Anyone else worried we are going to start this season the way we finished the last?

Yes, very worried, but I've been worried since the start of last season. TFG could put us out of our misery before we start this season, the way we ended last season.
{Ed025's Note - i will be honest with you guys, this is going to be a relegation dog fight for us this coming season, the only way i see us surviving is if we get rid of the dinosaur that is David Moyes...well thats how i see it, same players and the same crap tactics as the end of last season...and maybe without our 1 star player, i know i will get the Moyes apologists telling me that this is only pre-season and we are going to bring in some quality players...but im not buying it, mark my words chaps..

Dithering Dave needs the boot asap, and if anyone is happy with him and his boring rubbish tactics, they really do need their heads looking at. We are in for another long boring hoof ball season, and this could be the one where we finally go, and it's all down to him.

He integrates players before he plays them Ed. I've never heard so much crap. If you sign a player who fits your system (if you have one) then he should be able to slot straight in without any issues. The benefits of any pre season and style of play and tactics etc., should be there for all to see by the 3rd game, not as in our case evidence that things are getting worse. This stems from the mindset of a manager who feels that having a better squad and finishing in the same position as the season before and just one point better off is progress. He has the arrogance to refuse to accept any responsibility for our collapse at the end of the season putting it down to player tiredness and injuries.
TFG made a gross error of judgement in giving him too much control that could come back to bite them if they refuse to act on the writing that is clearly on the wall for all to see. I'm sorry to say that I agree totally with your opinion Ed. I'd really like to be positive going into a new campaign but it doesn't matter how hard I try I just can't while Moyes is still here. He'll never be able to take away my loyalty to the club but he sure as hell has drained every drop of enthusiasm I had and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
{Ed025's Note - i feel the same Shropshire and some will think my rant last night was over the top, but after watching that debacle last night any light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off for me mate, my frustration is born out of love for this club who i have supported for over 60 years and in all those years i have never been so disillusioned about the start of a new season, now i know there will be some new faces coming in but i see them as sticking plasters because its not one or two players we need...its a total overhaul and reset of where this club is heading and the way i feel at the moment i fear it could be the Championship..

If your manager is 60+ and outa shape and shows no energy on the touchline other than a few hand gestures, then the team will perform the same. Maybe that's why Arsenal won the league; he shows energy to his players with his constant running and shouting.
These modern players need to be screamed at, as most of them are thick soleless self entitled kids that can't think for themselves.

To be fair, I think most of them just need a manager who actually believes in them and allows them to play. A good manager will build confidence in his team and always have a positive attitude to how they approach a game.
A poor manager spreads negativity amongst his players with his attitude. Often shouting at them is a result of his inability to manage them.
