hi ed I can't help but feel we are skint and bill is just waiting for 10 to 17.00pm on the 2nd of September to agree a deal to sell 1 if not 2 players and we all no who that is and then it will come out we have made a 20m bid someone we have no chance of getting and say we tried but the players wanted to go and we just ran out of time .what do you think ed iv seen it all before you see.gibbo {Ed025's Note - thats a bit pessimistic gibbo, these people are professionals mate..

I'm totally with u gibbo. I said this at the start of the window. We are so predictAble! I understand transfers are not straight forward and there a lot involved but look at how spurs have conducted themselves bringing players in this summer. Job done straight away. I reckon all these names being branded about is bull. It happens every time but we never seem to bring them in! To get the season tickets sold prob!
I agree - it looks like the same pattern as every other year! Wouldn't be surprised if late bid already agreed between bill and moyes

Sell to who? As far as it seems Man U have put a £12M bid in for Baines Do we accept that for a play who has got to be worth twice that amount?
At the end of the day if teams are panic buying and throw in desperate last minute bids for players all we can do is say no, unless the player involved makes it clear they want to go and submit a transfer request. The best we can do is have realistic targets in mind and be ready to act quickly if we need to.
It doesn't just happen to us remember, other teams have the same issue. And it is one that will continue until the F.A grow a set and put a stop to it, for example a rule that says any transfer request has to be lodged 24 or 48 hours before the close of the window would help. Or only bids that have been agreed in advance between clubs can be done on the last day of the window.
I would say I am a glass half full too Ed, problem with being an Evertonian is these things happen time and time again which makes the fans become cynical and pessimistic. If by the end of the window we still have Baines and Felli then maybe fans will become a bit more settled and get behind Bobby, if they go late on without strengthening watch how many "glass half empties" turn up at the match and start getting on the back of the team, the manager and the board.
