Good to hear from Moyes today that the board are supportive of bringing players in if we can find the right ones. We’ve played ourselves into a decent position in the league, be great to get a boost in numbers and see if we can kick on.

I think our priority has to be fullback, I know people will disagree with me but I think it’s worse persevering with Barry, he has made a lot of progress this year. I appreciate his currency is goals, which are lacking, but his link up play has been really good and he’s starting to bully defenders too. He’s liked better on the ball as well.

He’s welcome to stay and develop, but Beto can go and a replacement to lead the line for now. Be happy with a fullback too.

JB must be getting close to returning and Patterson improving I think a striker is our main priority, if possible would like a striker, couple of fullbacks and one other.

Regarding Patterson. I thought against forest he looked to bulky, looked slightly overweight. He gets turned and he himself cannot turn quick enough to keep up with the attacker. Just my opinion but the lad does look unfit. I remember Sevilla wanting him and maybe he could be used in a deal for their RB Sanchez.

That'd be the dream right back signing for me Dentie. Lads got both sides of that position, attack and defence to a very high standard.

Nor sure what the priority should be, a striker or a right-back. What I am sure about is that we need to get in proven players who can contribute now and are significantly better than the ones that we have.
{Ed025's Note - i cant see us doing much to be honest Mike, "if we can find the right ones" says a lot to me mate, its a bad time to buy which is true and we all know the odd sticking plaster is far from frugal, we will still do ok i believe and keep our powder dry until the summer, but this is no insider knowledge just how i see things panning out..

I support the approach of not just buying anyone that’s available, we’ve been down that road, but we can’t rule out more injuries and the squad is already threadbare. Safe option would be a couple of loan deals.
{Ed025's Note - i think its a sensible approach as well JB, we have all witnessed what panic buys brings us mate and thats chaos..

I have always been a Patterson fan and have said there is a player there. But is always injured and will be 1 of them when he leaves us will have a great career and we will say another that got away. Mybe us as fans put to much pressure on the young 1s.

He looked decent going forward, but still have my reservations with him defensively. Hard to know unless a player gets a run of games. Just look how much Tim has improved game on game. Up to him to take his chance over the next few weeks.

I'll be surprised if we get a decent striker in. No club wants to lose a goal scorer mid way through the season. Please no panic buy as I think Barry will score a few more and we'll have our full squad back in a week or two.
Full back is a must and getting Jimmy to sign a long contract is another must.

Full squad? As we’ve seen, players get injured, we don’t have the depth to maintain our position.

Right back. Sell beto and buy replacement if possible. Ano he not banging in the goals but I honestly think barry will in time. He is raw still, ano drives me mad but I see him improving all the time. The lad will come good. He just needs to bulk up imo.
