I'm not sure if this is the best location. How much development in Walton Hall Park would be allowed? Surely we want hotels, apartments, leisure etc to compliment our new ground too, they are part and parcel of the modern game.
Personally, anywhere along the Waterfront where lots of development can happen would be my preference.
Capacity wise, there has got to be 55,000 who will go to the game, surely? For less desirable games a small price reduction would ensure a full house (in my opinion).
We are only talking an extra 15,000 seats, and a lot of our seats don't sell because they are restricted view.
1.) 15,000 is a lot, that's almost 40% of our current capacity
2.) If RM continues with the attractive winning football and we are challenging domestically and in Europe, then we should get big attendances. I just hope we can have reasonably priced tickets (relative to other Premier Clubs) even if (when) we move into a new stadium.
3.) There is almost always a large attendance hike when clubs move into a new improved stadium. So we can expect the same. Especially families. Due to more options for adjacent seats that become available therefore increasing maybe a family of two to a family of three season ticket holders.
I think 55k is well within our reach.
4.) Build it and they will come
{Ed025's Note - it could be our "field of dreams" baz...what a great name for a stadium!..
5.) I have heard the Canada dock
and the botanicle gardens in wavertree
