A point is a point against a good team but we are far to negative at home.

The lads did well, Dyche has no idea, no subs cost us, why o why more than one goalkeeper on the bench? they played Wednesday?

I look at our bench and don't know who to put on. Patterson would have made no difference at right back and not sure whether Godfrey would have got closer.
I would have been tempted to go for Beto for Doucoure and got one of them to drop in when we never had the ball.
Just don't see the bench changing games much.

He could see we were struggling, I would of brought DCL off and put Godfrey just Infront of back 4 and then patto for young who was to slow against minoto
2 points dropped as he's scared to make and purposeful change.

hes not scared he is just clueless and the sooner he goes the better
everyone knew in the ground that young would struggle against their winger. for the last 30 mins he should have taken off doucore and replaced with beto.

{Ed025's Note - i think a few of you on here need to apply for the managers position if it becomes vacant, or at least become advisors..

2points lost today and we’ve not lost in the last 3 games so bring on palace.

I agree Ed 25 - it’s so easy from the sidelines to manage!
Credit where it’s due. I thought SD and players deserve a massive pat on back for their efforts today and past week. We all know our bench isn’t strongest but everyone gave their all today and but for a lucky deflection I thought we kept a very good team to very few chances!

{Ed025's Note - i feel the same PHH, we are doing great with what we have got mate and even though its not beautiful football its effective and just what we need in our position..

Frustrating to only come away with a point but not sure why everyone moaning about subs.

Team were playing well, why change it for the sake of it?

We made subs against villa and lost all cohesion and struggled.

Not sure earlier subs would have made any difference to the result, should have put the game to bed earlier.

Edd mate, can you explain why he has two sub goalkeepers? and its not the first time. and if anyone has played at a high level would know its an insult to come on in the 90 min, unless you are time wasting.

{Ed025's Note - i dont know the reason Lee but there must be some kind of logic behind it because other teams have done it mate..

Ed 25 that post was for your managers post.

{Ed025's Note - i got that mate.. :)

I like Dyche Ed and think he is the best manager we could have at the moment but his reluctance to make substitutions is costing us points

The vast majority of us 'non managers' could see there were more than a few tired legs out there and we were struggling to hold out against a team that had already made 4 substitutions

Dyche, for some reason refused to make any and we paid for it by conceding. What makes it more galling for me is he then brought on subs and the difference was palpable and we could have won it

Another case of 'if only' and there's been a few of them this season

As I said I think Dyche is getting a tune out of the team but should change things around sooner.

{Ed025's Note - i get why supporters say that bw but i didn,t think we were in any danger myself and only a massive fluke stopped us from winning that game, now whether a substitution would have changed that is subjective and Sean made the call in what he thought was the best interest of the team and i can live with that mate in our situation, i dont want it used as a stick to beat the manager with because i think he is doing a tremendous job..

You're right it's all subjective ED. but I saw tired legs out on the pitch and felt we needed to use our subs to run out time and give a bit more cover/ energy to the defense

Dyche didn't and we conceded a goal and 2 points. This isn't the first time he has shown reluctance to make substitutions this season and it cost us then too.

I'll say again that I support Dyche and that he is doing a good job for us. I'm not calling for his head but I do think he is making mistakes on his use of the bench and needs to look at it.

I'm guessing but think a statistician would find Everton have the least number of substitutions and substitute minutes on pitch in the EPL. Maybe some of it down to squad strength but some down to managerial judgement

I agree he is doing a tremendous job but we could all always improve in some areas.

{Ed025's Note - I can see why some would agree with you bw and maybe your right mate. I’m just cutting him a bit of slack because I thought the game management was spot on yesterday against a team with superior players..

NSNO Ed.

{Ed025's Note - that has not been the case at this club for a long while bw, its make do and mend at the moment mate and in our financial predicament i cant see that changing any time soon im afraid..

Ed25 I don't even think they had superior players. Brighton had possession but that means nothing. I think that with our defence holding up we are now a good counter attacking side. Unlucky deflection yes but there were very tired legs out there. Like BW I think Dyche is good for us (the next Moyes! ) but game management includes knowing when to substitute and it's timing, I am afraid in that respect Dyche dithers.

{Ed025's Note - Brighton have some really talented players DFS and imo they have great ball retention and skill, but saying that we nullified them for the most part and looked solid all game, maybe subs introduced earlier may have worked i dont know but i thought we were unlucky mate..

I think a big part of the tiredness also links with the mid week game.

16.) 06 Nov 2023
06 Nov 2023 08:35:52
The point I was making about NSNO Ed is that it doesn't have to happen overnight but we should be trying improve in some way, some aspect everyday

Ronaldo and Messi are fated as being 2 of the best players ever but they would often be the last off the training ground because they were trying to be better

Dyche is doing a good job for us but it doesn't stop him (or the team) from improving and game management is an area for him to consider.

{Ed025's Note - im hoping that will come in time bw, that will come with recruitment of players i believe and of course we all want to see that, maybe Sean is not the answer long term i dont know, but for now im happy with the progress and the fighting spirit he has instilled at the club, not the easiest on the eye for some of us that witnessed the school of science but a vast improvement from recent times when we were questioning the commitment of the players mate..

17.) 06 Nov 2023
06 Nov 2023 09:25:20
But the point is that Sean can improve, we can all improve. Not all overnight but in small increments each day. We shouldn't have to wait until he goes for him to improve his game management

He wouldn't play Branthwaite at the start of the season but he changed his mind and look how we are playing now

An open mind and small steps that's all I am looking for.
