ok blues. we all want the younger players to be given a go. my question is, now that 4th is looking less likely, would you be happy with moyes saying this season is over, with the exception of the fa cup, and giving the like of stones, duffy, barkley, lundstram, mcaleny just to name a few a few matches. the same goes for next year? would we be happy with moyes saying we are going to have a mid table finish next year to give these lads a full season of prem league experience to see if they can cut it? then the season after, play them again if they look up to it or transfer money that we won't have spend in the summer can be re-invested? basically what I am saying is why not give the yound players a chance next year, except mid table footy ( which is what we have been doing the last few seasons really anyway). that way we know there is a clear plan for the future. or would we rather spend money in the summer and more again with the inevitable sale of fellaini and never see these kids again? and realistically finish no better than 5th next season as that seems to be our limit with dm unfortnately. so spend money or give the youth a go? just a question to you blues

1878barlow

1.) Id rather the young lads be eased in gradually which moyes doesn't seem to do, and imo should of been doing, and not to be dropping them after one bad game destroying there confidence in doing so. that way you still got a core of experienced players in your team for these young lads to learn from. if he would of been doing this over the years its possible we could of had the younger players ready by now to make the step up and to step straight into the first team. oh and lowering the average age down of our now ageing squad by the way.

2.) Fair point jimmy. just an overall question to blues. I think undoubtedly a bit more youth is required, especially duffy as cover for distin who is getting on, a cm as cover for leon as he looks knackered now and is not influencing games really (despite 2 goals in 2 games I think his performaces I the past 1 or 2months have not been up to scratch) cover at left mid for pienaar who again like osman looks tired, and a cover striker. so duffy barkley and vellios really. too many players like osman and pienaar no they are not going to be dropped for a game or two to keep them on their toes.

time for moyes to change his mindset and go out to win every game, even against the better teams or time for us to get a new manager. fed up of this top 10 is a good achievement rubbish. he too often goes out with the mindset to not get beat, hence the rigid, predictable 4-5-1 formation every game. same players, same formation, same style. duffy in for heitinga at cb or even distin because let's face it for a guy of 6foot + he is not as commanding as he should be in the air. also barkley should come in for osman. and vic in for felli as if the rumours are true about felli he should never play for our great club again.
team vs city:
much
coleman duffy distin baines
mirillas barkley gibson pienaar
anichebe jelavic

subs:
springthrope
heitinga
oviedo
kennedy
vellios
osman
mcaleny/long

coyb! positive result on sat is needed

1.) Asking moyes to change his mindset is like asking someone to change their personalty, he is what he is a negative defensive manager he sets up his teams the same way whether we play Manchester United or tamworth and no amount of money or better standard of player will change that, and that's why we need a change of manager.

2.) Same style, same players, same tactics, same subs, same times they come on, same way of conceding every other week. If we can see it then every PL manager can see it and therein lies the problem. Predictable, stale, boring football. What happened to the free-flowing attacking football from earlier in the season. The facts point to Moyes only being capable of producing for half a season. Why are we expecting anything different this season than any other? He raises our hopes and expectations and then reverts to type when the going gets tough. He needs to grow some balls and stop being a coward but after 49 yrs I can't see him developing any at this late stage.

moyes's interview with keown in the paper has given me renewed hope that he will sign a new deal. he sounded a lot more positive and I believe a good cup run will put the smile back on his face. although we moan about him at times, who else seriously at the moment could replace him? martinez? no way. he has spent a similar amount as moyes over the years and look where we are compared to them in the league. the only appointment I would be happy with is zola or poyet. zola has more experience than at west ham and both managers play some good stuff. but I want moyes to stay and like I said, that interview gives me more hope that he will. my only problem with moyes this season is his reluctance to give barkley, duffy and oviedo a go. but he knows best. I know everyone says it every week but I have this gut feeling that jelavic will score today. I really do. coyb and let's shout the house down today at goodison.

1.) Let him go

pienaar was outstanding yesterday as was mirillas. Coleman looks like he's turning into a top right back to. I must admit when moves switched mirillas and pienaar wings I was unhappy but it proved to be a match winning decision (goes to show why he is the manager and not me). thought felli did ok in spells and it was no coincidence we starting creating chances when it was played on the floor. vic looked good again when he came on and thought ossie and gibbo had better games than they have of late. only 2 negatives yesterday. 1) no clean sheet. conceding from yet another cross and header. 2) jelavic didn't score. I was so desperate. for him to. was gutted vic never cut it back for him and shot instead. but think that shows his team mates no longer have much. confidence in him. oh and one. more negative is the injury to jags. hope he isn't out long and play duffy not heitinga.

you have to love going onto the official website, looking at injuries and suspensions and seeing both fellaini and anichebe's injuries as unkown and time out unknown. surely they know what the player has injured? they can't be that bad at their job? and they must have a rough time frame. hibbert is still unknown. did he have open-heart surgery or something? we have never heard anything about a time frame for hibbo. as usual our club to fans relation regarding injured players is poor.

1878barlow

1.) Two thoughts:
First, why tell other clubs about our players' injuries.
Second, judging by how many times players have come back too soon and been injured again, I can understand some prudence in saying how long they're likely to be out.

2.) Moyes has now said hibbo could miss the rest of the season. ok I can slightly undertstand the time frame bit but to not specify what the injury is? not even a body part? come on

I agree with the second poster. every manager knows who we will play, what system, who the subs will be etc. the only changes from sat will be gibbo for neville and maybe vic for jelavic. but we will play the same formation and the same style. same old same old. big progression in the first 5years under moyes, none in the last 5. time for a change maybe

U also forgot to mention bringing every player back for a corner in the second half despite being 3-0 down. disgraceful

To do with the stupid premier league. we played 2 home games over xmas in about 4days and if you remember the weather was so bad, some games were called off. waterlogged pitches and playing 2 games in 4days doesn't help. even united's pitch is a state.
