Can’t blame Barry for the loss today, but he will never make in the Premiership. As for Beto, he has stepped up and his game and is far better these days. Can’t understand why our fitness levels are so poor; most of the team looked knackered after 60 minutes.

Definitely took a hit today to get into Europe, but next up West Ham, so cmon you Blues.

It is worrying that the players looked so spent. It's not like we are playing too many games.

Barry was awful, gb, and needs binning in the next window. But so does his competition. Beto is not much better despite scoring today. That shot in the 1st half would have changed the landscape of the game if it had gone in, but no, it almost went out for a throw ffs.

We can blame the manager, the tactics, the subs, etc, but if our forwards are wasting so many chances to get us a lead then we are basically p*ssing into the wind. Sick of it in all honesty.

It's not the end of the world but it still stings! Their fans are some of the worst away fans I've seen at our new ground. Only heard them 2 or 3 times, twice when they scored!

It's been mentioned many times, but our home form hasn't been good enough and I put that down to both the fans and players finding their feet at a new stadium.

We have to make it into the same kind of fortress that Goodison was and we will get there in the end.

A few games left but it has been a better season than we all expected before a ball was kicked. Improve the squad, finally fill the positions that we need to strengthen in and I think we will be sound for the coming season.

Hard to take that defeat today but we have to move on and concentrate on the Hammers game next up.

UTFT.

I've slammed Beto in the past, but he is miles better now than he was. Yeah, that shot was embarrassing, but his touch and his link up play is almost there. Hope he's ok after that smack in the face. Looked like he'd fractured his eye socket. ? ??

Actually, thought we were best team today, which I can't remember in a Derby for a long time. KDH was great. Once Beto went off, as I thought he had a great game, our chance was over. Let's move on and get 3 points from West Ham - COYB! UTFT!

That's the problem though, BM, because he's the best out of the two we give him a pass. I've lost count of the times his glaring misses have cost us this and last season. Nice fella, works hard, but just isn't good enough.

We need to make a statement signing this summer with a forward who can take us to the next level.

Sadly, Beto just isn't the man to do that. I'm not blaming him for today's defeat, but it could have been a different game if he buried that first half chance rather than trouble the corner flag.

Barry's control is worse than his awareness. That first touch is criminal. Beto has heart, but the scouting team needs to look at themselves. Neither player has a great first touch. But Barry leaves me scratching my head, he's not in control of his motor functions.

Chris Sutton made comment after comment about Barry and his lack of awareness, movement and touch. It was hard to disagree with any of the negativity he had regarding Barry.

Absolutely gutted with that result today as we did play well in periods, but our weakness with both full backs and in attack need addressing and have done for a few years now.

Barry's first touch is equivalent to a clearance by opposition defence. He has no interest, physicality, or skill. He's a waste of a sub and a position on the bench.
