Ed I've just read what Stubbsy was meant to say on the Mirror website regarding Baines wanting a move, they are also quoting that it was the who had the original story.

I can't see Stubbsy coming out with that statement because he knows it would piss off all Blues badly, no way would he say Baines wanted to leave, the club would kick his ass too if he did

I think its just lazy journalism again and they have twisted his story around, he needs to make a statement on the club site about this too soon either way {Ed025's Note - you could well be right degs..

DegsyEFC

1.) Baines did want to leave

L4 4EL

2.) I read the article and it is total tosh. There are no quotes stating Baines wanted to leave, just quotes on the club digging their heals in.

This isn't lazy journalism, this is blatant fantasy.

Those 2 rags are shocking. There are 2 people who must be very angry with this lie. Stubbsy and Baines

Utter Rubbish from 2 rags that clearly don't rate us.

Toffee ace

3.) The Daily Manc stirring the shxt again. Absolutely no way Stubbs would ever come out with such drivel. The man has far too much integrity to speak about Baines and the club like this in the press. Cave man journalism, Murdoch style. And the Metro? The Beano that you get for nothing on the bus, would'nt wipe my arse with it.(Wavertree Blue).

4.) Thousands in Liverpool hate them . for writing a load of CRAP like this .

5.) Totally agree. Sadly some fans actually believe what these so called journalist write

6.) Don't know if this is were its from but did anyone see the soccer am a few weeks ago with stubbsy on? When asked about Baines and fellaini he just laughed and said "if they pay enough", could be recycled from this once they thought people has forgotten about it?

7.) He's obviously said it, or uttered words to that effect, or these journos would be subject to a libel action if it were untrue. Very naive to believe otherwise and very naive of Stubbs to say such a thing.

8.) If big if Man U are below everton and van the man wants to leave.and everton are in top four why would you want to go and play for the ginger one no one should want to leave are great club with are great team and great manager

9.) 20 Sep 2013 20:21:05
Last poster. you are very naive if you believe journos don't lie

degsy

10.) I'm going to start reading the Daily Manc and the Metro Beano everyday and believe everything that they say.because I'd be naive not to. (Wavertree Blue)

11.) Stubbs should be disciplined by the club, it's not the first time he's done stuff like this, he advised Rooney on going to Utd he did not conduct himself we'll when he went to Sunderland on a free, making comments about Everton inserting a cancer clause in his contract.

Let's be clear on Baines Stubbs has stupidly gave the press ammunition to try and put a wedge between Baines and the fans.

As it's been said all along Baines would not ask for a move although if an deal was agreed between the clubs then he would be interested if not he fully committed to Everton. Utd are champions and in Europe so I can't blame home being interested but this lad knows how to do business properly and respectfully. But for god sake let's get him signed to a new contract.

And Stubbs sort your head out.

12.) Did I say 'journos don't lie'? No I said you'd be very naive to believe he's not said anything resembling what he's quoted as saying.
I know journos lie and make stuff up to sell papers and fill column inches but to believe Stubbs hasn't said a word IS naive.

Snippet off the web this morning blues:

DAVID MOYES is ready to fight Roberto Mancini for the £10million capture of Leeds ace Sam Byram.
Manchester City boss Mancini has already earmarked the right-sided player, 19, as a top target.

But the deposed Premier League champions face fierce competition from Everton chief Moyes, who has identified the whizkid as a perfect replacement for Phil Neville.

DegsyEFC

1.) Replacement for leighton baines!

2.) He's a RB

3.) Im a Leeds fan and let me tell you, this guy is a superstar. Hope we don't sell him although if we did, i'd rather he went Everton than City.

4.) What was the point in signing Stones then

5.) Byram wants to stay at Leeds, BM wants him to stay, gfh want him to stay, Leeds don't need to sell, guess that means he's staying at Leeds

6.) 25 Apr 2013 21:30:37
Leeds or Everton

Mmmmm let me decide now

Of course he would want to leave Leeds for Everton, anyone with ambition would, no offence to Leeds though but as they say "we are in a different league to you"

Degsy

7.) 26 Apr 2013 20:34:01
Agree, what was the point in signing Stones? Unless Moyes see's him (as I do) as a great centre back in a few years.

COYB!

8.) About him wanting to go to Everton for ambition. He certainly has ambition. to get leeds back into PL which he has stated multiple times.

He's not interested in Everton, he will only go if forced like Becchio; I wouldn't want to go to a club who has the odd good season. Fully expect Everton to plummet down to their usual mid table positioning next season.

He's proud to be playing for Leeds, we need to keep hold of our youth like him. {Ed025's Note - how very dare you!...everton are a massive club, with a proud history, while leeds were once a decent side, they now languish in mid table championship obscurity, and have very little chance of improvement!...you are now regarded along the same lines as bristol city and barnsley(no disrespect to them), and fighting relegation to league one is your main objective...while we my friend are fighting for champions league places, know your place!!, and show some respect to teams who are far superior to yours..

9.) Very little chance of improvement? I have to disagree. Byram came from our youth system, we have several other youth players who are now on professional contracts. If we can keep hold of youth such as Byram and expose new talent to exciting football on the floor we have quite good potential to improve. It may be 2-3 years yet but if we can hang on to people like Byram who want to wear the shirt we will hopefully be back in PL.

We have to see the state of our transfers in summer but I expect Byram to stay.

Right Blues I think I already know the answer but here goes

What are you looking forward to most about tomorrows match ha ha

Does it begin with L

Was going to stay in and get the radio out as still recovering from last weekends wedding piss up but just changed my mind and can't wait for the first pint to flow down at 1pm

DegsyEFC

1.) Personally I can't wait to see big L unleashed. Surely he's got to bag a goal, and especially as big Sam tried all summer to sign him.

Wham 1- 2 Everton ( Big L, and Naismith)

If any of the doubters are still thinking Barry is a mistake then please read the last 5 comments from tv from his previous fans, they will know better than us

maccers saysSeptember 4, 2013 8:10am

I'm not convinced our midfield is anywhere good enough yet this season and letting him go so soon could be a big mistake. Whilst he struggled with CL he was outstanding in the Premier for us. Good luck and thanks for the trophies Gareth!

Reply 0 0 maddad saysSeptember 4, 2013 7:53am

Villa still have, nt replaced him

Reply 0 0 mcfcwayne saysSeptember 4, 2013 7:03am

Citys lose is evertons gain, Gaz baz as been one of our best players since the money came in. Week in week out he plays well. Good luck Gaz thanks for being at city and playing so well.

Reply 0 0 bluedownunder saysSeptember 4, 2013 7:01am

As previously stated, I do not know why he was allowed to leave City, particularly on loan and then effectively on a free at the end of the season. His knowledge of the English game is something that City will lack this season - all the signings are from overseas and will need time to adapt to the EPL. Great deal for Everton though - at least he will not play against City! Good luck Gareth - thanks for the hard work you put in game after game.

Reply 0 0 chris saysSeptember 4, 2013 2:30am

well why not - everton is a good opportunity for any player. great team spirit with great supporters as long as you give 100% the back you but the fans do not tolerate fools lightly.

Sorry about the long message guys but I for one look forward to seeing him in action

DegsyEFC

1.) Everyone has there opinion it doesn't make it wrong. I bet even Barce have a skeptic that doesn't rate Messi as he doesn't defend well enough. i'm with you on this though I think Barry will be a good signing.

2.) 04 Sep 2013 10:31:18
I agree mate everyone to their own, was just showing what his own fans think about the guy, just not the Everton way to slate a new player before he has even been given the opportunity to put a shift in.

Just want to say to our ED (25) what we have all been saying for years mate, Top man and hope you finally enjoyed a night off last night, much appreciated.

All the other Ed's are spot on too and do a great job, especially No 2, great replies and always give me a laugh, very bossy lol

Keep up the good work {Ed025's Note - cheers degs..

DegsyEFC

1.) Is this a bromance blossoming ;) {Ed025's Note - it blossomed a long time ago mate.. ;)

2.) 04 Sep 2013 12:18:10
ha ha

Im a sensitive soul at heart mate, unfortunately no bromance though as the wife to be on 14th Sept may have something to say about it. {Ed025's Note - two timer!!...lol

Im made up with the additions myself, if you would have offered me a striker from the prem yesterday there is no way I would have guessed Lukaku, this guy is awesome.

Lets give Barry some support as he is now a Bluenose and the City fans are all wishing him well and sorry to see him go, they see him more than us and you don't get to play for your country if you are sh**e.

We all know McCarthy was not worth that at the moment but he will be by the end of the season, he was desperate to come here so there will be no lack of passion or commitment from the lad.

We can all have a good laugh at Melt Down Utd too, pissed myself when we held them to ransom from a potential 20 million plus add ons to 27.5 million now please, well done BK but we are not stupid mate and you had better hold some of that cash off for January.

Transition period for us so let's not give Bobby too much hassle, onwards and upwards I say, well maybe next season

Sorry forgot, 6 million for Vic, great deal.

All the best Big Vic and hope you light up the prem mate, thanks for the work put in form all us Blues, you will always have a little place in our blue hearts.

Third poster spot on, let's enjoy the lad whilst we have him, none of us are stupid and we all know deep down that 99.9999% of players are in it mainly for the money, obviously Baines is in the small minority and the guy is a legend to us all. If Ross becomes an outstanding talent then he will be off and none of us should blame the lad for anything, just enjoy what we have

Sorry to be a doom monger Ed and Ox but if he turns out like we all expect him too then he will be gone in a flash, money talks and you couldn't blame the lad if he did go to better himself. I would be off in a blink of the eye if someone doubled or trebled my wages.

The only way we could keep him (if he does turn out a beauty) is for a billionaire to buy us, sorry for the bluntness but deep down we all know we don't have a prayer of keeping him or any other wonderkid we bring through, maybe if the rich guys on our board gave instead of taking then we could keep our stars.

I sound a bit like Mike there, must be marriage kills the happiness

Last poster you are wrong mate, there is now way we would pay 125-150k per week for Barry, not in a million years mate, not even if he was a free loan signing, no way Pedro

I have a feeling this happened in the OP's head last night after a skinful, Stella and funny dreams go together like gin and tonic, would be nice if it was true though and maybe has some legs as Kaka has taken a large chunk of their wages. I would say at the minute there is a 10% chance and that is only through hoping

ye never know Ox, he may just run his contract out until 2015 then come home, can't see it myself mate but you never say never.

It's not as if he will need the money now is it, I think Man U will offer him another contract soon, I think they doubled his money last time he wanted to go to 250k per week, can't see them increasing that though but they may extend it for 5 years.

To Rooney - just come home in 2015 mate, you can then start smiling again and enjoying your football with people who genuinely love you, not glory hunting southern softies

I agree Si, went out for my stag do on Saturday and an afternoon match was sorely missed, roll on Saturday, married at 1130 and in the club for an all dayer from 1230 onwards, horse racing, Everton live and beer, what more does a wedding need mate.
