Finally bought tickets for me and my lad to go to BMD to watch us against Lille.
Any tips for someone who has not been to the new stadium yet (except to look through the gates whilst it was being built) ?
Anywhere decent to get dropped off/picked up from or is there nowhere in a five mile radius open to traffic?
What the food like inside (bar pricey) ?
Anything to be wary of?
Planning on getting there at 2 so can have a good look around the place.
{Ed025's Note - the parking situation is a bit of a nightmare to be honest BR, the easiest way is to get the train in and the bus out i feel, if you are getting dropped off the Eldonians and Vauxhall rd area is about the best i would say which is a 10 minute walk, the dock road and regents road is usually gridlocked mate so i would avoid getting picked up there, the food and drinks i think are pretty reasonable and its very tasty (the Korean chicken is recommended), give yourself plenty of time before and after the game and have a drink afterwards in the fanzone and wait for the crowds die down a bit before you leave i would say...and enjoy my friend..

Only got up to about 7 games last season, and depends how much you want to walk from my experience.
Derby day stayed at Hampton by Hilton hotel in Hurst Street, nice walk up, and the swell of fellow Blues got bigger and bigger.
Other games we were down in the residential part near the train station and walked down, again in a growing group of fellow Toffees.
Looks a nightmare to get dropped off nearby though, along seemed to be dropped off and picked up in Costco, but even when it's not a matchday that seems tough to get out of.
Fan zone is well worth hanging out in for the atmosphere before and after the match. ?

Cheers both. Think we'll get there early and hang around to take it all in.
Used to park near the Mons in Bootle, and walk 20mins to Goodison, so don't mind the pre match amble.
Plus the lad is 8 and much fitter than me these days, so he should be fine.
Is the store open on matchdays or do they close it due to crowd size?

Get a cab to the Liver Building and walk down. It's not that far, as long as it isn't raining. ?

Store is open on match days, but the changing rooms aren't, as it's usually busy in there.
On the first game last season, me and the wife went to the Winslow and did a coach over, then walked back as we were in the shop so long and would miss the coach back. Actually didn't take too long to walk that, but was a nice day. If it had been raining it may not have been as pleasant.

If you get there early, on the far side is where the team walks in, your son may enjoy that.
And there is the photos of the Everton Giants round that side as well. If you look at the front of the stadium, you go round to the left and it's in the far corner, you will also see the entrance for the players there if you walk further round.
