Grealish name is mentioned over and over on here I wish somebody would hurry up and buy him and put me out of my misery, what the hell is the obsession with him
Someone please buy him and keep him away from our club.

I for one would be very happy to see him sign. Progression for me is in having a squad that is capable of challenging and winning games. We want to stay in cups and push for Europe and we haven't done that for an age.

Having 11 good players is not enough. Not only is Grealish a quality player, but he buys into the club, he wants to prove himself again, and he raises the profile of our club too.

Grealish is a level above what we have, though? Why would anyone not want him to sign for us? I find this very odd.

I worry about the pace of his game.

Unless we get in a forward who can break a defence down and score out of nowhere, we will find the opposition defence set before we get going.

Me and almost all of the Blues I sit with don't want him, I find it odd that so many on here want him. Nothing odd about it.
Age.
Injuries.
Wages.
Alcohol.
Too slow.
Bit of an idiot.
Had his day.
And his position is not that important.

My only concern with this is how often do loan players do really well, then when you sign them they turn to dog poo?

28 Aug 2026 11:09:04
He never had pace. He walks (every pun intended) into our 11, regardless of him apparently blocking one of the young players.
I don't care if we pay it or loan. Get him back. He was never prolific for goals but his assists are ridiculous. A much improved Barry, George Rohl, a new and promising Hackney, continue his great understanding with Garner would all shine more with his ability, and his idol status on and off the pitch is gold dust.

We still seem to be wanting to bomb players out of our under stocked squad, yet when Xmas comes and we have 5 injured and 2 or 3 suspended, where is the logic of being sniffy about Tarkky, Keano and possible Jack? Who will remember their comments when we go on a 10 game slump that costs us European football again. Utter madness. We need bodies, let alone players. 3 loans and 2 or 3 proper transfers and then we'd still have a ways to go.

{Ed025's Note - good points there FBS mate..

But, as some have mentioned, wouldn't Jack's wages hamper who we could bring in? We are still limited on just how big a wage bill we can have. So realistically maybe a couple of loans and that might be that.

28 Aug 2026 13:27:55
To quote the dearly departed. We probably shouldn't worry about the finances, as we don't understand what we're talking about. City supplemented 50% so his wages aren't disgusting, as it goes. We had Theo Wallycot on the same 125k, and with no transfer fee, what's this worry about a few quid? What we can't afford is to go buy 3 players for 150+m.

28 Aug 2026 18:15:31
People are just guessing as to how much he would be paid per week if he joined. I've seen some saying 250k, some 200k, but do you honestly believe the club will pay that much? Between 150 to 170k would probably be our ceiling for any new recruit. It's still silly money for what they do, but that's the modern game for you.
