Looked online to see the Fenerbahce fans opinions of Youssef En-Nesyri, and it made for concerning reading.
Consensus seems to be that he's technically very poor, and has enormous issues with self confidence. which sounds familiar. As does buying a player due to a good record in Turkey.
Not sure if we are actually close to signing him, and I saw him play for Sevilla a few times and he looked decent, but i'm concerned we're just looking to add a third chuckle brother, and my faith in our scouts is absolutely rock bottom.

Sorry Alex have to disagree on this one, whilst I understand the Turkish league is basically a retirement home for players these days and the Cenk Tosun signing we made springs to mind but this lad does have a decent all round game and has good stats in a few different leagues, As BN said on the other thread he is a much bigger upgrade on Bill and Ben that we currently have at our disposal.
Also it would only be a loan with an option to buy so theirs no risk in the transfer.

I do agree that his record in La Liga is decent, Col, and as I said, he looked alright in the limited games I've seen him - which is an improvement on both Beto and Barry, who you could tell were poor within seconds of watching - it's just the way the comments on him, all posted independently of each other over the last year or so, all reiterated the same complaints - and they're the exact same complaints which apply to what we've got.
And, some may disagree, but I think Moyes' man management of players lacking confidence is absolutely dreadful, so that being one of those flaws is worrying.
Either way, as you say, not even signed him yet, and a loan with an option, as opposed to a mandatory clause, is as low risk as you get nowadays, but i've not got the best feeling about him.

One man's rubbish is another man's treasure, or something like that. We haven't even agreed a deal so it's a bit mad that he is being questioned already.
Fans are fickle, we certainly know that on these pages alone, so I'd take that with a pinch of salt. there's a multitude of reasons why players don't perform to the desired level of the fans but his record in Turkey is still better than our two up top. Is it 7 is 17 games? The Turkish league is one of the most racist in the world, could that have anything to do with fans slating him?
We can only judge by what a player does, or doesn't do, whilst playing for us, anything else is just noise. Let the lad get through the door and get on the pitch before the doom and gloom surfaces mate.
