One manager to keep a eye on in next couple of seasons is Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin, they beat Rangers last night and he has played 16 winning 15 and 1 draw, completing against old firm very well ATM
Remember watching a piece on him on sky when he took over couple months ago and been watching their progress, 46 comes across very well and he took his previous club Elfsborg in Sweden from obscurity and established as a top 4 team there.
Now not saying he is ready and totally different kettle of fish is English premier league but one to see how develops moving forward, he could be obtainable in summer and young with past record of turning smaller clubs around to compete against the so called bigger boys, let's face it they was a guy who came down from Aberdeen nearly 40 years ago and turned around a under performing sleeping giant and he didn't do too bad did he. ????.

Never heard anything about him Mocker mate but would much prefer someone like him than the regurgitated s*** names that normally do the rounds.
What style of play does he have?

Not really too much of Aberdeen matches TBF Bluenose only highlights and what read about him, seems like quick passing tho doesn't apparently have a set style of play but is getting a lot of success from isolating wingers and fullbacks one on one and getting the ball in the box early, something we don't do but not sure ATM if right fit as our squad profile lacks pace in these areas and quality and probably bit early in his career to take the big jump, could see him going to one of the leading championship teams and building from there perhaps but the trajectory he is on think quite few eyes be on him both media and clubs, early days mind but 16 unbeaten albeit in Scotland is no mean fate especially competing against the Glasgow clubs. Like you I'd rather go on this kinda route rather then the usual names thrown out there, just a question of if he has a strong enough personality to take that next step. One to watch though moving forward to see how his career goes.

Getting the ball in the box early? What is this sorcery?

He took up a 'local' team to first division in Sweden that was really good achievement. They where no favorite but outsiders going up.
In Elfsborg he had a few very good season one where they pushed Malmoe in to the last match. Elfsborg have probaly half of their budget or even less. When he took over Elfsborg they where in reglation battle but the team was at least mid table level.
I still would want Rydstroem from Malmoe rather then Thelin. Rydstroem is something totaly diffrent to most trainers and play very diffrent then other teams. Yes right now it would not suit our team due lack of creativity.

Thanks Swe_toffee, not heard of Rydstroem but will keep a eye out ?.
Reading from the Elfsborg fans they spoke highly of Thelin and same vibes coming out of Aberdeen currently, watched his interview on sky and seemed come across very well, also see today BBC sport have a article about him in depth. Be big task for both with us though be a interesting one for us to take, just hope Friedkin doesn't go down a "named" manager just for sake of it and has a long term plan and stragery for our club which I wouldn't be against the likes of Thelin or the Malmö guy given a chance to clean us out and rebuild the club, be ideal time looming.
