I think that the transfer window has been a disaster and unless we get a quality CF in tomorrow we will finish no better than 10th.
We were so so poor against Chelsea and RK appears to be no better than Martinez. at least RM had decent shoes!

Bill, Ronald, Steve sort yourselves out and get us a world class striker or else we could well end up in a relegation dog fight. Not since the days of Preki and Robert Wazyicka have we had a squad to be proud of. I ashamed to be an evertonian at present as all this money being spent on young "talent" is not going to win us the premier league this season and that is what I expect.

unless we see that Scottish idiot in his yellow tie slavering at messi or suarez turning up at finch farm tomorrow then my season ticket is winging my way back to Goodison!

. of course I'm being sarcastic and in line with the whungers on this site bemoaning our summers dealings - grow up and understand our football club!

When are the fans going to take responsibility for their part in the mess in which we find ourselves? . The reason we have had no stability since Moyes is because there is never any satisfaction - if we signed Messi someone would be moaning about his beard or that he isn't a true blue or whatever.
Last summer this forum was inundated with positivity following the unprecedented transfer dealings and the money spent. roll on a few weeks and everyone's calling for Koemans head.

Nev7611

1.) 15 May 2018 23:35:04
I didn't want him gone New but can you blame the fans?

He bought 4 no 10s, no cover for LB, a poor RB as cover for an injured Coleman. No recognised quality no9 and no replacement if that no9 got injured.
He was hardly winning the fans over with that approach was he?

2.) 16 May 2018 06:36:35
I am with you Nev7611. Remember Koeman and the red Christmas decorations? To me it all started in Moyes' time. He had taken over a team that was destined for relegation. Yet supporters were not happy with the progress he made. We had flirted with relegation for year after year with Mike Walker and Walter Smith. Yet even though we had got to cup finals, cup semis, Champions League and Europa League qualification, people were glad to see his "brand" of football go. I would agree that he said some stupid things and left under a cloud. However, when Martinez took over, the squad was neglected and very poor signings made. Lots of supporters could not see our over reliance on one player alone. The balanced squad that Moyes had created became weaker and weaker over the next 5 years to the point that right now I fear for our league position and we seem to be flirting with relegation again. We will lose 2 of our best players in Jags and Baines next season due to age. We will also need to replace many other players who have just not "cut it". eg Martina, Williams and maybe even some expensive recent signings. Klaasen? This is a major overhaul for any manager. never mind one new to a club. These sort of mass changes need to happen slowly over years. not in one foul swoop. Coleman is our one bright spark and what happens if one of the "so called top clubs" comes in for him? eg Man Utd. Then we will be in the mire. Lookman seems to be doing well. but there is talk that he will go to one of these teams. Look at the players that have come and gone since Moyes: Delefeo, Eto'o, Cleverly, Alcaraz, Kone, Atsu, Besic, McGeady, Lennon, Barry and Valencia. and of course Lukaku. Also look at how the ones still with us signed for big money: Sig, Shneid, Mori, Klaasen, Pickford, Bolasie, Williams, Gueye, Niasse, Keane, Vlasic and Rooney. That is 24 players we have signed post Moyes who together have done bugger all. Lukaku excepted. Ok you could also argue Rooney still does a bit and Barry was quality. There are also the likes of McCarthy who was very unfortunate with injuries and is still with us. But post Moyes.23 players of which 2 or 3 have contributed a bit. Maybe Gueye has also been promising too. but 24 signings of which say 20 have contributed silch to our club. Well at least not improved what we had before. This has turned into a bit of a rant. But your post was about how our supporters have been part of the problem. Well I agree. We have blown hot and cold over players, managers, board and directors. I guess that is part of football. But the way I look at it, is that putting a squad together takes time. I do blame managers and board for part of this. But like you, I also blame our "fickle" fans who wanted change at every turn. They want it again with Allardyce and no doubt will get it. Whether that will improve things. only time will tell. But the amount of change our football club has had in recent times is too much in my opinion. We do need some stability. as like in the Moyes years. You could pick the team week in week out then. Maybe one or 2 changes a season. We have been talking 4 or 5 changes a season in recent years. It is too much.

3.) 16 May 2018 10:42:43
Never.

30 Apr 2018 23:00:11
Fickle fans as per usual. get so fed up of the constant moaning from our fans if it wasn't Allardyce it would be someone else getting it.
From a dreadful position we are safe and almost achieved European football.
I don't particularly like Allardyce but we could have been in a lot worse position. if he moves on he should be able to do so with some level of dignity and respect as he has done what was asked of him. if he stays just get behind the club. could be a summer of positive transition or another false dawn - but isn't that why we are evertonians?

Big Sam or no Sam, the next season starts in less than 14 weeks. Everton plays onwards and upwards. Think of the next two games as the beginning of pre-season.

Stop the belly aching and fist shaking folks, we've been all making ourselves miserable. At the end of the day, this is supposed to be fun.

2.) 01 May 2018 09:51:34
Good sensible take on things gents totally agree.

3.) 01 May 2018 20:07:43
Are yous blind we are still terrible.

26 Nov 2017 20:22:58
Lets stop for a minute. had we not spent the money we did in the summer and been in the position we are in now we would be talking about a poor start to the season and not relegation - we are now comparing our position verses ridiculous expectations on the back of the big spend!

We beat Watford a couple of weeks ago and suddenly we are almost mid table. its a very congested league with little between half of the teams in it
There are certain players who clearly don't want to be here and if that's the case we'll move them on but for me the biggest concern is the apparent boardroom split who appear to be at odds with regards to the new manager. why o why would you sack Koeman with no replacement lined up? . they clearly haven't learned from the Lukaku debacle.
Lets see what happens this week as they must be close to a decision now - and whatever that decision is it is our duty to support the appointment.

Nev7611

1.) 26 Nov 2017 20:47:24
Nev, the problem has nothing at all to do with Lukaku leaving the problem is the way we are playing, The lack of respect the players have for the board, the manager, the club, the fans and themselves.

Lukaku was not the glue that held the team together nor is not replacing him the reason we now have the worst defence in the premiership. We have let in 26 goals in the last 8 games and that is due to the players acting like and playing like school kids.

2.) 26 Nov 2017 20:52:12
The worry currently is that we seem incapable of matching the opposition never mind outplaying them. Watford must still be trying to figure out how they managed to lose a game in which they were by far the better side. We are "nicking" rather than earning points even against the bottom club in the division. The whole situation is made worse by the fact that potential "confidence boosting wins that will kick start the season" such as the win against Watford turn out to be no such thing but merely the prelude to debacles like this afternoon. It does not instil hope never mind confidence.

3.) 26 Nov 2017 20:55:56
too true Grumpy as for beating Watford WOOPEEDOOO a missed penalty from Clev got us that fluke.

4.) 26 Nov 2017 21:00:58
What Boardroom split, don't read too many rags mate does you no good.

5.) 26 Nov 2017 21:12:29
Have you not watched all our games this season? We are poor and have been all season, nothing to do with the board. The problem is Koeman asked for productivity and got it. What he didn't realise is the productivity came in the guise of Klassen, Sandro and Vlasic all just squad players. Lukaku was a 1st teamer and hasn't been replaced. Barkley was a 1st choice no10 and he hasn't been replaced, Baines is one of the best left backs in the league but he needs cover or a replacement. Barry one of the best passers in the league left but wasn't replaced. We have bought well in Sandro, Klassen, Vlasic and Lookman but these are all for the future not now.

6.) 26 Nov 2017 21:23:39
you tell him mate.

13 Nov 2017 22:00:41
I think it's time everybody got real with things. we are NOT a big club at the moment - the only thing big about us is the problems and unrealistic expectations.
How typical that our period of big money investment has resulted in chaos, disappointment and ridicule and courting managers of the level who we have been linked with. Wholesale changes from the top down is the only way we will progress. time to say goodbye to the so called "legends" and get some real modern football people into the club or else the demise will only continue.

Nev7611

1.) 13 Nov 2017 22:27:00
Said that for ages Nev7611 but been slapped down (metaphorically) for it, Mr Kenwright saved us etc! I get that and eternally grateful but as you quite rightly indicate times change and we must change with it. There is a reason Mr Moshri was only allowed 49.9 percent and I believe it was a selfish reason.

2.) 14 Nov 2017 06:25:32
The reason he’s only got 49% is because that’s all he needs to have a majority as there are about 3% of shares out there that were lost in the war because the certificates were destroyed in the blitz. So 49% will go unchallenged because it’s impossible for anyone to hold more than him. He’s a billionaire for a reason and not buying a penny more than he needs is one of them. Mathematically in this case 49% is equivalent to a controlling steak.

3.) 14 Nov 2017 10:49:26
Total agree about a lot of unreal expectations would like to know what the demise continuing statement is about though the last time we won anything was 22yrs ago since then we have seen dross seen a lot of mediocre stuff and occasionally a bit of good stuff. I don't think this season will be any different from the last 10. Top 8 finish if we can get a bit of form back into the team.

4.) 14 Nov 2017 19:32:51
Toffee do not disagree with any of that, but would like the theoretical control to be factual. Are you telling me that Bill does not have any shares or enough to deny Moshri 50.1. Bill should be an honoury Chairman and let go of his toy it really is that simple, while he refrains the Club has no chance of meaningful progression.

This whole managerial debate is fascinating. I don't think there is a single true Evertonian that wouldn't want David Unsworth to get the job on a full time basis and be a great success. we love our "blue to the core" ex players, however we need a "foot on the ball" moment here. we are currently managerless, defensively inept, as low on confidence as I've ever seen an Everton team, out of the league cup, 99% out of the Europa league and on the verge of a relegation dogfight - and it's still only October!
I don't think even the most "glass half empty" Evertonian envisaged us being in this position just 11 weeks into the season. certainly on the back of a summer of unprecedented transfer activity and so much promise. should we continue in our current form then the relegation scrap is inevitable and the recently mustered squad has with the exception of Sigurdsson (how ironic) and perhaps Keane and Pickford has no experience for such a battle.
Such pressure will destroy the much championed youth players confidence and could potentially destroy their anticipated and hugely promising careers - the Ross Barkley scenario is a really interesting one for me - Is he a lot smarter than we give him credit for? . did he see this coming which is why he wanted out of his boyhood club? . his next steps will be interesting.

Back to the managerial issue. if you re-read the above you will surely realise that David Unsworth is not the right person to take on the situation as he himself could duly destroy his promising managerial career by taking on the role that we know he wants but is probably beyond him - for now at least.

Some stability, man management and Premier League experience is required - Immediately. there is no time to waste!
I'm not sure who that person may be but I just have to hope and pray that messers Moshiri and Kenwright do!

ALL HE ENDURED! . REALLY. this is a guy that gets paid more in a week than most of us earn in 2 or 3 years!

And he hasn't even had to do hardly anything for it. no wonder he's smiling so bloody much!

Listen he's a decent guy in comparison to other footballers and good luck to the kid but to state that he has endured anything. come on give yourself a shake will ya!
