Hi all hope everyone has had a good weekend and everyone is all safe just a question for Ed 001 or any of the gang on here what's you're foughts on this psr and opinions on clubs spending big like man city buying anderson for 116 million yet there is 115 charges and still no verdict man United spending big yet they are apparently in debt Tottenham are apparently on verge signing tonali for 100 mil and another 85 mil on fernandes from West ham yet Aston villa might have sell Rogers to meet psr requirements and Newcastle with tonali also hull sold 2 there players otherwise they would been hit with a breach just madness but hope youse all have a good Sunday and PS I like evertons new home kit as well in my opinion UTFT

{Ed001's Note - it is SCR now isn't it? And debt doesn't factor into it any more, it is all about revenue. Easiest way to think about it is to look at it that for every 100 quid the club earns it can spend 85 (I think it is 85% in the Prem off the top of my head, it is a lower amount in European competition) on players salaries, transfer fees and agent fees. So the enormous debt Man Utd and Spurs are carrying does not factor into it, which is also good for Everton, who also have a large debt due to the new stadium.

Man City is a different thing, but they have a whole group of clubs who can feed them players to sell, which is how they can spend. The 115 (it is actually a lot more than that now) charges is something that is dragging on and is really frustrating and that is down to the Prem and FA simply being weak. It really should be sorted by now.}

All you had to do was read and listen as ED001 obviously did. People are still burbling on about PSR all over the sites. Spurs are spending big because their income is growing (Stadium) as will ours but patience needed.

I'm fed up with PSR, SCR or any of the other rules that have been brought in Andy. For me, it's just widened the gap between those with huge incomes and those without, and it will only accelerate it.

There was an article by Kieran Maguire (think that's his name - some football finance expert) who said Villa, Newcastle and the likes of ourselves will continue to need to sell players to not be done for overspending.

City, Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs do not need to worry about it. They can keep buying players for stupid amounts and if they flop, the cost is absorbed by their revenue - lots of it is down to merchandise and events based. He specifically cited city and Chelsea who never had the issues others have nowadays - plus we know there have been dodgy dealings by both. These clubs were bought by billionaires who were allowed to invest regardless, without constraints, which has put them where they are now and the current rules mean no one else can do the same.

I'd like to see something introduced which closed the gap between the richest and poorest prem teams but such a commercial driven industry (that football has become) will not let that happen. They reference teams like Brighton, Bournemouth and Brentford all doing well but I am not convinced that will last. Villa have bucked the trend but are falling foul of UEFA fines each year and still hovering round PSR/SCR limits.

Anyone else who does well then gets their best players bought up by one of the breakaway 6 who can simply afford to put them on the bench week in; week out if they want to.

City were nobody 20 years ago. They spent money, like Chelsea, which would have likely resulted in multiple points deductions if today's rules were applied. When they have been found out, Chelsea were given a slap on the wrist and a pointless fine - I reckon City will get the same. I don't care what they say about Chelsea abiding by rules and being under new ownership, a points deduction should have been applied for consistency if they have done it to us and Forest. It's an absolute farce.

Sometime in the 2030s there will be a breakaway Euro Super League like they tried to start a few years ago. It'll be sooner if the FA or League try to punish any of the breakaway six.

As for the debt side of things, that's a whole other issue with the modern game.

I don't know what the solution is but the current one doesn't work for me. I'm assuming many supporters outside the breakaway six would agree but then again, maybe many of them enjoy the current system where most competitions will be won by one or more of six teams with their best players being snapped up by them also.
