Different ref, a VAR team that looks at all incidents and an opposition keeper that doesn't make several worldies and we get a result. No doubt the usual naysayers will go to town, I thought we chucked everything at them in the second half. We don't have the quality to be more than mid table this season.

Refereeing decisions were correct. We were far too slow and predictable. They doubled up on Grealish and Ndiaye and we had nobody in midfield to make the most of that.
We allowed Spurs to dictate the pace of the game, and again made changes far too late.
Our team selection and formation when playing at home is far too negative, and we don’t appear to have a plan B when things need changing.

Not having a half decent striker is killing us as well J B, spot on with your post mate.

The lack of formation changes and subbing like-for-like worries me JB. We need a striker / someone who can lead the line. If we don’t get our act together, we could be closer to relegation than the top half.

Well you can blame the ref. You can blame bad luck and a good goalkeeper and the loss of our best defender to injury but the bottom line is that they scored three and we did not score on our home turf. Apart from one or two obvious players we were slow and laborious. Too much back passing and booting the ball to no-one in particular, a mid-field that failed to dominate and two strikers who can't finish.
Spurs looked as if they could score from every corner.
We are better than this and Moyes better find some tactics that work better against teams like the Spurs otherwise even mid-table will be difficult to achieve.

Everytime we score Var gets involved and disallows the goal. That goal should have stood for us as the goalie made a meal of it.
As for their 2nd goal Van de Vin pushed Pickford and guess what? no Var. Ref was a joke.

Ndiaye was offside and he effected the goal by impeding their keeper. Pickford needs to be a lot stronger there. Couldn’t imagine Nev getting pushed off the ball so easily. Anything in the six yard box the keeper should be clearing the ball and anyone who gets in his way.

Agree JB
Good to have a fair opinionated post instead of knee jerk vitriol.

I agree Pickford should be stronger. But free kicks get given for fouls on the keeper week in week out with minimal or no contact. Today it was a clear shove and it's hard to think if wouldn't have been given the other way around.
Also, if we're saying Ndiaye was offside wasn't he offside from O'Brien's header? And what happened just before O'Brien headed it? He very clearly got shoved, 2 hands in the back.
Now it didn't matter because he headed it in - except that if they're saying there was an offence in the next phase of play (offside) why are they not taking it back to the blatant push?

Waterloo it was offside. Decisions were correct.

I can understand why they disallowed the goal. Some other decisions however were absolutely debatable. As many have said, and we can all agree, a striker is a must in January. In the summer, you’d expect full backs and a new DM to follow.
