So it would seem it is all Diblings fault we lost to Arsenal? All the “experts” on here have decided the lad is rubbish and he's the worst signing we have ever made. Yet no mention of O’Brien’s ridiculous handball, or the fact the midfield (all experienced) players did sod all.
No let’s just pick on a young lad who the club decided was worth forty mill plus, like it’s his fault.
Still it gives Barry, Beto and Micky a break I suppose.
{Ed025's Note - i dont think you are listening to the debate BMD, i dont know how many times i have to say this mate...nobody is blaming Tyler, they are blaming our recruitment team for buying a player who is just not ready to play in the prem just yet, a lot of us think the money could have been spent wiser for a player who is ready..

Totally agree with the last point Ed and think the money could have been put to use more wisely but can't agree that he isn't ready to play in the PL. His performances against Liverpool and United last season alone showed me otherwise. If he was used better from the start, he could have carried on with the confidence he built up from the previous season and we would already be seeing a different player. Instead we have a player who's confidence has been decimated.
Players, managers, pundits all spoke highly of him last season, you don't just fall off from that imo.
When Dibling started against Palace, which was all but forced on Moyes due to KDH being suspended, it ended a run of 185 PL games where Moyes had failed to start a teenager in the first 11. Moyes clearly has issues trusting youth which makes the signing of Dibling all the more confusing. When you have the likes of Grealish and Ndiaye to choose from, I get it but he still could have found more minutes to better-integrate Dibling into this team.
As for picking McNeil ahead of him, a player Moyes has clearly already made his mind up on, a player we have seen the best of already and to then play him out of position, where we have seen him fail to deliver time and time again is just a terrible decision. Dibling may not be the second coming of Kanchelskis but he is definitely a better option than McNeil in Nidayes absence.
{Ed025's Note - i agree on a lot of those points BN especially Moyes,s reluctance to use younger players and his penchant for older heads, i must admit i did not see much of him last season to form an opinion on him but the fact is mate that in all his wisdom Moyes just wont play him unless its a last resort...so while we have this manager at the helm Tyler is neither use nor ornament im afraid..

Probably a decent striker would have been a better option. There is clearly Something about Dibling that Moyes doesn't fancy.

Last Season Bluenose, he had the occasional fair game so did our very own McNeil, Beto, even Dyche. Southampton couldn't snatch our hand off quick enough this season. We go on about our coaches/managers seeing players in training and deciding on whether ready or not, including Ancelloti (his son in particular) decisions, but they are the ones employed.
I have watched the Lad and have no clue why he was brought in on the game time seen, unless of course the deal was before we got Grealish (Ndiaye on the left Dibling right) .

It’s not Dibling’s fault we lost to Arsenal BMD. It’s also not his fault we spent a stupid amount of money on him. It’s also not his fault the price tag has raised expectations of him.
If we had paid £10-15m for the kid to sit on the bench as a prospect then no one would be questioning his purchase. We’d still be asking why we haven’t bought a striker, RB or RW… the difference would be we’d still have some money in the kitty to buy them.
Instead, we’ve basically spent a small fortune on potential when we need players who can start games. Influence games. Do so much more than warm the bench. We’re in the top half of the table at Christmas so I’m delighted. However, without Ndiaye, Gana and a few choice injuries, our season could easily derail without depth in the squad.
I’m just counting the points we need to get to 40 and hoping we can continue the rebuild in the summer.
{Ed025's Note - spot on for me BR..

Not top half ? just saying.
22 Dec 2025 13:08:47
Most people would say 10th is top half DMS.

It might depend on your outlook on life JB and weather you are a glass half full or empty person.
Personally, I consider us rooted to the bottom of the top half….

Top 10 is top half. We’re 10th. All the chat aside, if we’d been offered 10th after 17 games with a win at Old Trafford and a win against Dyche, we’d all have taken it. Have to hole that we can continue to invest in January, and push on from here, one or two results go our way and 7th is possible.

I would take finishing 10th or above. There is no 9.5 position I guess.
