Some may label this negative or whatever but I just call it how I see it. Palace are not a good side and have a new manager. We get beat by 75% of teams today.
It is easy to start playing when you are ahead. We looked average or worse until KDH came up with a Steven Gerrard into the Gwladys Street strike - what a hit. Next week will be a lot tougher but brilliant to get 3 pts on the board.
Happy for Barry, but that header was going anywhere but the net. His work rate looks to have improved which is certainly a positive but his touch is abysmal.
Armstrong is a player and can't believe his age.
Hackney showed glimpses of what he is about. Loves getting on the ball.
Rohl is far better than J'O at RB. Good to see him offering an option but I think it would be nice if we could play him in the middle where he is best suited.
Let us all pray that JB stays fit.
Good to see Jimmy back.
Ndiaye is just a brilliant footballer.
Hopefully this RB comes in and a Striker. Then the icing on the cake would be a LB.

A lot of teams are not that good and have a new manager this season, that was another reason why it was vital we kept ours. Fulham, Newcastle, Tottenham, I'd chuck Forrest in there. I'm certain there is more, you've still got to go and win the game anyway, which we did.
3 points at home, clean sheet, Jimmy's back and we'll still have players to come in by the end of August. Get in. Great start. COYB. ??

Palace are a very good side.

The first half was poor but we grew into the game. The main issue in the first half was Rohl was going forward, but Armstrong was as well. He needed to fill on for him, and when Armstrong was forward, Rohl needed to stay back.
In the second, they all had a chat and came out much better.
Palace are a really bad side, and I think they will finish where they usually do, in the bottom half.
I think we will only get better and better. Need some additions still, but maybe Munoz. Doue is a better option.

Our first win on the opening day in 5 years, so it was all about getting the three points. Great to see Jimmy back. We really need a proper forward, UTFT... On a side note, all the money spent and Spurs are crap.

Far from a bad side mate.

Tell you what, Bleeds Blue, that Sangare looks a brilliant signing.

I have to agree with BN here and i'm just saying what I saw too, the first half we were opened up in midfield time and time again, palace got through our midfield with ease and it was normally just 1 simple pass, it was quite worrying and a better side would have had 3 goals in the first half, i'm not blaming Hackney and Armstrong but that will never be our 1st choice combination when everyone is fit. George did well, Illy grew into the game and I do like Hackney, he loves getting on the ball and getting us going forward, Rohl did ok at right back considering he's not a right back, Barry is still frustrating as when Dewsbury hall broke he played a great ball to Barry and he got it snagged in his feet without even getting a shot off which is criminal, it was like he was in a 3 legged sports day. In games where it is tight these are the fine margins you have to get right, Defence was ok but a few mistakes from Tarks early in the game. Beto couldn't even lay a pass off two yards. Overall a great win and I certainly believe there will be 2 or 3 more coming through the door so we will be stronger at the end of the window than the start. All that matters is 3 points today and move on.
Enjoy your weekend fellow blues and ED 25
{Ed025's Note - cheers Col, i thought we were ok without being great but besides his goal Barry done very little mate, but he is on course to get 36 goals this season.. :)

Stop talking the lad down Ed, you always give him a hard time. He is on for 38!
{Ed025's Note - i was allowing for injuries BN.. :)

Yeh I don't think Barry's header was going in either, but we will take them goals allday.
RB and CF to come in, hopefully, and as BN says, a left back would be fab, but can't see that happening this window.
I've had a bottle of whisky aged 8 years locked anway and told the Mrs I won't open it until we win our next premier match on opening weekend.
So, sadly, the whisky is now nearly 13 years old and has broken out in acne, but I'm still drinking it. Cheers.
