hwang Hee Shan and Thiago Silva? Cheers mate.

toffejoe

{Ed002's Note - (a) Hee-Chan Hwang (F) Wolves have shown an interest but could be priced out of a move with RBS inviting offers over €40M. I am not aware of any approach by Everton but an enquiry has been made by Leicester. The player might be seen as a replacement for Kean - so we will wait to see if an approach is made.
(b) Thiago Silva (CB) Milan approach rejected because of wage demands. Silva is happy to extend another year but he is soon to be 36 and PSG are undecided. I am not aware of any plans for Everton to sign the player.}

Hi Ed, hope you're keeping well. Was just wondering if a clear out is required this summer if you'd be able to provide a list of potential outgoings please. Cheers mate.

toffejoe

{Ed002's Note - Depending on circumstances the ideal would be something like this:
Maarten Stekelenburg (G)
Lewis Gibson (CB) A couple of minor injuries, and game time has dried up so the player has to consider options which include old club Newcastle, Southampton, Brighton and Rangers.
Djibril Sidibe (RB) Player wants out but Everton would like to take up their option but would need the player to be persuaded to stay - Monaco had Milan saying they will take him on a loan to buy in January and they could look again in the summer.
Jonjoe Kenny (RB) Schalke want another loan.
Morgan Schneiderlin (CM)
Gylfi Sigurdsson (AM)
Yannick Bolasie (LW) Sporting wanted to keep him but would prefer another loan if there is an end to the current crisis - this is the result of buying all the LWs in Europe
Cenk Tosun (S)
Oumar Niasse (S)
Sandro Ramirez (S)
Moise Kean (S) I explained in the summer why Moise Kean was sold to Everton and he has the need for regular game time. He is expected to be hawked around Italy and Roma want a loan but would consider an exchange for Cengiz Under - the interest of two other sides seems to have gone.}

Fantastic as always ed. What’s the clubs plans concerning Kenny, will he get a chance next season or do you think it is more likely he’ll be loaned out again? Also, are there any potential suitors for Sigurdsson and Schneiderlin? Cheers again mate.

{Ed002's Note - It will be up to Everton to talk with the player and Schalke. Certainly they would like him back on loan, for hopefully a complete season. The only interest I know of in Schneiderlin but the club is up for sale, needs players sales by June 30 and will change coaches again this season with Marco Giampaolo moving on. I am not aware of interest in Gylfi Sigurdsson at this time.}

While we are on the subject of clear outs, what happens to those players Everton wish to remove, but talk of both parties having to agree, then players can be released.

So the likes of Niasse, Martina and some of the others do not agree to be let go, would these players then be able to go on furlong pay, should the player want to stay the extended time, but the club want shut, or would the club still have to pay wages, until the season ends.

{Ed002's Note - I am not entirely sure what you mean. Everton have a numbe of players who are out of contract this summer like Cuco Martina, Maarten Stekelenburg, Leighton Baines and Oumar Niasse who the club need to decide if they would like to extend to continue to the end of the season on a game-by-game or month-by-month basis - and obviously continue to pay them. If both parties agree then there is no issue, else, as of June 30 they can simply walk away. It is slightly different with Djibril Sidibe where Monaco would also need to agree to an extension. There is no "furlough" pay that is relevant.}

Hit the nail on the head Ed with your reply, should Everton not wish to extend the contracts, was not sure if the fa could force these clubs to keep the players on until the seasons over, or if Everton could release the players, they do not wish to keep in June, I can only see Baines being retained and possibly Stekelenburg, think the rest will have a taxi waiting, come June 30th.

Hi ed, thanks for the info mate. Is a striker a priority in terms of adding an additional option or replacing Kean? Thanks mate.

toffejoe

{Ed002's Note - Everton will be fleft with Cenk Tosun (S) who is out until Christmas, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison once Kean and Niasse leave so something should be done. The club have looked at some youngsters and perhaps even Lozano could be added - but he is really a LW.

Joe Gelhardt (F) Wigan kiddie who has attracted a lot of attention from Premier League sides who had trials with Liverpool and Everton when very young is still being looked at and a lot is thought of him. Spurs and Chelsea have both spoken with Wigan about the player, but both came away thinking he should stay where he is for a year or two to develop - and Chelsea have a much-preferred option. Manchester United have sent an ex-player to look at him and I understand Liverpool, West Brom and Everton have also been scouting him. Leicester have approached Wigan. Another one to perhaps keen an eye on but Everton might not want to sit on their hands too much longer.

Donyell Malen (F/W) rather raw Arsenal reject who has done well at PSV, is well liked if a little moody, but may not be able to make the step up. Rather unlikely if there is interest at the €50M asking price at all. I would doubt PSV would be open to dealing with Everton at anything other than a premium price, but this may well be something coming from an advisor rather than Brands. Very unlikely.

Josh Maja (S) Everton have watched Maya on several occasions this season. Crystal Palace, Celtic and West Ham are also interested in seeing if a deal could be done.

Sardar Azmoun (S) was subject to a very public dispute between Rubin Kazan and Rostov which ended in favour of Rostov in 2016. Stoke had agreed a transfer with Rubin Kazan prior to the CAS proceedings but were aware that it would be difficult to make a case for a work permit. Everton had also looked at the player in the past but, like Stoke, knew the Work Permit situation would be a problem. Whilst playing for RK in 2014 it was suggested that Brendan Rodgers was keen on the player, but I cannot confirm that. Rubin Kazan received a little over €2M in compensation at the ruling of CAS and have no recourse for appeal - eventually signing him on a "free transfer". Marseille watched the player at the start of last season, but he opted for a move to Zenit - and they remain concerned that his best form comes in International sides who are lowly ranked. Antalyaspor, Villareal, Wolves, Liverpool, Leverkusen and Konyaspor all attended matches to watch Azmoun during his last season with Rostov (2018) but the player made clear he did not want to move at that time. Atletico, who won't have had the WP issues dropped some interest they had in the player. There has also been interest from Celtic and Lazio. He had a better time with Zenit last year and Napoli, when CA was coach, took note. Arsenal have watched him as well but their needs are unclear right now. Everton could see Azmoun as a viable Kean replacement but need to make sure a WP could be obtained. I think a move to England is possible.

Mohamed Sankoh (S) young Dutch kiddie of serious interest to Atletico Madrid - additionally Chelsea spoke with Stoke about him when discussing another player and both Spurs and Everton have made enquiries.}
