Do we have any interest in lacazette? Would love him to come, can play on the wing as well as up front. If Newcastle are good enough for him surely we could get him?

Do we have a GK target then? Seems like Howard might go, can't imagine he will want to stay if Joel does keep him out although I wouldn't put it past Martinez dropping me again.

If Joel proves himself as a consistently reliable keeper during the rest of this season, then he'd be number one going forward and any new keeper would come in (initially at least) just as backup. Who of quality would be up for that?
If Joel doesn't convince, then why keep him at all. We'd then need two new keepers - UNLESS one (or more) of our numerous U21/ U18 keepers is ready for the first team squad.
in my humble opinion, the goalkeeping situation at Everton will be just about the toughest recruitment issue to address this summer. Oh for a young Nigel Martyn - or a young Neville Southall - on our books :-)

Lets give Joel the chance to be the young Nigel Martyn or Neville Southall. He may do it. I'm very impressed with him so far. His penalty save was vital in last game. God knows what would of happened had he not saved it. Was at a critical time.
Joel deserves every chance. I think he was very professional and patient waiting for his chance. He deserves every chance he gets after the past 18 months.
Howard was a very good player for Everton. Time to give next generation their fair chance.

Personally I think Rom will stay. I think he'll say he will give us one more season to get CL football and if we don't get it he will leave.

If he does decide to stay another year then it'll be because of who we sign as a show of ambition. For this reason we must be more ambitious in the summer. And early too. No need to scrimp with the last minute deals. Get them in and do it early and let's show some intent this summer.

Hope to god you's are both right. That'll be another season without CL for him and he would be taking a chance that we would qualify for it next year.
Please let me be wrong but I'd go 60 - 40 that he'll leave. With the leech in the background pushing him for a big day and a top European club in the CL next season along with a big pay rise, it would be hard for him to refuse.
I think its the leech that will be at the centre if anything happens.
Nothing make me happier than if he stays. He has some future ahead of him.

What does everyone think the chances are of us sacking Martinez? I have a horrible feeling that we're going to stick with him and by the time we do get rid it will be too late to even try and convince our stars to stay.

Re Robbo and getting rid of BROWN SHOES.
We need to act in such a way that the board are forced to take notice.
I have been deaming for years of the moment we got a BILLIONAIRE owner and yet I feel totaly fustrated.
I FEAR I WILL HAVE TO PAY FULL PRICE FOR MY SEASON TICKET NEXT SEASON as I will not be renewing my ticket if RM is in charge so I shall have to wait till last minute to see iv he is still here.
i am NOT going to put myself through another season of him .
nb been going since 59.
I just hope the board do read these posts.

To be fair paul I don't think he would have had much say in the transfers. I also think that he's a good man manager, the players know he won't be there next season and he's still managed to get them to fight their way to the CL semis.

To be fair to them lance they shouldn't have to stay behind. Anyone who is a premier league manager, scratch that, any football manager, knows to practice set pieces. Yeah he might think they're old but they're still in the game! Ed how likely do you think it is that he will get sacked? I have a horrid feeling that he'll still be here next season.
{Ed025's Note - i have that feeling as well robbo and i will be very disappointed if he is mate, he has made far too many mistakes to be kept on surely..
