I say to the few that reckon our squad doesn’t need any new faces till the summer, pause have a look at the table 4 from a Champions league place at the mo, none of us in our wildest dreams would think we could qualify for that I say we can, we get two or three good players in get our AFCOM lads back and get JB and KDH back we will be more than a match for any of them let’s go for it this could be our year bring it on and enjoy, very very exciting times are tantalisingly close.

One thing is for sure GB, if we get ANY European football next season, our new and shiny recruitment team need to pull their fingers out of their backsides mate. The increased volume of games and the quick turnarounds would absolutely crucify us.
We still have lots of work to do with our starting 11, never mind the rest of the squad to compete on all fronts.
Agree though mate, with the lads due back and players returning from injury/suspension, we are set for a positive 2nd half of the season.

Europe would be good though mate with all that goes with it, would love it again remember 1985 Rapid Vienna beat em 3-1 what a night would love for some of our younger fans to see what we have seen buddy.

I think we focus quite a lot on the duff signings.
What about O’Brien, Ndiaye, KDH, Tarks, resigning Gueye, and getting Grealish on loan. even Barry has started to come good.
I don’t know any club that signs players and they all come good.
Yes there’s been question marks over the logic behind Anjou and Dibling, but we won't be saying that if these end up coming good in a year or two. Brainthwaite was bought years ago and sent out on loan. No-one would argue with that bit of business now.
I’m not trying to gloss over anything here, Beto being my biggest case in point, but truth be told we’ve had one window since we were effectively skint and we are going in the right direction.

Agree blue nose - couple of obvious ones though - Beto needs replacing - he’s to similar to Barry and we need different option and Myko not good enough either
Think right back probs can manage with Garner/obrien/patterson - think Garner should now be in middle though and may help him sign if he gets stable spot in best position.
Bern impressed with Patterson - he was great in air yesterday - not sure he goes into next season as number 1 rt back - but sure should start next game in my opinion
Keep obrien as a centre back.

Wasn't meaning that Benny tbf, was more meaning that we haven't got anyone in this window yet. I understand the team wasn't in place during the last window but they have had months to plan for this window and it isn't as though there isn't any quick wins. As Sobs has rightly said with the post above.
If we were to be in Europe as well, we would need a lot of players to come in to compete with the added volume.

From one Blue Nose to another, I wasn’t seeing what you said as wrong mate. I get we haven’t got anyone in yet, but a striker on loan until the end of the season aside, I don’t think we’ll get hardly any in. Even though we’d all love to see it!
I’m a little more conservative (no not like that! ) than GB. I said on this page just before the season started that we’d finish 8th, just outside Europe and I kind of stand by that. We blow hot and cold and I think that would be a good first season while the rebuild takes place.
Lastly BN1878: Keep your insights coming mate, some of the stats and info you provide on prospective signings or our players stats is pretty good. I like reading your posts.

Been some hits and some misses for sure. Keeping our best players will be the first challenge of the summer. We’ve seen that some of the younger players can be part of the squad if they’re played in the right position. We’d need at least 5 signings to be able to manage being in Europe, probably more if you assume that a few leave the squad.

I agree on where you think we will finish Benny. I think we are a few short of being able to perform consistently and challenge higher up. Got to be happy with it though from what we have had to endure the last few seasons mate.
