None of us know our real financial predicament other than it's tight so money in will be a real asset, and an Onana sale makes sense to me especially if Doucoure makes a quick return, Sean has got our present team playing as good as it will get so all credit to him, any incomings would probably come from the lower leagues, but hey if Sean can get Dele up and running and back to his best maybe we can get a cheap deal from the Spuds a fit Dele playing well would be a real bonus.

We paid what? £35m for him? I like him considering he's young, raw and has a lot of improvement ahead but playing here in a relegation team continually hasn't exactly been the greatest spell and he has some fans on him as an infuriating player. He's not made the leap forward to really command a satisfactory return. Sure we won't make a loss but I don't see anyone paying more than £40m for him and arguably for that maybe better deals elsewhere are to be had. The only real big sale we have is Branthwaite. The interest is European wide as well as top tier premier League. He cost bugger all and some say he's £80m (maybe one day sure) that sounds to me to be the only deal on the table and the only one we could sell for a meaningful profit. We'd also be able to survive with our existing CBs (admittedly a little less comfortably) . This window will be a real insight into what is truly happening behind the scenes and how desperate things are.

I just Hope Branthwaite stays with us, he makes a big difference to our Team now.

From what Sean said no one is leaving as the squad is thin . Onana will be a world class midfielder. If we had our 10 points we would be 10th and the way we’re playing we’d be looking to push for a European place. Next season that could be a reality . Do we want to be selling our best players?

I don’t want to sell anyone either, but if it meant we were relegated because of a few million then I would sell Onana to keep us on the right side of FFP.

I think once the deal is done we’ll be fine and there may be funds available at the moment it’s in doubt and it may be dependent upon FM being gone. He’s obviously not going to put funds in and finances are probably tied into the deal. No doubt Ed2 will advise us accordingly, I’m not getting into finances but just talking in general terms.
Would be genuinely grateful if you could give us a steer on the situation Ed 2, also I would think SD and KT will have a plan and be able to move quickly once the deal is completed.

As Ed002 said the situation is dire. Not sure P&S wise where we are but cash flow wise we are a mess. We are not covering our day to day running costs and are borrowing from 777 each month, we have a stadium to complete and the interest costs to fund the stadium to find
If the 777 deal falls through and we don't have a plan B god help us

FBS - regarding Onana we will have written off/ amortised one and a half years of his 5 year contract so maybe up to £20 million to be shown as profit if we sell him and maybe the full amount of any fee in cash flow terms

I've seen more from Branthwait in the 10 or so games he has played than I've seen in Onana in the one and a half seasons he's been with us and, in my opinion he's already worth more than Onana who hasn't yet lived up to his hype

If we can keep both, great. If we can only keep one, it's Branthwaite for me as long as we can generate enough from the sale of Onana.

It's not about disagreement BW but if you were in "dire straights" do you sell the one for small change only to have the wolves at the door in a month or so or do you sell the one that perhaps wipes out a year's worth of hassles? Especially as you don't care for much other than money as you're selling up.
