I think what is most worrying about the manager and this set of players is the amount of opportunities that we have had this season to climb up the table and cement a European position, yet every single time they bottle it and look half-a*****. That says an awful lot about their mentality. In comparison, if you look at Bournemouth's manager and their players and see how they have kicked on in the last third of the season, the contrast is night and day.
Moyes spent 100+ million in the summer and has managed to finish a point higher than last season, when the league has been absolutely wide open.
A measuring stick should be Newcastle. They have had an absolute car crash of a season, yet they now find themselves above us in the table.
Watching Sunderland dictate the play against us in our own ground was pathetic.
This team needs absolutely gutting. We need 3 starting defenders. We need a new 6 because Idrissa is on his last legs. I think Garner has suffered recently without him these last few weeks. I know I am probably alone in this but I don't rate KDH as much as most but appreciate he will keep that AM role. Ndiaye looks like he is already elsewhere, so we will need 2 wingers and a striker.
It is a good job that we don't Europe to contend with as well, because we have a big job on our hands to get the 7/8 players in for the first team, never mind building squad depth.

A striker is the least of our worries. We need a manager, 3 full backs, 2 centre backs, and a number 6 before we even think about the attack.
It is mind blowing that Bayern Munich wanted a buyback clause for Anzou desperately, but we said no. Only for Moyes to decide to not play him because "he's not ready", whilst continuing with that clown number 16, who has never been ready.
Signed Tyler Dibling, refuses to play him again because "he's not ready" but again plays Dwight McNeil, a man who makes Robert Snodgrass look like Arjen Robben.

I think this is what frustrates most fans, Swan. I could understand it if the team were playing well, but so many are underperforming or are just not up to it at this level. Therefore, Moyes saying certain players are not ready is nonsense. Aznou looked really good when he came on. Haven't seen him since.
Dibling played behind the striker for Southampton. Moyes sticks him on the wing every now and again. As for Patterson, in the few games he has played, I thought he did ok. But no, we play a centre half there who plays as a centre half. Can't get forward and is done for pace. It's just really poor man management.

You can play a centre half at rb to help cover for perhaps a couple of games at this level, but not for virtually the whole season.
I would have liked to see OBrien given a chance at centre half, his natural position, rather than sticking with Tarkowski and Keane.
We are missing a natural attacking option without a proper rb; cannot see why this was not one of our priorities at the start of this season.
It has got to be a priority now if we are to progress, in my view.

3 seasons at least, Farmer.

Absolutely right, DMS, don't get why our recruitment team are unable to recognise and deal with it. If it is down to budget, don't waste it on more midfielders/wingers who are only going to sit on the bench. The recruitment specialists obviously see the club's priorities differently.
{Ed025's Note - you use the term "Specialists" very loosely FG.. :)
