Admit it to who? Why do our fans seem to think that the club will directly let us know who we’ll sign, who we’ll sell, what they think of players.. It's all nonsense. Watch the games or don’t watch. Read the gossip or don’t. But don’t expect daily news feed from the club.

How about trying him in the 10 in pre season and see how he fares. The lad is still young, getting on his back won't help his confidence.

AB, I mentioned Trevor Steven talking about when he came to Everton when he was 19, the same as Tyler. Kendall told him he was dropping him for the whole season. That he'd train and travel with the first team and give him a chance the following season.
Now, Trevor took his chance the following season, although, as he said in his own words, he didn't light up the room at first, but eventually built his confidence and settled into the team.
It was another year after that that he felt part of the team and came into his own.
The problem is that no one wants to give young players a chance these days. I've even seen people having a go at Graham! After three cameos in preseason, at 18! It just blows my mind how little patience people have these days.

Bju, it is ridiculous some of the shouts from a section of our fans. Proper depressing reading some posts for me.
It's been a season to forget for Tyler, but, as you point out, he isn't the first player to join and then struggle in their first year. I've mentioned a couple of times in this forum how Baines struggled when he first came.
It happens more than us fans realise, not just at Everton, across the entire league and beyond.
I'll reserve judgement on the entire deal until the end of this season. I expect him to force his way into the squad and go some way to justifying his price tag. It's far too early to write the lad off just yet.

Seamus Coleman was farmed out to Blackpool because he struggled, and many others. David Beckham had a Champions League goal and was on the edge of the 1st team squad before being sent to Preston North End because he wasn't ready and kept making fundamental mistakes.
He was 19, turning 20.
18 to 23 years old is so young in a player's development, and the EPL is one of the toughest in the world to earn your stripes. We have to have a smidge of common sense when it comes to these young men.

Don't think Moyes is a good man manager tho, unlike Howard Kendall who was the best at getting the players fired up. Looks like most of the players today would rather be injured or sat on the bench, letting someone else take the blame for mediocrity.
We need a manager that will get these players wanting to run through walls for Everton Football Club. That's what Kendall was good at.

I get what you're saying, TL, but it was Moyes who managed Baines through his own tricky spell when he first arrived. I do agree, Howard was the better man manager, but those were the days when players went on the ale to build team spirit.
It's an entirely different world, the Premier League these days. How do you motivate players on over 50, 60, 70k a week?
