I used to work with a Blackburn fan and we was talking about Ben Brereton Diaz about 6 months ago when he got injured.
I said to him your promotion push is scr*wed now he is injured and he wasn't impressed. He said BBD hadn't been great till the last 12 months and didn't understand what all the fuss was about.
I pointed out in that time he had become a Chilean international and he had probably progressed with training with international players, which again didn't go down very well.
My point is this lad is ambitious and has took a slightly unusual route to being a sought after player. We have seen with Iwobi with us and Joelinton at Newcastle that if a young player has the right application they can come on leaps and bounds.
I rate this kid, he knows where the net is and is a presence, I remember him coming through at Forest and big things were expected of him then.
The £12-£15m fee doesn't seem unreasonable and in theory we are the next step up for him, plus he is already based in the North West so there is no great upheaval for the lad, I am quite excited about it, watch now it will be announced he has signed for Leeds or Nice and my rambling on will be pointless??.

I'm worried he becomes another Andy Johnson if he signs for us. Or abit like Alan Armstrong at Southampton. But until he signs and pulls on Jersey and plays, we won't know.

Diaz and broja is an upgrade on what we have . Wouldn’t mind us having a pop at dembele watched him a lot at Celtic and just rejected a new contract!

Dentie, AJ wasn't too bad for us, he scored a few goals anyway. There's plenty of others that were shocking though!

Aj did well I agree, but he wasn't consistent in 2nd season.

AJ started to go down in the box too easy in the second season. Refs cottoned onto it and before long the pens were turned down on some truly obvious fouls on him. Soon after that he lost his confidence and that was the end of that.

Up to that point I was very happy with him. Good striker.

AJ scored 2 when we hammered Liverpool and he made Reina look a clown in doing so. For that alone he done brilliant for us, IMO.
