I sort of think an old dog like DM can and knows how to lean into a siege mentality. Promote from within, use the sprinkling of what used to be classed as 'Utility players' and hope we get some luck and avoid too many injuries, and can keep a solid core of 15 fit who play week in week out. A couple of these players are gonna develop much, much faster this season, and a couple might crash and burn.
It's gonna be savage. I wonder if he'll eff off the cups now? I guess it's the old 40 points again for the immediate target? With this mess, we must assume we will also do sweet FA in the winter too. We now know our recruitment is unreliable.
