Moyes interview after the game. Asked whether he feels they will be able to get players in before the window closes: "I'm not sure we will but it's not for the want of trying that's for sure."
Why doesn't that fill us with confidence!. I sincerely hope he's being coy and keeping his cards close to his chest.
I've said on here before that I'm neither for or against Moyes, but recently his gob has gone into gear without thinking!
If that interview response is sincere then it doesn't look good for more signings. I hope it's not obviously.
Wonderful!

Blue blood, surely his interview is a positive thing.
He's trying to get the powers that be to move.
We aren't offering enough to clubs or players and that seems obvious.
He seems to be getting the blame for Everton not identifying a new right back for the last 4/5 years when he wasn't even here.
Last season he stated Everton should be a club that is challenging and that seems to be forgotten.
Let's get behind the manager and players for once.

He is thinking straight and tempering expectations. We have brought in 5 with what we can do. Our finances are not yet in the position where we do not have to think hard. The Stadium is going to be a good income stream and work is ongoing.

No mate, it's not. It's a negative statement from him again, which he keeps doing recently.
I sincerely wish it was a ploy for the hierarchy, but he's not that shrewd off the cuff!
The powers that be already know what's required, and he doesn't need to drop subliminal messages to give them a kick up the arse! We all saw the CEO interviews. They know what's needed and are operating on that basis. If Moyes says "I'm not sure we will," then he's likely splurging his inner thoughts based on insider information.
It's not a case of 'not getting behind the manager'. You're twisting my words. I clearly said I'm not for or against Moyes, but that statement was clear as day.
I sincerely hope we buy the players we need. I sincerely hope we go from strength to strength and do challenge for whatever. Any true blue would. But we can't be blinkered to observations of his negative comments.

Ah, I'm just ignoring him and focusing on the football.
It was a great night last night. Really enjoyed the football and had a great night singing from the coach going down there to coming back. Bring on Bournemouth!

I thought it was an odd comment, Blueblood. It's the kind of conversation he should be having with the owner in private, not the wider footballing community on live TV. It feels like there is some sort of communication breakdown.
Some of his narrative of late makes it sound like we are relegation fodder.
Let's hope we get in a RB, LB, and striker, and hold on to Ndiaye. That would make a good window for me.
{Ed025's Note - a great window i would say mate..

I'm sorry, but I know I'm a DM fan (compared to the rest of the cr ** we've had managing the club in recent years) but he is clearly downplaying transfers cause if he went the other way and said we're going to sign 3 or 4 players then what would that do to the team that played out of their skins last night? It would be a slap in the face.
Managers have been doing this for decades to protect the players playing for them right now. I would have thought fans would know this already. If we don't sign anyone from now to the end of the window, then I'll come and eat some humble but I'm certain we will.

As long as he doesn't put the squad down in the process, Dog Peter. There are other ways to go about it, surely?
