Alright lads, good win against Villa but think some of you getting a little carried away. Remember we beat Utd by the same score and people then got all excited about that then Newcastle turned us over 1-4.
So yes it was a good result, but now have to turn Leeds over on Monday then Brighton on the Saturday. Both are possible wins for us but only if we can adapt our game plans. Give Leeds any incentive and they will beat us, I’ve seen it before. So cannot sit back and invite them on to us, we have to take the game to them, and this is something we have struggled to do at home.
Moyes has the core of a decent team now and with one or two changes we can strengthen again. Ndiaye coming in for McNeil will be the obvious one, much more forward thinking player, and if he is going to bring Gana in who does he drop, because for once our midfield looked half decent. Maybe only Rohl who looked tired near the end but then the lad had just put a shift in, and so to drop him would be a little harsh
I would say that this season has seen one of the poorest leagues in quality for some years so yes we definitely have a chance of European football, but to do that we need to strengthen the side.
People saying we have players coming back from injury etc, but we still had two keepers on the bench again? And our only a couple of injuries or a suspension away from a weakened team. The squad is to small and so we need to add to it. Obvious position is striker there are a few out there and if you have to overpay a little so what, qualifying for Europe and the money that brings would more than compensate for that.
As I said there are no stand out teams this season and this will be the best chance in a long time that we have to qualify for Europe. Moyes the players and the new owners have to go for it. As Elvis said “ It’s now or never” UTFT!

When we do have the likes of JB, KDH, Ndiaye and Gana back available, it may give us a bench to choose from for once and the ability to make subs to either see games out or change them. I can't remember the last time that we have had that option tbf.
Hopefully we are set for another deadline day like Barry, Mac and Rom, albeit in the winter. A fullback, striker and another wide option would be the dream but I will take the first 2 out of that mate.

Not getting carried away by one result. But I am happy with 10th spot after 22 games.
