PGMOL to issue an apology to Everton regarding the Seamus Coleman penalty claim

Allegedly VAR didn’t review it as we’d already had a penalty!

If this is true someone needs to be sacked, it beggars belief and the premier league need to intercede. How many apologies do we need to get for it to become obvious to everyone else there is a bias or an agenda or worse corruption within elements of the referees and VAR officials.

{Ed025's Note - absolutely Big C, and it seems like all these mistakes seem to involve us FFS, it should be scrapped imo until it is fit for purpose mate..

Just read a piece in a Nottingham newspaper online quoting Dermott Gallagher, he said in his view it wasn’t a penalty the Seamus kicked Colbacks foot as he was about to kick the ball. (Not sure if he meant Seamus or Colback was about to kick the ball but either way Colback is behind Seamus and gets his foot in between Seamus’s legs and Seamus is brought down. ) He then goes on to say he spoke to many people after the match who all thought it was a penalty and in those instances where it difficult to call VAR won’t get involved. What is the point of them then they have all the technology and if it’s not clear let the ref have another look . It’s f. king shambolic.

DLad not sure what your reply means the PGMOL apology was reported on sky news, DG quote was from a Nottingham newspaper, these failures in the system of refereeing or VAR must have a causation factor. Which can only fall into two categories incompetence or deliberate. The cameras work the lines work the technology isn’t it at fault. The people operating it are not following the instructions or the laws of the game either deliberately or they are incapable. The infuriating and potentially catastrophic outcomes for our team as they are continually having these apologies made to them are costing us points we can ill afford to lose.
Why is it always us?
I appreciate that our position is largely of own inabilities off the pitch to buy a striker over several windows.
However had the second penalty been awarded and scored we’re 16th and not in the bottom 3.

It is a disgrace Big C. The fact that we keep getting these apologies and yet still keep getting decisions against us. In what possible way can an apology help us!

Why should having already been awarded a penalty have any bearing on the decision. If it is a foul, then it is a foul - it is an absolute joke.

The aftermath of these decisions is worse than the decisions themselves. It is like they are purposefully taking the p*** out of us. 'Apology' my ar$3!

Totally BlueNose. Seemed blatantly obvious to me it was a penalty. Thought I was missing something it was that obvious.

Apologies is a joke. Yet we seem to get our fair share of fines over handbags stuff. Boggles the mind where the ryhm or reason is with any of it.

Irrespective of var impacting our result at the weekend (by the way I agree it was and should have been a pen) with var aren't we putting the decision in the hands of several muppets rather than just 1?! For the record I was anti var from the off. It has absolutely no place in football and is a big factor as to why I'm getting increasingly turned off so called top flight football. I don't think any manager player or set of fans is going to moan about a marginal offside / nobody ever has. It's the effen obvious ones that they can't call correctly. Var not needed / better officials that understand and have played the game are needed!

Dele Ali handball, rhodri handball, de gea disallowed goal, as well as numerous other incidents. Var is a corrupt and bias entity.

Big C and Pauly I agree with both of you. Witty, the idea of video refs is a great one. It works in tennis, rugby L, rugby U, cricket etc.

In the majority of those sports the ref makes decisions or asks the video ref to make a decision or teams get a review, if the review goes there way they keep it.

In football it's like they make it up to suit their own agenda the mistakes are too big and too often. I have said for years, we have the best league in the world but the reffing is nowhere near up to scratch. The entire reffing culture, training, reviewing of decisions after games and lessons learnt needs overhauling. It's run worse than EFC.

I’m not sure anything is run worse than Everton FatChris.
