I was adamant Barry wouldn't make a player but there is one there. Dewsbury-Hall came good today aswell, seemed to me he was playing from deeper (his prefered style) as well. Wrong about Grealish today also, came in more from the flanks and was excellent, such a pity he can't shoot for toffee, strange that with his skills.
They all played well. Good result against Sunderland as well as it happens. Baffling why we were off it against Spurs. Onwards and upwards.

If he brings in others to score I don’t personally see an issue once he buries a chance more will follow. His demeanour is of a pee’d of bloke but hey guys let’s not judge a guy in a new country and league to harshly, he put a shift in today and the fans appreciated that.

Seemed to do more of the basics better today but that should be the base line for every performance imo. I get that scoring goals is not easy and when attacking players don't do that, you expect them to make up for it in other areas, which neither of our lads have been doing.
That free header he missed off a great ball in was another clear of example of the lack of finishing quality though. Quality chance squandered again.
It isn't hard to look better than his previous performances. Still nowhere near good enough imo.

I really don’t think today was a case of people overestimating his performance because it was an improvement on past games.
I genuinely think he played really well today, that performance is levels above what DCL was doing for 2 years when fans wouldn’t stop harping on about how “he offers more than goals”.
If Barry does that performance every game, goals will come.

All about confidence the lads getting just needs a goal. But how often have you seen foreign players taking a season in the Prem before they click.

Was he not offside for both our goals, missed a sitter with his head, tackled himself on the wing and faked a neck injury - must of watched a different game - same as Beto - tries 100% but ultimately hopeless in front of goal.

Only thing about Barrry that needs stamping out is when he does something wrong, he hits the deck pretending he got fouled or is injured. But he was much improved footballing wise yesterday.

Firstly it wasn't a sitter, and Ndiaye was offside for the first goal. Fortunately the fans at the game appreciated the effort the lad put in. Unlike some who just want to pick fault.

Whilst it wasn't a sitter, it was a very very good chance to score. He had no defender impeding him, could see the cross from the moment it left Nidayes boot. He should have scored or at the bare minimum forced a save from the keeper.
He is a professional PL footballer, getting paid tens of thousands of pounds a week Brass. For that reason alone, he should be putting effort in every single game.
Definitely did more of the basics better yesterday and his work rate was much improved but nothing more than that.

Brasington - not criticising- just being realistic. We have gotten to used to watching mediocrity that someone who tries his best should be praised - that should be guaranteed.
He seems so uncomfortable with the ball and such a unnatural finisher that he is going to be very frustrating - same attributes as Beto
You could sign any big lump to hold the ball up but surely we’ve got a move on from this to find a striker who is going to get 10 to 15 a year and that is neither Beto or Barry.
At least he is young and may get a bit better.
I got the same response last year when criticising Beto, but I don’t hear many people calling him to be first choice now.
He scored 55 goals in the last 4 seasons so I hope I’m proved wrong and he turns it around as seems a nice bloke.

They all do it dentielad, ever tripped up and accused the ground.
