I'm not sure what part the World Cup plays in all this, but I can't help, I'm sure. Clubs putting bids in isn't the same as signings. And, of course, how do we truly know that we haven't put a few bids in of our own?
I'm not concerned about our transfer budget or when the business gets done.
My one concern is the football we play! Surely that dross towards the end of the season will put off some quality players should we try to sign them.
Moyes said recently that they tried last summer to get some quality signings, only to be knocked back by the players. That's worrying, as the football toward the end of this season was way worse than the end of last season.

Problem is: we don't know who we tried to sign last summer. Moyes could have been referring to Messi, Ronaldo or Mbappe, but this is Moyes.. he probably tried to sign that injury prone Fulham fullback, Soucek and Dibling. Oh wait, didn't we get one of them? Not sure as only really saw Moyes' favourites play.
