Last five games draw, lose, lose, draw, draw. 3 points from possible 15. Definitely not the form that is going to get us into Europe. During this time, barring injuries, we have played the same players, used the same tactics, and made the same substitutions. While totally ignoring other players on the bench, or not making changes when certain players are clearly not playing well.
And don't give me the players on the bench are not good enough line. Rohl who appears to have been written off for most of this season gets his chance and shows us what he can do. Aznou looked sharp when he came on, haven't seen him since, and it's not as if Micky has been playing well. As for bringing Alcaraz on with two minutes to go, why? KDH was having a poor game, so why wait until the 94 minute?
People saying we have improved massively this season, well we are currently one point better off than last season.
But many will say at least we are not fighting relegation. Agree we are not but the opportunity was there to qualify for Europe and really kick on next season. That opportunity is now fading fast and it's down to Moyes negativity in games. His stubbornness to change things when they are not working, and this negative vibe he gives out when being interviewed.
We need to realise that this is no longer little old Everton who are punching above their weight (another line I hate) . We have new owners, a new ground which is generating income streams from all sports. Perhaps we now need a manager that can now take us to the next level, a manager who sees European qualification as a minimum and not something that would have been nice.

Best post for a long long time on here. Covers everything I feel. Didn't realise we are only a point better off than last season with 2 games to go.

Thank God for that. Time to update all your CV's and review the 'when I' videos.

Agreed, it will be interesting to see what response we have from the owners. It's a risk changing managers, and the easy way out will be to continue with Moyes and mid-table expectations, with the possibility of getting into Europe.
Unfortunately that's what a lot of supporters are happy with us achieving.
New players will help, but only if he uses them, and up to now that has not happened to most.

Agree with an awful lot of what you say, Brass, and the last two lines really hit home, mate. Good post.

I'm going to see where we are after the next two games. We can put it all on Moyes, manager has to take responsibility, but our 'top performers' have been just as responsible in the last few games.
13 May 2026 18:33:07
Well, I think if we win our last 2 games and those above us lose, then 6th is a possibility, I think. I may be wrong. I just hope Ndiaye and Dewsbury Hall have been staying back in training to have shooting practice.

Agree JB, some of our so called top players need to look at themselves, just not good enough in the last few games.

I will say to be fair that although we're just a point better off so far it was still Moyes who got most of them last season for the time he was there. But that's the only thing I would check on your post, Brass'. It's an excellent point of view which I fully support.
He just doesn't match the premium feel of the owners and the stadium.
We need to progress further and view this season as a stabilising one. The real question is can we go any further with Moyes in charge?

Really good read that and I do agree to an extent. There is always that feeling though, look at West Ham after they let Moyes go.
If you replace him, you have to get the right person in. There is no room for error.
Everyone wants a young, progressive manager but we're done that a few times too and it doesn't always work out. (Although Moshiri and his agents were a lot to blame for the dire transfer) .

Great post, Brass. ?
I am a Moyes fan & will always be thankful for every season he's managed us. However.
Is he the man to build a squad to challenge? Yes, he probably is.
Is he the man to be adventurous & go for the win when we need it? Probably not.
I think that if we want to win things, we may need a change. We are a massive club again & have to be pushing to get into the elite clubs at the top.
I do not know who the right man for the job is, but we have to get it right first time.
UTFT NSNO. ?
{Ed025's Note - he has done a great job since he came back WT and has given us back our dignity as a football club, i just feel that if we want to take the next step we would need a more dynamic type of manager, i suppose it depends on your expectations mate, he will keep us safe and in the top flight for as long as he is here but as regards winning things or challenging for top 4 then i think we may need to look elsewhere, he is very safe or even pragmatic in his style and his record against the better teams is abysmal...knives to a gunfight and all that. i dont speak for all the fans though and im sure some are happy with the job he is doing and thats fine..
