Had we sold Gray, 7.5 mill, kept Canon, 7.5mill, Everton would be stronger, not out of pocket, and all the fuss and I'll feeling could have been avoided.

There will be plenty of experts on here to answer that ITB. What gets me is, if Canon was not deemed good enough to get more game time than Gray, there must be something we are not been told as to why this was allowed to happen. Canon needed game time to improve, whereas, Gray could have all the game time in the world and never improve.

Leicester will come back up. If Canon is part of that and gets time in the prem then we will soon know if he was ever good enough. Or by then he doesn’t make the squad and we will already have our answer.

Either way we are stronger this season with Beto, Harrison, Chermiti and Danjuma added with the assumption that they’ll be more effective than what we have moved on.

I'll feeling has been caused by the player himself, refusing to train to force a move. His attitude was always in question from his days at Leicester, now he is showing his true colours when he doesn't get what he wants. Be glad to see back of him if he is causing disruption behind the scenes, we've got enough problems at the club without him adding to them.

If you watch Dyce's recent vid on YouTube, it will explain exactly what's happened. can't wait for that scum bag out of my club.

As for Dyce it was a brilliant interview that I've never seen before from a manager. Honest open and no BS.

From being a person who didn't want him, I'm desperate for him now to succeed.

The club sanctions permission to go talk and do medical at other clubs. The answer that he was an Everton player and that's that only tells half the story. Clearly someone wanted him out and he went to another clubs medical tests. All with the knowledge of EFC. Something clearly threw a spanner in the works with our window not panning out as hoped so they pulled the plug on his move. He then hits the nuclear button by making an attack on SDs perceived pulling of his plonker and then it's all his fault and he's a terrible nuisance best out the door. I'm sorry but it takes a few to make such a car crash and some rehearsed interview (where he only touches his nose once) gets the mob it's green light to go all in on the player. I wouldn't want any of you to do jury service.

InTheBlue, spot on! Gray going for 8 mill after the crap he came out with had to happen. I am with you on Cannon. Personally I believe he could have done it in the Prem (watched him at PNE) but I am not his coach and/ or Manager. Mind you without FFP concerns the decisions would have been different.

Cannon is not good enough and would have had limited playing time with us. £7.5m was a good bit of business.

I got the impression in the video that the club had played their part in trying to offload him. But upto the point of no return and not beyond it. Probably in case the window didn’t go the way they wanted it in the last few hours. Which is what happened. SDs issue was that Gray was telling the club what to do and that of course isn’t on at all. You just can’t have the tail wagging the dog.

I like the way that SD spoke which agree with it or not, believe it or not, was straight talking to the media which when most hide behind secrecy and spin is a refreshing change.

All I hear is moaning and groaning about the club not coming out to state this and that. So fair play to the man for fronting up.

Sadly now Grays behaviour has come to the fore when it could with a bit of patience and class have been handled more privately. I don’t blame the club for that. I blame the player.

Rumoured £10m for Gray.
Think that’s a decent return on a player that cost us £1.5m and quite frankly isn’t that great.

Genuinely not sure why some fans are up in arms about him leaving as if he was a great player. He was poor - 4 goals and 1 assist last season is not great. He was also given a run out as a number 9 and didn’t do well.

He also appears to have a really poor attitude - disrespectful in his post - he also had issues at previous clubs.

Best to get rid of him.

Understand frustration that window shut for incomings however we brought in danjuma and Harrison and also have Dobbin back from loan so there is cover for him leaving. We could also use some under 23s if necessary.

FBS, he's been a bad apple at his last two clubs, allegedly. His behaviour has been anything but professional so, as fans, we should just take that on the chin? He hasn't been training because he wants a move? That's fair enough but he has to dance to the club's tune rather than the other way round. He doesn't find himself a club and think he's ok to move, football doesn't work like that! The fact that other players from our club are no longer following him on social media suggests that he wasn't as popular as some fans believe. If his attitude stinks then good riddance. Hope I'm on the jury if you're ever in court ??.

So the only thing you have is caveated with "allegedly"
You made my point even more succinctly than I did.
In the name of Joe Friday. "Just the facts ma'am"
As for him engineering a move in your post, he didn't. EFC sanctioned his agent to accept approaching clubs because otherwise that'd be "tapping up" and then at the 11th hour after the club gave his shirt to another new player and didn't include him in any squads even though he'd played international football and was more fit than reported. And even though bids were accepted for him and the manager shut down any questions about him all summer. It's his fault? It's just another mess that has been atrociously handled and now the fans go ape because of a shiny club video. I remember when Rafa did one and everyone was praising him for his "honesty and direct refreshing cander" too. It's about as nonsense as kissing the flipping badge. I'm embarrassed for you.

He hasn't failed or had any medicals.

FBS, you're actually the embarrassment here mate. Because an opinion differs from your own, you throw in insults! Get a grip, you think what you want and the rest of us can think what we want.
I used the term 'allegedly' as, believe it or not, I wasn't there to witness his behaviour. Same as you. So, I'm basing my opinion on the fact that there has been reports of him causing unrest, in one way or another, at his previous clubs. Then I'm looking at the situation with us and he has been unprofessional. Again, that's my opinion. You can reply if you want but I won't bother reading, your posts generally bore me to tears anyway. I'm embarrassed for you that you're embarrassed for me as well, pal. Have a splendid evening ??.

Tapping up is rife, it’s commonly accepted. Most clubs will now only bid for a player if they’ve had the green light that they’ll accept a contract if a fee can be agreed.
In relation to Gray - none of us know the whole truth. Ok to have a difference of opinion without mudslinging. I don’t do social media and I’m not of a fan of these cryptic posts that players put out.
We’ve made a good profit and I don’t want any players in the club that’d rather be elsewhere.
I’d be happy with Lingard on a short term deal up to January with an option to extend.

Oh dear FBS. Your whole argument is based on a post and rumour in the media. I'm basing my view on a witness statement with a more detailed explanation from one of three parties involved.

Add to the fact Grays previous record at two other clubs only backs up the prosecution. But hey you make your own conclusion from a one line post on social media!

Talk about a flimsy defense!

Leicester wanted to keep him but hey change the history so it fits the next media narrative. He didn't want to stay in Germany (a very common problem for players going abroad, sometimes they just don't like the massive change and so are allowed to end the nightmare)
Again you seem to hit my point without realising. I'm stating the mob mentality of killing him is exactly the problem. And I'm pointing out that Dyche and the club have much more than a 3way split on being the naive cause of yet another badly unprofessionally handled car crash that is easy to avoid. Dyche is a child. Just watch any of his press conferences and take the desperate blue tinted glasses off and see his utter distain. He is very immature and incredibly passive aggressive. When the wheels fully fall off, you'll all start to see it.

Don't want to slag SD off but getting bored with how all the problems and defeats are because of what happened at the club before he came? We all no that but I still don't see what style he wants to play after being there since January and having a full preseason with the lads. i know we haven't got a big budget and I'm happy with the player's we got in and out except for cannon hope we got a sell on clause or buyback clause . considering he is known for being defensive I brick myself everytime the opposition attack us because we are shocking at the back. i just hope we start getting some results or the bookies may be right. i hope we stick with him though. COYB.
