If you were the Everton money men - would you be a little concerned that Dibbling, Rohl, Alcaraz, and Aznou have all had so little game time despite heavy outlays - added to Barry being such a disappoinment.

Appreciate Aznou one for the future but we really need a Lt back - we are not big enough to have one who is not good enough and one who’s not ready.

If Moyes asks for 60 million + for a striker in Jan - they could point at the close to 100million spent not being used.

{Ed025's Note - i dont think Moyes has much say in what is being paid for players Sobs, its the recruitment team who need to justify themselves mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Not easy when you buy players then the manager doesn’t play them. Still recall people saying O’Brien can’t be good enough as the manager sees him every day.
And find it difficult to see how you can judge a player when you only give him half a game.

Players thrive on confidence and support from the manager, and at the moment a few of them appear to be on the wrong end of that.

I get Aznou as he doesn't have much experience in senior level football. Add to that, physically, he is not where he needs to be.

Rohl, unfortunately is competing in positions where our starters are near enough nailed and he has had some niggling injuries. Alcaraz is very much the same. It is pointless shoe-horning in him off the wing as he is half the player there.

Barry has been disappointing up to the last two games and his competition doesn't offer much more. We have no other options in that position, so it is simply one or the other. Personally, it is good to see Barry's work ethic is improving but I think there were much better options out there to get us goals.

Dibling is the weird one. He has already shown that he is physically ready for the PL and put some very good defences to the sword last season. I get that he has our best player ahead of him if he is to play off the right flank but surely we could have got more game time out of him later on in games or when players have been unavailable e. g. Grealish loan/city, KDH yellow card ban etc.

{Ed025's Note - Dibling may get his chance when AFCON is on BN..

So you want to change a winning team to keep the money men happy. I really do give up! Who are you suggesting we drop to give these players minutes? This page would be full of negative Moyes post if he changed a winning team and we lost.

27 Nov 2025 15:07:57
Who mentioned changing a winning team (though we have only won our last two) but anyway. Football is a squad game now not just about eleven players.
What I’m saying is Moyes knows he is going to lose certain players soon so it would make sense to give them a bit more game time.

Or we could just go with eleven and hope we don’t have any injuries?‍♂️.

27 Nov 2025 15:11:31
Don't need to change the team just need to give other players the opportunity to show what they can do. Five minutes at the end of a game won't do that.
Oh by the way, if you don't keep the money men happy then you won't be the manager for very long. Remember they pay your wages too.

We will see what DM thinks of Dibling when Ndiaye goes to the Afcon. if he starts Mcneil then i think we know the answer. looking forward to see who he replaces idrissa with on sat. Will he start Tim? Or play Garner and KDH in midfield with Ndiaye or Mcneil as the number 10 i would play charly as number 10 myself.

27 Nov 2025 18:05:12
You play your way into the team in training and when you get on the pitch. If Dibling was tearing it up, he’d be in. Let’s hope he takes his chance in the next few months.

27 Nov 2025 18:09:49
Agree Ron but Moyes doesn’t seem that keen on Alcaraz, so can see Tim coming in for Gana.

{Ed025's Note - the thing is that Alcaraz can be a bit gung ho at times BMD and im not sure he could replicate the defensive qualities of Gana mate..

27 Nov 2025 19:09:19
Id love to see KDH played in place of a suspended Gana and play Alcaraz in the no10 position. I love his direct play of turning and driving towards the back 4. Plus he us quite good with his head even though he's small in stature. A bit Cahill esq.

Comparing the levels of a PL football match and training is pointless. There are plenty of players who are completely different animals on the pitch when it matters.

Ndiaye is head and shoulders our best player, so I understand why Dibling isn't getting in ahead of him but there have been plenty of opportunities to give him some minutes and bed him in, whether that is on the right-flank or elsewhere. This is a much better option than just chucking him in out of the blue when Ndiaye goes off to AFCON and expecting him to hit the ground running without having had an opportunity to build up any rhythm or confidence, something which ALL attacking players thrive off.

This stuff about him "not doing it in training" is baffling. Why is a professional footballer who's attitude has never been called into question previously in his short career, at club or international level, all of a sudden going to become a bad trainer with an attitude problem.

Who knows the real reason why he hasn't been getting minutes. It could simply be an age issue, as we know the manager prefers playing more experienced players. That being said, we spent 40m on him and if he isn't going to be in the managers plans, we at least need to give him minutes to, at the very minimum, retain his value and then we can mark it down as a hit and miss and move him on elsewhere. Clearly what is not the right thing to do, is to just not play him and what his value fall off a cliff.

{Ed001's Note - he has had past problems when at Chelsea as a youngster, which led to him returning to Southampton. It was reported as homesickness, but there were a few claims at the time that Chelsea just wanted him out due to a poor attitude.}

27 Nov 2025 19:35:31
I never mentioned changing a winning team Reg - I think it’s reasonable though to give players time on the pitch who have cost over 100 million - if they are not good enough - serious questions need to be asked as to why - especially Dibling who we went back for over and over in the summer.

He cost 35-40 million - Moyes stated “he is quiet and needs to improve training and also learn game better” - strange for someone not to be ready to cost so much and only on a 4 year contract.

27 Nov 2025 20:38:10
Brassington Blue you keep the money men happy by winning games and raising the profile of the club by climbing the table and competing in the cup competitions not by playing players the manager doesn't think are good enough at the moment. Simple really.

27 Nov 2025 22:01:55
I got a bit of heat suggesting we had over paid for these guys (not on here) . 25-45m for a player should be starting in a team at our level if we’re being honest. Hope they get a go and prove me wrong.

{Ed025's Note - no heat from me Bobby mate...i agree with you..

28 Nov 2025 08:23:52
Not doing so well in the cup comps eh Reg?.

28 Nov 2025 21:53:14
I’m with you Bobby: I expected Dibling starting on the right each game and Ndiaye and Grealish to interchange left wing and the ten with KDH deeper with Gueye.

£45m for any player should be a starter.
