Well Ed at least you're full of optimism. None of these players have a ridiculous market value yet you think it's unlikely we will get any of them. Is that because you have no confidence in the clubs ability to attract player or because we are skint? If its the latter how much money do we actually have to spend?

{Ed002's Note - Obviously it was a waste of my time doing this. There are all sorts of reasons why it is unlikely that players will join. For example, Sergio Garcia wants a new deal where he is; a deal for Lukaku would have to involve Ross Barkley and Lukaku has lots of other option; M'Vila is going elsewhere.}

Well done Ed all makes good sense!

5.) 12 Jun 2014
Thanks for at least taking the time out to post it. Not all were unlikely and I expect there will be a lot of targets you don't know about. Either way your time is appreciated

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

Ed why would a deal have to involve Barkley? With Costa signing for 32mil Mourinho evidently doesn't want Lukaku as a 1st choice striker, realistically Everton are not in direct competition with Chelsea, presumably he has a value, if Everton can pay that - which they should be able to given increase in revenue and profit in previous transfer windows - what makes them different from anyone else so they have to involve a part exchange?

{Ed002's Note - Some months ago Lukaku did something which resulted in taking the immediate decision to sell him this summer. They may not have made that decision public, but I have explained since that day that the club intends to move him on. In his defence, his player liaison guy has worked very hard to get Chelsea to give him a second chance, so far to no avail. Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, Wolfsburg, Atletico Madrid, Newcastle, Roma and Spurs. Shakhtar, Zenit and Everton are interested but not viable options. I suspect the Borussia Dortmund interest has gone. Liverpool has shown no interest to date. The only chance that Everton would have would be to include Barkley in negotiations - as Chelsea has an interest in the player. It is not going to happen.}

Hi ed, are Everton not a viable simply for money reasons? Or has Lukaku got his eyes on bigger things? Just interesting that Spurs are on the list and not classed as 'not viable'

{Ed002's Note - See above.}

So reading between the lines, Chelsea want Barkley we don't want to sell so Chelsea are holding a gun to our head by saying unless we include Barkley regardless of if we match the valuation they won't do business as they have other clubs willing to match the price they want so they hold all the cards. That about right?

{Ed002's Note - Not at all. It is what I said it is. Suck it up and move on.}
