To put a potentially hopeful twist on this Ndiaye situation. As much as I love Ndiaye, this is exactly how we need to be operating as a club, buying low and selling high. The timing is obviously horrible, but if we bring in Grealish, we replace Ndiaye's g+a contributions if he can replicate last season's form. Getting anything above 70+ million (and we should get more) for a player with 9 g+a both of the past two years is good business.
Is the timing bad? Yes, but from a Money Ball perspective, this is a good move for us. And, with Grealish, 4 wingers is plenty, although I do like the look of Mahoya in the Bundesliga. Let me know your thoughts on this.

Why swap Grealish for Ndieye if your manc, in my opinion, there's not much between them, so why wouldn't they just keep Grealish and play him instead of paying 80mil for someone new? That's the problem with the Premier League, too much money flying about.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I don't think Ndiaye is all that, never have. Very gifted footballer, no doubt, but his goal contributions are pretty low, and at 26, it's not as though he will get much better. I've seen a lot of skillful players come and go in my 40 odd years supporting the club and I think for the money, Grealish will bring the feel good factor, shirt sales, experience of winning.
The ball sticks to him, and his balls in the box are superb. I also think George and Dibbling will learn a lot from him.

That is the Grealish value (think James and the immediate sales) . It is a conundrum, though. From our first two games, it looks like we are trying to be a pressure side, and Jack does tend to slow our game down.

He drives us forward and gives space to other players. We missed Jack more than we did Ndiaye at AFCON.

I don't deny he attracts defenders, but my point was no good driving forward if it practically comes to a dead stop (bit ott I grant) .

Ndiaye is class end of, and, in today's market is worth a lot more than 80mil. People use his goal involvement stats. They would be much higher if he didn't have to track back and do as much defensive work. The guy runs himself into the ground for us, and I'll be gutted to see him go.
