Not bad for a player who doesn't get forward hey. Has arguably just got his team to a cup final.

Agree3 Disagree0

The other lad we are linked to has just got his nation to a final as well, scoring the winning penalty. Could have done with him against the Mackems.

Two bad penalties in that one to. I watched the not to B's penalties back, dear god not only bad but disrespectful.

{Ed025's Note - quite a few players take pens like that now DMS, maybe they were just trying to look like real footballers mate?.. :)

Laces ED laces.

{Ed025's Note - absolutely DMS..

Beto's still baffles me Ed/Dms. His run up literally closed the angle on himself to open his foot up. Those need to be in the corner with pace as anyone can see which side you are going. Dreadful.

{Ed025's Note - it really was mate..

Blue nose, you never know when to stop having a pop! I wasn’t impressed with Ben White he got a goal and a touch on a second assist so what of it, other than that he never really made an impact, you obviously rate him very highly and would like him at Everton, my opinion is still the same not the type Everton require, stop sitting on the fence and say what you mean, otherwise stop defending him via my comments on previous posts.

Uran you really need to give it a rest. You made a statement that White was "no good going forward" and I simply responded with statistical facts to measure his attacking output, which you then described as "derogatory comments".

Now you are saying I am "having a pop" because I said White's performance of a goal and assist in a Cup quarter final from RB wasn't bad for someone who doesn't get forward. Get a grip!

Other than a goal and an assist he didn't make an impact? I would wager that is quite an impact to have on a game of football. Down playing his assist as "a touch" is interesting. He bolted forward on the overlap to provide an outlet for Saka and put a cross in to provide a tap in for Gyokeres - that to me, is the very definition of offering something going forward.

Whilst I am not particularly sold on his character, I rate Ben White as a footballer yes. The ability to compartmentalise emotion to form an unbiased opinion on his ability as a footballer is fairly simple. He is playing for one of the best clubs in the world and is only not playing because they have one of the top 3 Rb's in the whole world keeping him out of the side. He would be a huge improvement on what we have now.

Fence sitting? What I said in the previous post and this one has been easy to understand, if you actually read the posts and stop reacting emotionally to fairly reasonable takes. I have already told you that I don't necessarily want him at Everton because I am not a fan of his character. I then provided an extensive list of (imo) more suitable targets for RB. To go into further detail, whilst I would not necessarily be against us signing him if that is what the recruitment team decided, there are factors such as price, wages and him stepping down from a title challenger to come to us that for me, could pose some issues.

They are clear and fundamental reasons why I don't WANT us to sign him, however I I found it nothing short of incredulous that you stated that he is "no good going forward" and disagreed. Nothing more, nothing less.

A number of other posters disagreed with your post but I just decided to provide his goals and assist numbers. You then compared him to Michael Keane and further on Ben Godfrey and said he would have played more games for England if he was good enough. To which I replied with further statistical numbers and the reason why he opted to walk away from the England squad, due to a disagreement with the coaching staff - another reason why I don't particularly make much of his character.

Round 3 Ding Ding.

You have gone to great lengths in defending yourself in which I must complimented you on.
Ben White is a centre back converted to a full back, this can be a common occurrence with a number of clubs when they feel they need more physicality in the back line, especially now that certain central defenders have more raw pace than some fullbacks.
Everton have done this on numerous occasions especially under David Moyes.
Currently at Everton, as you know we have O’Brien operating the same way, I have no problem with this, however what they lack compared to a special-ist full back is when they go forward in the final third.
Typical example would be Baines and Steven Pienaar, Trent and Salah and so on, for me the full backs are the most important positions in the team ( having played in this position myself for many years)
So when I refer to Ben White as “no good going forward” I am comparing him to other top full backs
Like you said Ben White would not have a chance of playing for Arsenal in front of Timber!
Everton need fullbacks that can go forward and help with the like of Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye, Tyler Dibling, this type will also take the pressure off of our midfielders.
Our current full back are excellent in defending but for me but just lack the skills going forward, hence my comments on this forum when discussing potential signings for the club and for the signing to make improvements in the final third
We are all sick and tired in the recruitment policies at Everton and I don’t want the same issues repeating, paying ultra high wages and no real after sale value.

The Ben White playing for Arsenal would be a completely different Ben White playing for Everton
At Everton he would more of the ball and expected to achieve more, at Arsenal it’s totally different, he would receive the ball, give it to high quality players to do their job, he might not get the ball back again because they know of his limitations
For me like I have already stated that Ben White is a good player and better than O’Brien but he’s of a similar type same and not what I would like Everton to invest in, nothing to do with his character or fake sun tan
Everton recruitment might well decide to sign him, if they do then that’s fine by me, I would wish him well and would welcome him too prove my personal opinion wrong and if so then I have no problem with this, as we all want the best for Everton Football Club.
