Should never been in these positions in the 1st place. How the mighty have fallen. I always wondered where we could of been after the cup winners cup win and the ban on English teams out of Europe.

Maggie pulling the English sides out of Europe (we weren't actually banned but crucified by the state) definitely killed our future. Obviously we still had another title and fa cup win to come but we could have become a mainstay of the top table and we'd have only ourselves to blame for blowing up. Such a shame but here's to the future now. Hopefully with all the twists and turns and new foundations at BMD and these new owners we will eventually crawl back to being one of the big clubs and not just the old club that is only in an elite group because we didn't get relegated several times it's been close. Be a intriguing next chapter. Who knows what's next?
I think next seasons bottom clubs will have more points than recent years and we will be lucky to have had our nightmares during an era where you survived with such pitiful tally's. About time we addressed some of the most embarrassing stats in EPL history. 1 of only 5 mainstays but with the worst records amongst those. Funnily enough the old big 5 at that.

Very few teams stay at the top table for a prolonged period of time. The European ban hamstrung us massively as I believe we were definitely the best team in Europe at the time.
We have definitely seen the standard of football become almost embarrassing over the past 35 years but hopefully we can start the long road back now.
Like so many older posters here, I can remember the glory days and thinking that they'd never end. My kids have never even seen us win a trophy so I'm desperate for us to get back up there for them.
I like how TFG aren't always in the media or making bold predictions, proper business people by the looks of it. Alongside Davey and Kinnear I'm hoping for steady progress and hopefully to be challenging top four places within 3-5 seasons.
